Optimal bath size. Bath size

Many owners of private houses sooner or later catch themselves thinking about what is on their property. This great idea, the bathhouse itself, steam room and sink, the layout of which can be very diverse, will give a lot of pleasant emotions and many hours of relaxation. Of course, you should carefully prepare for the construction of such a structure on the territory. The bathhouse has a special atmosphere and safety requirements, so you need to think through everything down to the smallest detail.
Design and layout of a bathhouse with washing and steam room

It is very important to take into account many factors that will be decisive in the question of which pair to be on. These questions are:

Interior decoration and design of a relaxation room in a bathhouse

These are just some facts that must be taken into account in the process of preparing for the construction of a place where you can steam, swim and just have a good time with intimate conversations.

You should understand what should be in the bathhouse. This:

  • Steam room;
  • or shower;
  • Toilet;
  • Locker room;
  • A place to rest (usually located in the dressing room).

Layout with dimensions of a bathhouse with a relaxation room
Everyone can adjust these spaces by adding something of their own. However, each of the rooms must be in a bathhouse; you can only add an additional one.
In addition, the structure should be erected taking into account safety requirements, namely fire safety.

Example of finishing and design of a washing room

What materials can you choose for construction?

Most often found in private areas. However, depending on which one or other sizes, the choice of materials may vary.

A selection of options for steam room layouts in a bathhouse
Most often, bets are placed on the following types raw materials for construction:

Ways to eliminate condensation in the dressing room

Each of the presented materials is worthy to serve as the basis for the construction of a bathhouse. The main thing is to follow the rules and requirements when constructing a building yourself.

What must be in the sink

The layout of a 3x5 bathhouse or other parameters must necessarily include such spaces as a sink and steam room, a bathroom, and a locker room.
Of course, if desired, each owner of a land plot can independently decide to supplement the space with non-main premises. For example, billiards, a recreation room and much more that can only come to mind.
The washing room must have:

  • Swimming pool or shower with cold water;
  • Sink for washing.

An example of placing a sink in a steam room

These are the attributes that you can’t do without in a washing room. The main thing is to do the layout correctly so that all the parts are located in the right places and are comfortable for use.

Layout of a sauna with sink and terrace

It is also worth making sure that the washing room prefers coatings that are resistant to moisture and high temperatures. This can be tiles, wood coated with special solutions.

An example of tiling a bathhouse sink

As a rule, a shower room or swimming pool is placed in such a way that it is convenient to enter after warming up in the steam room, that is, next to the steam room.

What should be present in the steam room

If the space of the bathhouse is three by four meters, then you won’t be able to speed up too much in the process of thinking about the layout of the room. In small baths of minimal size, the dressing room, small sink and the steam room itself are also quite compact.

In the steam room, for the comfortable use of this room, there must be niches on which you can sit. Often this design is made in the form of steps.

Drawing and layout of a compact steam room

This makes it possible to accommodate even the smallest space, quite a lot of people. The layout of the steam room is usually standard. Typically, heating sources are located in the far left or right corner. That is, firewood or stones, onto which special mixtures are poured to achieve the desired temperature in the room. Heat sources are placed on a special heat-resistant surface, making it possible to comply with safety precautions.

Layout and design of a steam room in a wooden bathhouse

Niches are located under the wall, usually “V” figurative form. In the middle of the room, the steam room is usually located wooden stand, which provides comfort when leaving the steam room.

It's time to talk about how much space is needed in a steam room per visitor, and how to most economical And ergonomically put it all together. Let's figure out together what size a pair room can be for 2, 3, 4, 5 people.

Basics of bath ergonomics

In fact, there is only one specific room in the bathhouse; all the rest can be considered as analogues of well-known residential premises. Therefore, here we will only talk about steam room

So, what is a steam room and how is the space organized in it?

Most often we are dealing with a steam room or Russian, or Finnish baths They are different. They differ not only in temperature and humidity conditions, but also in the methods of achieving them. And this means that the same oven most likely (not always, but often) it will not be enough to reproduce both modes. The systems are also different. , And .

In addition, the volume of the room is heated heterogeneous, it can be distinguished zones with different degrees of heating. The dimensions of these zones and the temperature in them depend on the convection of heat flows, and it is determined by the location of the ventilation holes.

But you will find a lot of material about this on our website; we have covered each topic in detail for both types of baths. If we talk about ergonomics, then its subject will be human convenience, determined by the anatomical characteristics of man.

Or we can say this: ergonomics solves the question of how to adapt furniture and other surroundings to our anatomy. Because sitting, lying down, bending over, squatting, etc. it is convenient for us only if our dimensions And possibilities.

This diagram shows how people usually sit or lie in a bathhouse. You see that minimum seat width should be at least 40 cm, and 60 cm deep is enough to sit, leaning comfortably against the wall. The seat depth of 90 cm is already enough to sit on it with your legs tucked under you.

So, Finns would make three tiers of shelves with a width of 40 cm per “step”. Consequently, the depth of their shelves would take up only 3x40 = 120 cm. Its length would vary depending on the size of the room and the number of people in the steam room.

Why would they do this? Because In the sauna it is customary to sit on a shelf rather than lie down. They sit and sweat, that’s the whole bath procedure. The temperature reaches 70-90 degrees, humidity – 5-15%.

They pour very little water onto the stones, the steam is thick, like from a kettle, and the ventilation works in such a way that there is always something to breathe - oxygen constantly arrives from the ventilation and is quickly heated by the stove.

In a Russian bathhouse, shelves 40 cm wide are not suitable. Because it is customary to lie on it. And the other person should float while lying down. The minimum usable width is 60 cm. But it’s better to start from the size between the paired’s arms, which are freely lying along the body. Only in this case will he really be comfortable lying down.

ADVICE! Measure these dimensions for the widest of the frequent visitors to your bathhouse and make shelves according to it.

Russian regiment- This is a lounger, often two-level, the first level of which can be used as a step for a person floating, or can be a seat. Therefore, it can be narrow - 30-40 cm in depth. And the second level is just wide, under a lying person. Its length, of course, should be appropriate - 180-220 cm.

Shelves in a Russian bath

You may be attracted to options with footrests, but here you need to proceed from the specifics of your bath; try to calculate this option yourself.

The relationship between area and number of people soaring

The owner of a bathhouse usually has an idea of what number of people in a steam room would be most acceptable for him, but usually this is still from 2 to 5 people, then something like a “public bath” begins. At the same time, this does not impose any real restrictions on the number of guests in your bathhouse - if there are more of them, then they will steam in “shifts.”

In essence, the steam room is designed for the usual number of steamers. But taking into account the fact that the steam room should not be too large - not only for reasons of economy. It's important to find balance between the power of the stove, the volume of the room, ventilation (in a sauna), the quality and quantity of steam (in a Russian bath).

Optimal steam room sizes

For 2 people

The size of a steam room for 2 people also depends on how exactly they are going to steam. For example, they can only sit on a shelf, then the steam room can generally be tiny. You remember that for a person sitting, 40-60 cm in depth is enough.

IMPORTANT! The distance from the stove to the shelf can be found in the instructions for the latter, but we will assume that it will not be less than half a meter.

In contact with

Below we will not only describe everything important points, but we’ll also share schemes or links to our articles with diagrams, where the optimal minimum and standard sizes in the bathhouse, taking into account different modes (Russian or Finnish), ergonomics and fire safety requirements.

What size should a steam room be in a bathhouse: layout

The size of the steam room can be influenced not only by the number of people the owner is counting on, but also by the presence or absence brick oven , which itself takes up enough space and allows you to easily increase the cubic capacity - it heats up for several hours, evenly.

About ergonomics Bath space we highly recommend reading. There are diagrams and explanations - everything is there.

Here we will go over the principles briefly as they apply to the issues under consideration.

Minimum dimensions

The minimum dimensions of the steam room are in Finnish bath. A minimal amount of people - one. So, in order for one person to sit (sitting in a sauna), he needs 40x60 cm(in other material you will find a width of 70, but we gave this with a margin so that those sitting next to each other would not touch each other).

So consider: a tiny electric stove, its depth will be 30 centimeters (look for descriptions of small electric heaters in ), the distance to it according to fire safety rules, and the dimensions of the shelf, if desired, a two-level one - 50x80 cm. Roughly speaking, fit within meter by meter:) But it will be sauna but only.

Therefore, when you ask a question about what is the minimum size of a steam room, at least specify for how many people– for two meters of space is no longer enough. AND what a sauna– in a Russian stove, even if it is metal, it must have an internal heater and be surrounded by stone or brick.

IMPORTANT! The smaller the cubic capacity of the room, the less power is required from the stove. The more miniature she is, by the way. Do not take a stove with a large power reserve into a small steam room - wood stoves are difficult to regulate, and you probably won’t find tiny gas stoves. The alternative is electric only.

Standard

We hope that you yourself understand that there are no “standards”. On average, everything revolves around an area of 2x2 meters, it may be more, but it usually does not go far from these figures. Because there is no need to take all the guests to the steam room at once; they go in “shifts.”

In addition, we showed you where a method of compactly accommodating 5(!) people in a steam room of 1.8x1.8 m is demonstrated. It's of course again sauna, and there is no point in cramming 5 people into such a volume, but the fact itself deserves attention - he says that A 2x2 doesn't necessarily fit only 2-3 people.

Optimal

After we said goodbye to the idea of any standards above, let's see (as promised at the beginning) what an optimal steam room consists of.

First, let's distinguish between Russian and Finnish sauna, everything is different there.

Russian bath– you need a special stove to get light steam, and with a lining, so as not to overheat the steam room, you need space next to the stove - 10-15 cm to the wall with a heat insulator that prevents fire, half a meter - where there is no wall, you need shelves for a person lying down and space to steam it, you need space under the ceiling to collect steam and to swing the broom.

Sauna- need a good one supply and exhaust ventilation with a complete air exchange rate of 5 times per hour, with high heat transfer - it doesn’t matter, the main thing is that there is no lining, an open stove to get a little heavy steam, narrow shelves in three tiers just to sit on them - that’s 40 depths per tier, 120 cm on three tiers.

To count I'll optimize for a Russian bath, take the most frequent visitors and measure them - you need height(growth) and width(measured lying down using the arms lying freely along the body). Or you can just give the width of the shelf 120 cm, the foot pads 30 cm, so you have one and a half meters just for the shelves.

Then you figure out where it is bake, what “spot” of space will it occupy together with fire safety, add to the dimensions of the shelves.

Draw a plan so that the door was opposite the window(if you ventilate in bursts), under the window of the shelves, opposite, there is a stove. Here is a plan that emerges specifically for your case. Give it 120 on the shelves - you can sit with your legs pulled up, across, you can lie lengthwise.

You can also give 90, And 60. If you did look at the article on ergonomics (see the link above), then you know that both sizes are suitable for both lying and sitting, only in one case (60) you lean back to the wall and lean your back against it, and in the second (90) - you already need to pull your legs up onto the shelves in order to sit against the wall.

Washing

Now that we have more or less figured out what size a steam room should be in a bathhouse, let’s move on to washing There, as you know, they traditionally wash from basins, and, if possible, they run hot water and wash in the shower - on a tray or in a shower stall.

Sources hot water can be either external– water supply network, or internal- water heated by a stove. For the latter, heat exchangers and tanks in contact with the furnace on one side are used. So, the tank also takes up space.

If it is installed on the stove– it takes up space in the steam room if installed in the soap, and is heated using a heat exchanger - then, accordingly, at the installation site. It is also possible to install it in the dressing room.

BY THE WAY! Wherever the tank is located, heating it will raise the temperature in that room, so it can be thought of as a radiator or heater.

That's why more expedient Of course, put it in the washroom. But here there are possible options depending on expediency, look at your specifics.

So, to wash while sitting from a nearby basin, you need . Long enough to fit a basin. The best thing is one bench per person. You still need a place for pouring. And for some - under the font.

And if you have shower, then the shops are no longer essential, except for all sorts of procedures. You can install a shower from the tank– raise it higher or use forced pressure.

Optimal washing

When you have completely decided on what exactly you want to see in your soap bar, including the water supply system, then you can start drawing a plan.

Let's assume that the basins are still in use. Then make benches for two people and enter their dimensions into the plan. Sitting comfortably seat depth 40 cm, but it’s also possible, for example, 30 cm. One person takes up roughly 60 cm. Plus a basin. A meter bench should be enough.

But you can connect two benches if necessary to make one sunbed, then one bench should be at least 180 cm in length.

Pallets There are different sizes - from 80x80 to 140x80 (in fact, there are many variations, you can always choose a tray to suit your ideas about a comfortable shower). If you are planning a shower, enter the area of the tray.

The size of the steam room and washing room in the bathhouse will vary greatly depending on their contents - some have a soap room and a sink, others also have a combined bathroom. We repeat: Optima is your own plan of what you want. Arrange the objects so that it is convenient - the parameters of the room will immediately become visible.

Please note that the tank can be secured high, therefore, it is quite possible to place a bench under it. The size of the pair, by the way, is quite decent - 230x200 cm.

Steam room elements

Sometimes the reader is only interested in some detail, for which he is not ready to read the whole article. Well, let’s meet halfway and invite everyone who is impatient to find out only about the dimensions of doors, windows, shelves and ceilings. But keep in mind that for each (almost every) issue we have a separate article, which talks about the subject without any confusion.

Door

Doors for baths in a store

And again: the door to the steam room of which bathhouse? If it leads to the steam room of a Russian bath, then the door should be small, 160 centimeters in height and with a threshold 20 centimeters from the floor. So not only is it low, they are also trying to make it narrow - here the minimum is 60-70 centimeters, but we still recommend making it wider - 80 centimeters.

These dimensions are due solely Russian bath conditions, where it is necessary that a steam cake collects under the ceiling, so that it does not escape through the door, so that there are no drafts, and the threshold keeps heat on the floor. Such a door should also be well fitted so as not to cool down the steam room.

Details about calculating the door in a Russian bath -.

The door in the sauna is completely different. It can be not only wooden, but also glass. And most importantly, she is simply cannot be without a large gap at the bottom of the door. A 5-10 centimeter gap is needed to allow fresh air to freely enter the sauna; this is part of its ventilation system.

Finns are not afraid of drafts on the floor- they sit on the second or third shelf, and the cold air heats up so quickly from the stove that drafts do not in any way reduce the temperature, which according to air conditioning should be 70-90 degrees, and some reach 100 or more...

The dimensions of the door to the sauna can be standard - for example, 70x210 cm. Learn more about all the features glass doors for sauna – .

Window: dimensions and location

Let's start with the fact that both Finns and Russians install windows, but in principle there is no need for a window in the sauna, and if they put it on, it’s for the sake of beautiful view, For example. Therefore, in a sauna there are no preferences regarding the size and location of the window in the steam room.

But for Russians this is part traditional ventilation system, which is called "volley". It is assumed that during steaming all air currents almost completely stop (the damper is open slightly), this does not last long, and in the interval between shifts of steamers, ventilation occurs - for this purpose, the door and window in the steam room are opened wide.

If the window is used for burst ventilation, then it is usually made on the wall opposite the door. But nothing bad will happen if you do it to the right or left of the door.

As for the dimensions, some are inclined to believe that a window is also emergency exit, and should let an adult through, others say it is source of heat loss, so it should be as small as possible.

In this regard, you better trust your instincts and experience, because there are no rules. Usually windows are made 30-50 cm on one side. They can be both square and rectangular. We described all this in detail here.

Shelves

Another one important topic. Even if something has already been said above, we are not afraid to repeat it, as long as the basic principles become clear.

Shelf height from floor

If you need a shelf for sitting on it, then the height of the shelf from the floor will be 40 cm. This is suitable for a sauna. There are three tiers, each 40 cm high. I climbed onto the last one and all the heat is yours.

REMINDER! It is correct to say and write not “canopy”, but “shelves”, if we are not talking about a curtain for a bed, but about a bath seat-lounger.

In the Russian steam room the rules are slightly different. It is good to measure the height of the shelf from the height of the upper edge of the oven(not brick!). It should be 5-10 cm higher than it. It should be a little high for some visitors to simply climb, so it would be good to have at least another 20 cm little attack do.

But the approach for the sailor is calculated as follows: it is necessary that he rises so high above the regiment that it is level the knuckles of his closed fist. Measure this distance from the knuckles to the ground, then look at how many shelves it occupies in height, from here you will get the height of the landing pad for the hover.

Dimensions of sun loungers in a Russian bath

We already said above that you have three options - 60, 90, 120 cm in width. Of course, no one forbids using intermediate figures; it is at your discretion. Important, that The width of the lounger in the steam room of a Russian bath should not be less than 60 cm. In terms of length, it is supposed to accommodate the person lying in full height, with the legs of an adult man extended. So consider, is 180 cm enough for you, or do you need 200, or 220?

Dimensions of shelves in the sauna

Here, too, everything is simple and stated above. The minimum space for one seated person is 60 cm. 70 is better. Calculate how many people sitting in a row you want to see on one tier. This will give you the length of the shelves in the sauna steam room. And the width is known - 40 cm.

Ceilings

Another important and controversial element is the calculation of the height of the ceilings in the steam room of the bathhouse.

Height in a Russian bath

In Russian tradition, it is supposed to collect steam from the ceiling, and in a certain way. If the ceiling is straight, then waving the broom will disperse the steam in the corners, which is not beneficial for you, since you will have to add excess water to cool the stones. Therefore, it is better if the ceiling has a slightly vaulted shape, and the maximum height of the steam room in a Russian bath is 270 cm.

Of course, no one is forcing anyone to do anything. General recommendation sounds like this: not less than 200 cm.

Or you can start from how much space the sailor needs, who is doing ulnar(preferably) swing with a broom - the main thing is that it doesn’t hit the ceiling with the broom :)

We think that those who make steam cakes should heed the advice about 240-270 cm. The rest - as they wish.

Height in a Finnish sauna

Regarding the sauna, we know only one piece of advice: The height of the ceilings in the sauna steam room is at least 110 cm from the height of the upper tier shelf.

When starting an independent design, first of all we need to determine what the optimal size of the bathhouse will suit us. In the case of work on standard project this question loses its relevance somewhat (although here it is important to do right choice), but if we carry out all the drawings ourselves, the dimensions need to be determined very accurately.

Below we will look at several aspects of this issue and provide a number of recommendations. By following them, you will be able to design and build the most comfortable sauna or steam room, spending a minimum of time and money.

Layout options

As you understand, it is impossible to give a definite answer to the question about the optimal size of a bathhouse. It all depends on your financial capabilities, area of the plot, chosen layout, etc..

It is the last point that we will focus on in this section:

  • The simplest bathhouse design must have three rooms: and a steam room. If we choose this option, then, in principle, a 2.5 x 2.5 m structure will be enough for us. Of course, we are not talking about any kind of space, but one person can easily take a steam bath for his own pleasure.

  • If you want to build more comfortable room, then in addition to increasing the dimensions of these three rooms, the design instructions recommend adding a locker room and a rest room to the plan.
  • For the most comfortable structures to operate, it is also worth providing covered areas for fresh air– terraces or verandas.

Note!
Open areas of a small area can be made temporary by installing sliding systems glazing or wide accordion doors.

Naturally, each of these options will have a different area. Below we will look at suitable parameters for the main premises.

Determining the dimensions

What should a steam room be like?

The steam room is the main room in the bathhouse, and therefore, when designing, you need to start primarily from its size.

The main factor here will be the power of our oven: in order for the steam room to perform its function, it must maintain a constant high temperature.

And if wood-burning or gas ovens they cope with this quite well, even with large volume rooms, then an electric stove can only heat a relatively small room.

  • The first thing we need to define is . If you plan to steam while sitting, then 150 cm is quite enough, but for comfortable movement you need at least 185-200 cm.
  • To stretch out to your full height on a shelf, you need up to 2 meters of free space. However, an option with one and a half meter shelves is also possible, but in this case you will have to lie down with your knees bent.

  • Experts consider the minimum dimensions of a steam room for one person to be 85x120 cm. Naturally, the stove should be quite compact to eliminate the risk of burns.
  • For two people, you should build a more spacious steam room - at least 1.5x2m. And it’s not just that two people need it: the free space must be sufficient for two people to pass each other without touching the heater.

  • If the size of the building and material reserves allow, then it is best to make a steam room 2x2m. This area allows you to place a fairly large stove and comfortably steam for two or three people. In private homes this is quite enough!

Advice!
The figures given here are very arbitrary and are calculated based on the average height of a person.
If your dimensions or the dimensions of your loved ones differ significantly up or down, you must make adjustments.

Area of other premises

If everything is more or less clear with the steam room, then when planning and arranging other rooms with your own hands, even experienced craftsmen prefer to use reference books:

  • The locker room must be at least 1-1.2 m wide - otherwise we will constantly touch the walls with our elbows. At the same time, there is no point in making a large locker room, since we will only use this room at the entrance and exit.
  • The washing room (soap station) should be designed at the rate of 1.5 m 2 per person. This space is quite enough to soap yourself comfortably and wash off dirt without disturbing others.
  • As for the dressing room and rest room, the rule applies here - the more, the better. Of course, making a room the size of a living room in big house It’s not worth it, because it will be quite cool in it. But the dimensions 3x3m are just enough.
  • The same goes for the terrace and veranda. However, in this case, we will not be limited by the price of wall fencing and finishing, but only by the size of the foundation. So you can have some fun here, especially if we plan to use the bathhouse mainly in the summer.

As a result, we get a structure whose dimensions range from 3x3.5m to 5x6m. As a rule, private sauna projects operate with exactly this size.

Dimensions of the structure and materials used

Another point to consider when choosing a size is when you plan to build the structure yourself.

These are the dimensions of the building material:

  • It is most convenient to make structures made of logs no more than 4 meters along the long side. This is due to the fact that most manufacturers produce logs with a length of 4.5-4.6 m, and therefore, taking into account the material consumption for cutting the corner, we obtain the required value.

  • The same applies to timber: maximum overall size should leave 5.5 m when cutting a corner with a remainder, and 6 m when cutting without a remainder.

Note!
It is much easier to splice a log house along its length than a log, but when self-construction It’s better to avoid this anyway.
And walls made of solid timber retain heat better.

  • If speak about building blocks(foam concrete, aerated concrete, cinder block), then there are no such strict restrictions. Walls can be laid to any size, as long as the configuration allows everything to fit necessary premises. So in this case you need to start from the plan of the bathhouse.

Conclusion

Optimal sizes baths must be determined based on existing conditions and your wishes. Build it too small and it will be inconvenient to steam; build it too big and you will spend extra money and it will take a long time to heat. We have given tips for choosing above, and more detailed information contains video in this article.

The construction of a bathhouse begins with a project, determining the size and configuration of the room. What should the steam room compartment be like? Do you need a rest room and dressing room? Which minimum height ceilings? In this article we will tell you what to consider when planning and make an approximate calculation of the size of a bathhouse for 2-4 people.

4 mandatory questions to calculate the optimal bath size

1. How many people steam at the same time?
A standard family sauna is made for 2-4 people; if you are taking a steam bath with friends, then take into account that about 6 people can take a steam bath at the same time (possibly more, but 6 is the most typical option). Everyone should be comfortable, expect that one person occupies approximately 1m2.

2. How do you like to steam?

There are several options for location in the steam room, here are the most common:

3. Do you like to steam while sitting? Then a size of 1.3 x 1.8 m may be sufficient for 2 people, and for 4 people who will steam, including lying down, 1.5 x 2.0 m. Add to these figures a stove, a passage to the shelves, and we get right size.

4. How long does it take you to wash?

5. Do you like to sit longer in the bathhouse? A small room warms up faster and cools down more slowly; if you are not going to receive guests, then the smaller the steam room compartment, the better (but not less than 2.5x2.5x2.5 m)

6. Are additional premises needed?

The bathhouse consists of a steam room, a wash room, and a relaxation room. Do not sacrifice the relaxation room in favor of the steam room and vice versa, you need all three types of premises - believe our experience, you will regret not doing so.

7. What attributes will be in the premises?

Before calling a contractor or starting to build a bathhouse with your own hands, draw up a project. By hand, in specialized programs (SketchUp is good) - all the same, the main thing is to arrange “on shelves” everything that you want to see in the bathhouse: shelves, stove, headrests, shower, buckets, water taps, table, clothes hanger, etc. . Some people need to fit a table for 7 people in the recreation room, while for others a small bench for lying down is enough. The size greatly depends on what you want to see in the bathhouse.

Optimal dimensions for a small family bath.

Let's say you have a small family bathhouse for 2 or 4 family members. Do you need a steam room that can accommodate up to 4 people at the same time? small room relaxation area with a table and a washroom for the same number of people. Let's figure it out optimal height and the width of the room.

Determining the height of the steam room

They say that the steam room should be the height of the tallest member of the family - this is not true. The minimum possible height is 2.5 - 2.7 m, even if the tallest family member is no more than 1.8 m in height, this does not mean what needs to be done low ceiling. With a low ceiling, the volume of the steam cake will be extremely small; due to the small thickness of the steam layer, the steam will be unstable. Also, allow at least 1 m of space between the top shelf and the ceiling, so that you can also sit on the top shelf.

Calculating the width of the steam room

We need at least one lying place, that is, one of the sides should not be less than 1.8 m. The optimal size for 2-3 steamers: 3x3 or 3.5x3.5 m, that is, an area from 9 to 12-13 m2 at different ratios of length and width, and the minimum critical, that is, the one at which it is still possible to prepare a steam cake sufficient for short-term vaping, is 2.5x2.5x2.5 m.

Calculate the height and width of the wash basin

There are as many people going to wash as there are to take a steam bath, which means the room should be no smaller in size. The ceiling height should be either the same as in the steam room or higher. The higher the ceiling, the easier it is to breathe in the room. Thus, the optimal dimensions are height: 2.5 - 2.7 meters, width: 3.5x3.5 or 4.5-4.5 m

Calculating the size of the rest room

We also start from the number of people and furniture that we want to place in the room: table, benches, chairs, clothes hanger, TV, etc. For 4 people we recommend a rest room with a width of at least 4.5-4.5 m
