Crafts from plastic bottles (115 photos): we make original decorations with our own hands. DIY homemade products from plastic bottles for the garden and garden Useful homemade products from bottles

Every day we throw away various packaging, plastic bottles, plastic bags, cans etc. And probably few people thought that this “garbage” could become new life, becoming a material for original crafts that you can make with your own hands. Today you will learn about crafts from plastic bottles.

Curtains with delicate petals made from ordinary plastic waste and bottles

Eco-designer from Great Britain Michelle Brand creates decorative lamps, chandeliers, garlands, curtains, curtains from ordinary plastic waste. He carefully cuts out delicate flowers from the bottom of the bottles, the edges of which are melted over low heat. Then he strings them on a thin fishing line, like beads, or sews them together. Brilliant and simple!

Do you also want such unusual curtains? It is best to lay out the pattern from the bottoms of the bottles on a horizontal surface; use a felt-tip pen to mark the points at the points of contact horizontally and vertically.

Option 1. We burn holes with an awl or a needle, and then string them onto a beading line or a thin fishing line - first all the vertical strips, then connect them through the holes made horizontally. You can also glue the bottoms at the points of contact with hot glue. The design is more rigid.
Option 2. We connect the bottoms through the burnt holes, threading small ones through them paper clips or similar for a stapler.
Of course, you will have to try to bend them with your fingers or pliers.

Furniture made from plastic bottles

If you realize that your plastic creativity has outgrown garden rattles, garden dolls and even palm trees, move on to making more practical products. For example, furniture - light, durable and original.

There can be only one obstacle to the implementation of the plan - the lack of a sufficient number of identical bottles. But it doesn’t matter: we don’t have enough for a sofa - we make an ottoman. The costs are minimal: you only need stationery knife and tape.

The most attractive thing about plastic furniture is that it is all made using the same technology. Support frame any item consists of blocks containing 16 two-liter bottles. The sequence of manufacturing such a block is clearly demonstrated in the figure. From important nuances I will note two:

1. Compliance with the dimensions of parts B and C;
2. Rigid connection of “spare parts” using adhesive tape.

We make backrests, armrests and other elements from the same “matryoshka” bottles, connecting them in the required configuration.

If you use such furniture on outdoors, just cover it with something soft and decorate it with spray paint. For indoor use, you can sew a cover with padding, etc. In general, if you have imagination, the result will satisfy even the most sophisticated aesthetes.

Material consumption:
Single bed - 750 bottles. Double sofa - 400-500 bottles. Chair - 250 bottles.

Ottoman made from plastic bottles

It’s easy to make something like an ottoman from 16 plastic bottles with closed lids (country option). We turn them upside down and fasten them with tape, first two at a time, and then pairs together. We fix the cardboard on top with tape, then the foam rubber so that it sits softly. All that remains is to dress our “throne” in a cover made from old clothes.

"Little Kangaroo"

Tired of looking for a place to charge your phone? From now on it will be located right... on the outlet. From a plastic drink or shampoo bottle, we cut out both a pocket for a mobile phone and an “eye” for hanging on a “fork.” Fortunately, plastic does not allow electricity to pass through.

Set of plastic bottles

This plastic cassette holder can have many uses:
- country kitchen utensils (spices, knives, spoons, napkins, vase);
- a travel bag for storing small ornaments, radio components, screws, nuts, washers, seeds, buttons, etc.;
- service for outdoor trips. The design is so simple that manufacturing will take a couple of hours at most.

You will need: a plastic circle (a piece of PVC board), 4 plastic bottles for kefir and 1 each for beer and water, 7 caps with a threaded neck, a glue gun, an aluminum rod, 2 pieces of plastic tube.

From the bottles we cut off the lower parts (cups) and the threaded necks at the very base. And from the board - circle 1 (see figure). Inside it we draw a circle of 2 smaller diameters. We place on it at equal intervals six crosses 3 and one in the center 4. In the marked places we glue the cut off necks with threads, and to the bottom of the glasses we glue the corks to screw our container to the base with their help. We drill two holes 5 for the handle along the edges of the circle. Pour glue into plastic tubes at one end to a depth of 10 mm. After drying, screw the tubes with self-tapping screws on the underside of the circle. There we glue four legs - bottle caps. We bend the wire.

Pour 15 mm of glue into the tubes and insert a wire handle.

Now the advantages of the set become obvious: compact, with “dishes” that do not fall, break or get lost.

Drain the water! Or do-it-yourself gutter

2-liter bottles are an excellent replacement for galvanized sheet metal if you need to make a temporary gutter with a drain for a country house building.

Having separated the bottom and the shaped neck, we cut the remaining cylinder in half lengthwise. By overlapping the halves and fixing the connection with a furniture stapler, we form a gutter. From the same bottles without a bottom, but with part of a cone-shaped neck, we make a drain pipe. At the junction of the gutter and pipe, we attach a funnel made from a 5-liter bottle.

Broom made from plastic bottles

It is generally accepted that plastic bottles are trash. But everything will turn out to be exactly the opposite if you make a panicle like this.

You will need: two-liter plastic bottles - 10 pcs., broom handle, wire, hammer, small nails, knife, awl.

We cut off the bottom of 9 bottles, then cut them into strips 0.5-1 cm wide, not reaching the neck 6-8 cm. We cut off the neck of 8 bottles, and put all these blanks on the 9th one in turn. We cut off the top of the 10th bottle and place it on our structure. Using an awl, we pierce all layers of plastic through and through in 2 places, thread wire through the holes, twisting the ends. We insert the stalk into the neck and nail it with nails.

Ivan KORKOV, Vitebsk

Pasta - in a “tube”

A couple of 2-liter plastic bottles make a convenient container for storing spaghetti or other long pasta. In one I cut off the neck (before the narrowing begins), in the second - the bottom (7-8 cm). I insert a pack of spaghetti into a bottle without a neck and close it with a lid from the bottom.

Creative slippers

Required: plastic bottle, strong threads, a piece of linoleum (soles from old shoes or a rubber mat will do), hole punch, hook, dropper, awl, beads, glue, scissors.

We start by cutting out the sole from linoleum. Next, take a plastic bottle and cut 2 strips 1.5 cm wide and 15 cm long. Punch holes in the center with a hole punch and round the corners with scissors. Crochet the sole around the edge (photo 1). We tie the strips in the same way as the sole, fastening them at an angle of 90 degrees, (photo 2). We connect all the parts, tie the sole and stripes in a crawfish step.

To make holders for the upper and lower parts of the parts, we thread a thread through a bead, then we knit a chain of air loops, take a piece of a dropper and stretch the loops (photo 3). We fix the “holder” in the place where the first and second fingers, tying the threads, glue them to the sole. (photo 4). For beauty, we decorate the slippers with beads.

Country crafts from plastic bottles:

If you have a small pond on your site, you can arrange it plastic palm. It's not at all difficult to make. You will need:

  • 10-15 brown plastic bottles (for the palm trunk);
  • 5-6 green bottles (preferably long);
  • iron or willow rod;
  • an awl or drill for making holes;
  • sharp knife or scissors for cutting bottles.

A palm tree made from plastic bottles looks very beautiful

Now let's start making the decoration.

  • Cut all the brown bottles in half. We take the lower parts and use an awl to make holes in the bottom of each of them, equal in size to the diameter of the rod.

Advice! You can also take the tops of the bottles, then you won’t have to make additional holes.

  • For green bottles, cut off the bottom by about 1 cm. Leave one of the blanks with a neck, cut it off for the rest to make a loop.
  • Carefully cut the green bottles lengthwise into three equal parts up to the loop.

Making palm leaves

  • We cut out the edges of the brown parts with jagged edges to create an imitation of a rough palm tree trunk.
  • We securely fix the rod in the soil. We calculate the length of the rod by laying out the brown parts on the ground in one row, plus 2-3 cm for the leaves.

We put brown bottles on it.

Making a trunk for a palm tree

  • We string our leaves onto the free top of the rod, finishing the work with a blank with a neck. We make a hole in the lid and screw it onto the last sheet, securely securing the entire crown.

Handmade is popular in any form, be it a gift to friends or a joint creation with a child. Bottles of water, carbonated drinks, milk and juices are an excellent base for crafts. The material is easy to process, durable, and not afraid of precipitation, which is why folk craftsmen and famous designers love it so much.

It’s easy to see this by looking at the photos of crafts made from plastic bottles. The ideas implemented on them are easy to repeat yourself, or they will become Starting point to create new masterpieces in the interior or garden.

What to prepare for work

An important advantage of handmade objects is that any material available on the farm can be used for crafts. Plastic containers for drinks are a universal “raw material”.

In action are:

  • whole bottles of any size, including canisters;
  • separately necks or figured bottoms:
  • main smooth part;
  • covers.

The advantage of the material is its ease of processing. Blanks can be:

  • pierce with a knife, awl, clamp needle
  • heat until the plastic takes the desired shape and hardens
  • cut with scissors or a stationery knife

For decoration, depending on the idea, you will need paints, leftover threads, scraps of fabric, natural material(cones, twigs), artificial flowers, leaves. There will be a use for old children's toys, broken garden tools, tapes, foam rubber, wrapping paper.

Schemes for crafts made from plastic bottles are easy to find on the Internet, but if you lay out the existing bottles and various waste materials in front of you, ideas will arise by themselves.

Big possibilities in a small bottle

No complicated tools or special skills are required. But as a result you can get:

  • real animals and fictional animals;
  • organizers for storing small items, stationery, garden supplies;
  • figurines of people, animated characters, fairy-tale heroes;
  • flowers and various floral arrangements;
  • flower pots and flowerpots for indoor and outdoor plants;
  • bird feeders;
  • interior decoration details or landscape design.

Original ideas for bottle crafts do not necessarily involve cutting the container. As a result simple manipulations with loosened soil and multi-colored paint you can build:

  • a low figured hedge or frame for flower beds,
  • flat silhouette of a flower, insect, animal;
  • smiley

In this case, the bottles are simply sunk into the ground to the desired depth, and the protruding parts are tinted in the selected color.

A beautiful vegetable garden without much hassle

In the store it will not be difficult to buy a garden figurine of any theme. The same goes for flowerpots, decor for a recreation area or flower garden. But similar things made with your own hands look no less impressive. Crafts from plastic bottles for the garden can be made in the winter, so that at the beginning of the season you can install them in places of honor in the country house.

Artificial pond

1.5 liter bottles are painted in Blue colour by 1/3 of the length, starting from the bottom. Then they are pressed into the loose soil close to each other. There is no need to create perfectly even outlines. Let the artificial lake have an irregular shape.

It can be lined around the edges large stones, and “on the water” install figures of waterfowl or water lilies. Plants, by the way, can also be made from plastic containers.

Engine

Shape of 5 liter cans drinking water resembles train carriages. You will need whole bottles with necks and soft plastic lids for homemade preparations. In the lids and sides of the bottles, two protocols are made from the bottom of the canister. The holes are located closer to the beginning and end of the workpiece on both sides. Then, using flexible wire, the “wheels” are attached to the locomotive and carriages. Now the composition can be painted.

The neck of a soda bottle looks like a pipe and can be inserted into the hole on the nose of the locomotive. If you cut rectangular holes on top of the cars along the perimeter of the bottle and pour soil inside, then the train turns into pots for climbing and short plants.

Hares, pigs, and elephants

Cut off the top of a large round canister and you will get the body of an animal, on which even an incompetent artist can depict a muzzle and paws. You can cut long and thin ears from another bottle and insert them into the slots closer to the edge of the bottle. You will get a recognizable bunny.

Ears are round and small size– for a bear cub, huge and wide ears – suitable for an elephant. If you place the canister horizontally, leaving the spout with a lid, then the small sharp ears and pink color will help turn the bottle into a perky pig. The crochet tail is made from a small bottle cut in a circle.

Excellent crafts are created from cut to the desired height plastic containers. If you make holes on the sides and insert wire or twine as a handle, you will get a convenient basket for collecting berries.

It can be painted, covered (tied) with colored ribbons or twine, and artificial flowers can be added. You can decorate the necklace with an old lace napkin or create a pattern from coffee beans.

1000 ideas for 1000 things

A detailed description of crafts made from bottles for novice designers can be continued with organizers that are necessary in any home.

Supporters of minimalism will appreciate the prefabricated composition of bottles with cut-off necks, varying in height and volume. They can be fastened together using wire, stretching it at the puncture sites and tightly twisting it into a flagellum inside the containers. Multi-colored caps, beads, appliqués made of fabric or self-adhesive paper will help to cover the fastening points.

Hanging organizers are indispensable in the bathroom, home workshop, garage, or craft corner. Can be done rigid mount by cutting a hook or loop out of a portion of the bottle so that it is one piece. Or choose an option with fastening on a rope or wire, similar to the principle of a bow on a bucket.

Figured baskets. It is easy to arrange soft plastic in the form of a basket. Then you can store, for example, cosmetics in it. It would be appropriate to make a spice box for the kitchen, and if you line the bottom of the box with thick foam rubber, then rings and stud earrings will look original in it. The edges of such baskets can be wavy, smooth, or jagged.

Another filling idea is a floral sponge. You can fix artificial buds in it or create a composition of fresh flowers.

And can apple trees bloom on Mars?

A master class on crafts made from plastic bottles would be incomplete if we ignore the plants created from them. An exotic palm tree can easily grow in your house or garden, even if you live in central Russia.

For flower arrangements you can do:

Inflorescences from figured bottoms. Just paint them bright colors and install on a rigid “stem” of wire. The leaves can be made from green bottles.

Exotic buds. From the soft plastic center you need to cut four-pointed holly blanks of different sizes. They can be connected in pairs, combining parts of different shades, but from the same color range. Each detail needs to be slightly shifted relative to each other, creating volume by bending the petals towards the center or towards the bottom of the bud.

Prefabricated flowers. Round-shaped petals are prepared in advance and slightly melted over a candle flame. Through the holes made at the bottom of the petals, the bud is collected onto a flexible wire.

Fairy lights. The easiest way to assemble them is from multi-colored bottoms from bottles with a volume of 0.5 to 1.5 liters. You can string the buds horizontally or create them vertically blooming vines. They can block the entrance to the gazebo or hang from trees in the garden.

Leaves are cut small and round, tall and thin, like sedge, or with soft curves, like in nature. The latter option is easily obtained from wave-cut strips, lightly scorched over a candle fire.

Bonus ideas

Before you enthusiastically engage in creativity, you can familiarize yourself with a small kaleidoscope of ideas available for implementation:

  • mosaic on a garden path or gazebo wall made of plastic covers;
  • a corrugated pipe or hose from an old vacuum cleaner as the trunk of an elephant, the neck of birds, a giraffe, the legs of animals (a rigid wire frame is inserted inside to give the desired bends);
  • bottoms of multi-colored bottles instead of mini-shades for garlands;
  • canisters for rinse aids and others detergents to create fancy figures, funny faces;
  • a bottle as a sprinkler (pierced with a thin needle and put on a garden hose) or an automatic watering container.

It’s not difficult to see that a plastic bottle is an inexhaustible source of ideas for creating useful little things. For more instructions on how to make a craft with your own hands, watch our video.

Create, please others and enjoy the process of creation yourself. Remember that by giving bottles and canisters a second life, you make the world cleaner and brighter!
