DIY gazebo roof: photo. Drawing of a hexagonal gazebo with dimensions Laying terradecks in a hexagonal gazebo

Preface

You can relax while enjoying the delights of nature, or communicate with friends or family in a suburban area with greater comfort than just under open air. This is why gazebos were invented - they allow you to sit comfortably on fresh air, protect from precipitation and sun, and some from wind.

Gazebo - why is a hexagonal one better and where to start building it?

The best shape for a gazebo is a hexagon. This shape is optimal in terms of ergonomics, strength and stability. From a practical point of view, a hexagonal gazebo is easier to make, and its design is stiffer and more reliable than that of the latter or a square (rectangular) one. In addition, quadrangular options will take up more space on the site with equal capacity. From an aesthetic point of view, the hexagonal structure is also more advantageous than its counterparts of other shapes. It looks very elegant, original and will decorate the landscape of any suburban area, as can be seen in the photo.

The construction of a gazebo begins with choosing a location. It is best to place it next to trees or on the shore of a pond. Natural vegetation will not only protect the building from heat in the sun, but will also provide additional coolness on a hot day, as well as protection from wind and precipitation in bad weather.

Then you should determine the dimensions. They will depend not only on the free space at the construction site and the desired functionality, but also on your financial capabilities. The minimum dimensions are determined by what is supposed to be placed inside. It is quite obvious that for good rest in the gazebo you just need to provide benches and a table. Perhaps someone would also like to install a tandoor or barbecue there (as in the gazebo in the photo shown), and maybe some other items or equipment. The placement of all these objects must be foreseen in advance, so that after installing the racks it does not turn out that the gazebo is cramped.

Determining the size of the gazebo and the method of its construction

A simple and accurate way to determine the size of the gazebo is as follows:

  • on graph paper we mark the boundaries of the space available for construction on the ground (choose any convenient scale) - this will be a plan for future construction;
  • from graph paper we cut out figures of objects needed to be placed in the gazebo (the contours and dimensions in the chosen scale must correspond to real objects);
  • we place the figures on the construction plan so that they fit into the hexagon;
  • draw a circle around the hexagon;
  • we measure the radius of the circle and the dimensions of the hexagon, and then convert them to a real scale - these are the dimensions of the future gazebo.

By the way, the hexagon does not have to be strictly symmetrical in shape - two of its parallel sides can be longer than the others (for example, the entrance and the opposite). The design will be elongated, but in some cases it will fit into the boundaries of free space and will be more convenient and original.

Now you need to decide whether to build a gazebo yourself or order its production from someone who does this professionally. If you plan to build a complex and solid structure like in the photo, then the second option makes more sense. An architectural form created by masters will be much better and of higher quality than a structure built with your own hands. By the way, they will also offer ways to implement the plan and materials for making a future gazebo.

A simple hexagonal gazebo can be erected independently. The main thing is to take into account that such a building has a fairly simple design: a base, 6 supports and a roof. If the building is not elongated, then each side is repeated in shape and size, and therefore in the elements used. This greatly facilitates the preparation of materials, the construction itself and the design of the walls.

Basic principles of self-construction

The next stage in DIY construction is the choice of materials. You can use timber, logs, bricks, metal, plastic and a combination of them. Power and solidity can be imparted to the structure using concrete and brick, and lightness, delicacy and decorativeness can be achieved using carved wood or plastic. Buildings decorated with ornaments made of forged steel look luxurious - a photo of such a gazebo stands out against the background of other options. But such complex design elements, like those made of wood, will have to be ordered from workshops.

A do-it-yourself hexagonal gazebo, made from the first “pile” to the last hammered nail yourself, can be made from coniferous species wood (pine or spruce). Without the use of complex decorative elements, requiring contact with specialists, its cost will be relatively low, and its strength will be sufficient.

In any case, before starting construction and purchasing materials, it is necessary to develop detail drawing or a sketch of the future gazebo indicating the dimensions of all its elements and parts, as well as methods for their mutual coordination and fastening.

The sketch must be drawn up in accordance with the calculated dimensions and the desired structural and decorative solutions, and also take into account the use of selected materials. One of the options is shown in the photo.

The degree of closure of the walls may vary. Openings can only have railings or ornamental plants or openwork grilles. You can also completely close the walls by inserting glass and making insulation. Then, even in autumn and winter, relaxation in the gazebo (as in the photo) will proceed with special coziness and comfort. The roof can also be installed in any shape. But, as a rule, it consists of absolutely identical six triangles, converging at the top in one place.

After preparing all the elements of the future gazebo, it is necessary to make the correct markings at the installation site - draw a hexagon on the ground required sizes. To do this, using two pegs and a rope, we draw a circle of the calculated radius. Then, on the drawn circle, we mark the 6 corners of the future structure with the same radius. The resulting hexagon will be the base and future floor of the gazebo, and supports should be installed in its corners. Further in accordance with the developed drawing.

The area around the cottage or country house very favorable for relaxation. However, spending time in the sun or in the rain is not entirely comfortable. A comfortable gazebo will save you from bad weather. There are many various types structures, but one of the most interesting is the hexagonal structure. It is not easy to build, so services for the construction of such a structure are not cheap. DIY hexagonal gazebo - great way create a unique building and save on builders' services.

Advantages of an unusual shape

Rectangular gazebos are more practical during the construction phase. However, hexagonal ones are superior to them in other respects:

  • Appearance. Gazebos with a base in the form of a polyhedron look really impressive. This applies not only to the walls and foundation, but also to the roof. The multi-sided roof of the hexagonal gazebo stands out from the usual two- and four-sided roofs.
  • Strength. The more planes the gazebo has, the less pressure it has from precipitation and other external conditions. The hexagon shape has been tested for millions of years - what is the value of a honeycomb that can withstand strong pressure.
  • Capacity. Gazebos in the form of polygons look very compact, but at the same time they are much more spacious than rectangular buildings of equal area.

However, before constructing such a facility, one should not forget that the process may not be easy.

Types of structures

Traditionally as building material steel and wood are used for gazebos. Hardware less practical, and their construction requires welding skills and a lot of money. Wooden gazebos are more comfortable. No special skills are required to work with this material. A person who knows simple carpentry tools can make a hexagonal gazebo out of wood.

There are only two types of designs wooden gazebo: based on frame and timber. The first option is usually used in areas with architecture made in the same style. The second type is more universal. On its basis, you can design a building in absolutely any style. In addition, wood for frame gazebos does not require specialized processing, which cannot be said about the material for log houses. Cutting down a tree for crowns is extremely problematic for a non-professional. To do this, it is better to use the services of companies that produce ready-made log houses, which you only need to assemble and then lay the roof.

Gazebo design

Once you have decided on the type of frame, it’s time to decide in what style your gazebo will be made. Buildings with vines look extremely advantageous on the site. The basis for them is the gratings in the openings of the gazebo walls. Plants wrap around the clapboard and create a pleasant shade inside the gazebo.

When creating a drawing of a hexagonal gazebo, determine in advance the type of roofing. There are several most popular materials:

Advice! When choosing a roof for a hexagonal gazebo, do not forget to calculate its weight.

Interesting design ideas for gazebos

Any owner wants to have on his site not just a comfortable, but also an interesting gazebo. In small architectural objects it is much easier to embody bold design ideas.

Carved elements

Simple rectangular supports look very ordinary. Much nicer are the carved pillars. You don’t have to own chisels to have such decorations on your property. Many companies sell ready-made carved supports for gazebos at affordable prices.

Closed structures

For those who like to relax all year round, a closed gazebo is suitable. Such buildings look very original, especially in combination with unusual finishing materials. Ornate patterns give a special charm to closed gazebos. window frames and stained glass. On winter season they are removed and the doors are opened (to avoid condensation and rotting). This is done if the gazebo is not in use.

Gazebos with fireplace

If you want to enjoy hot dishes cooked over a fire even in winter, then you should take a closer look at gazebos with grills or barbecues. You can arrange an authentic fireplace with stones and coals right in the center of the gazebo, or you can purchase a regular ready-made barbecue oven. First of all, you need to decide on the size of the gazebo and the budget you have.

Important! In buildings with a fireplace, it is necessary to have an exhaust hood and metal protection around an open fire.

Thatched roofs

Country style is very simple in execution, but at the same time it looks impressive. Key element gazebos in this style have a thatched roof. For roofing country bungalow Reed or wooden shingles are used. To ensure that the frame of the gazebo does not stand out from the overall picture, round polished logs are used for supports.

Making a drawing metal structure, you can adhere to the principle of “nothing superfluous”, or you can create a real masterpiece of blacksmith art.

Glass walls

On small areas buildings made of glass are relevant. Hexagonal gazebos for summer cottages using glass look very light and visually save space. Construction in such style will suit for areas with modern architecture and to houses with large windows.

Modern materials in design

Polycarbonate is a relatively young material. But due to the urban appearance and low cost, it enjoys great success in the design of buildings with unusual shapes. Both walls and roofing are made of polycarbonate. The material will perfectly protect the gazebo from rain and wind, without weighing down the structure.

Step by step assembly

How to build a gazebo? Before starting work on the construction of a hexagonal gazebo, it is worth carrying out everything preparatory work. First, an accurate drawing is made. The dimensions of the structure, as well as the joining points, are entered into the gazebo diagram. In addition, the drawing must indicate methods for fastening the elements. The materials of the floor, frame and roof of the gazebo are also entered into it. This detailed description will allow you to get the most accurate idea of the future design. This will also save time and money.

Before determining the area and placement of the gazebo, it is necessary to calculate its capacity. You should also draw the location of the table and benches. After all preparation steps have been completed, you can begin pouring the base. To ensure that the construction process does not cause difficulties, you should use simple instructions with photographs.

The step-by-step work on assembling a gazebo with 6 corners looks like this:

  • Prepare a string, the length of which will be equal to the radius of the gazebo’s circumference. A peg must be tied to its ends.
  • One of them is hammered into the center of the circle, and with the help of the other, a circle is drawn on the soil.
  • After this, two pegs must be installed at any point on the circle. The first one is removed from the center of the soil and transferred to the nearest point on the circle (as in the figure). After this, using a rope and two pegs, 6 points are marked along the entire circumference, where the supports will be placed.

Now that the outline of the gazebo has been determined, you can begin building the foundation. The simplest type of base is columnar. It is quite simple to build, and the materials used are minimal amount. Typically, such a foundation is built for wooden or frame gazebos. It is usually made from masonry concrete blocks. Under each of them you need to dig a shallow hole. The foundation is 1 block high.

In order for the frame made of wooden gazebo beams to be maximally connected to the concrete blocks, it is necessary to install a reinforcing rod in them. The joints of the beams are overlapped and then placed on the rods.

About 15-20 cm of the rod remains above the bars. The corresponding holes must be drilled in the racks. For the joists on which the floor will rest, you need to install 4 concrete blocks. They must be embedded in pairs into the foundation beam.

After this, it is necessary to install wooden columns. They must be fixed strictly vertically. To do this, use cutting boards. Once the racks are installed, it is necessary to equip them with strapping beams.

It is better to make a railing in the middle of the racks. A fence is attached to them. A board is attached to the top trim. A hexagonal pillar is installed in its middle part in a vertical position. It will serve as a support for the rafters.

The rafter legs are laid on the central post at an angle. They must be securely fixed with self-tapping screws both to the post and to the harness. If it is necessary to cover the roof with tiles, OSB slabs are laid on the rafters. Before this, the sheathing is mounted on the rafters.

The slabs are cut on the ground. It is screwed to the roof using self-tapping screws. It is recommended to cover each overhang with a metal strip.

It is impossible to imagine a summer cottage without a beautiful hexagonal gazebo - it decorates the space and allows you to relax pleasantly in summer heat. Would you like to build one, but are not confident in your construction skills and capabilities? We suggest we talk about how to build a hexagonal gazebo with your own hands. Drawings and dimensions, step by step project with photos later in the article.

DIY hexagonal gazebo

Hexagonal gazebo: features

The hexagonal gazebo is popular among summer residents - it is easy to install. Why is she so attractive? Let's try to figure it out.

Garden 6-sided gazebo - reliable design. Its creation (even if we take closed and glazed models) involves fewer technical difficulties than that of. It is inferior in capacity and number of seats to the latter, but with the right layout you can significantly increase the area for vacationers.

The hexagonal gazebo for the dacha looks elegant and attractive - this is a classic model that does not lose its relevance over the years. With proper selection of materials it will last a long time.

Varieties

You can build a gazebo from the following materials:

  • forged metal;
  • professional pipe;
  • brick;
  • tree.

Forged metal

A forged metal gazebo will be chosen by those who would like to see something openwork, light and weightless on their site. They look elegant; as a craftsman, you will need not so much the ability to build as the skills to use a welding machine.

From a professional pipe

It is characterized by quick installation - it can be assembled in a few days if you know how to use a welding machine. For support pillars, a corrugated pipe of 80x80 mm is used, but the use of other sizes is also allowed.

pros:

  • high stability;
  • installation is faster and easier than a brick counterpart;
  • the opportunity to show imagination when experimenting with form.

Main disadvantage There are considered limitations in the creation of winter models. It is not recommended to construct hexagonal gazebos from corrugated steel pipes closed type: Metal does not retain heat.

Made of brick

The brick buildings look like small houses. The structures are popular among those summer residents who have already managed to build brick house and want to complement landscape design similar buildings.

Wooden hexagonal gazebos

The most common construction option for novice builders is hexagonal wooden gazebos. Prized for its incredible ease of use wood panels and bars.

We build a hexagonal gazebo with our own hands (from a professional pipe)

After analyzing the materials, we will discuss how to make a hexagonal gazebo with your own hands. Drawings and dimensions with step-by-step photographs will allow you to see how a structure made of corrugated pipes is installed.

Preparatory stage

Within preparatory stage determine where it should stand on your site. Preparation for construction includes:

  • selection of tools and materials;
  • choosing a location on the site to install the structure;
  • drafting;
  • blueprints.

Tools and materials

List tools for the construction of a hexagonal gazebo:

Bulgarian

Pliers

Welding machine

Gloves

Rope and pegs

From material you will need:

To work with profile pipes, it is necessary to know how to use a welding machine and an angle grinder.

Choosing a place on the site

To install a gazebo, you will need to select an area with a flat surface without closely lying groundwater. Pick up the trash and clean the surface, you will need to do it later columnar foundation. Marking is done with pegs and rope, according to the drawing and design plan.

Hexagonal gazebo project

You will either need to draw up a project yourself, or use a ready-made one from the Internet, or order it from a specialized company that deals with project documentation. A well-designed project reflects the size and location of the structure on the site (more on this below). If you choose a professional pipe, please note that winter options gazebos with heating are not appropriate (it is better to create them from wood).

Do-it-yourself hexagonal gazebo - drawings and dimensions

The gazebo drawing with dimensions must contain:

  • site plan (minimum);
  • scale;
  • overall height of the structure;
  • height to handrails (if there are any);
  • height from handrails to roof;
  • height of the gazebo roof;
  • the width of one face inside the structure;
  • cross-sectional width between edges;
  • the width of one edge on the roof;
  • sectional width on the roof;
  • diameter from the center to one of the corners inside the structure;
  • roof diameter from the center to one of the corners;
  • gazebo floor area;
  • roof area;
  • Pipe diameter;
  • All sizes in the rafter system.

To correctly measure the area of the gazebo, do not forget about the comfort of people - to an ordinary person 2x2 m of free space is required.

Foundation and frame

After drawing up a project for which you will build a hexagonal gazebo with your own hands, the drawings and dimensions of which are shown in the diagram, proceed directly to installation. The next important step is laying the foundation and installing the frame.

Foundation and base assembly

For correct installation gazebos you will need to pour a columnar foundation. Not professional builders They may ignore installing the base, but then the gazebo will settle over time and everything will have to be redone all over again.

Make sure that the posts fit straight into the holes, otherwise the gazebo will sag. Use a level to check.

The foundation depends on your project, and its quality depends on your skills in working with the welding machine. Profile pipes with the following parameters should be used as racks:

  • wall thickness – no more than 2.7 mm.
  • the cross-section is preferably 80 x 80 mm (other options are also allowed).

Flooring

For a hexagonal gazebo made from corrugated pipe, the floor is made of wood, concrete, brick and stone. It is permissible to make it without a floor, planting the surface with lawn grass.

If you want to make flooring for wooden floor, you will need to install logs, and then lay the surface with boards. When installing brick floors, you will first need to make a sand cushion (dig a small hole around the perimeter of the base area, then fill it with crushed stone and sand, and then fill it with concrete mortar and lay it with either brick or stone until it dries). We recommend working with stone only by professionals - the material is difficult to process and install.

Installation of a hexagonal gazebo roof

You will have to choose not so much the shape as the materials: you can lay the roof with slate, tiles or metal profiles.

The first step is installation rafter system for a hexagonal gazebo. Use the remnants of the professional pipe. You can use bolts for fastening, but it will not look so neat; we recommend welding. The rafters will protrude beyond the racks (optimally 15-20 cm).

  1. Lay a layer of plywood no more than 20 mm (it can be secured to the rafters with self-tapping screws every 15 cm).
  2. Lay down waterproofing material(roofing felt) for moisture insulation of the roof: we will ensure reliability and prevent rainwater from leaking.
  3. After laying, cover the surface with slate or tiles.

It is acceptable to do rafter frame for 6 coal gazebos made of wooden planks, but in this case you will have to take care of the tree - cover it with special antiseptics against rotting and insects.

The final stage of construction: decoration and operation

Construction work is completed - start decorating the 6-corner gazebo. This kind of open gazebo is successfully combined with climbing plants that can be spread around the building - it looks beautiful and does not require a lot of additional expenses.

Get busy creating decorative furniture made from the remains of a pipe, tables and chairs will fit perfectly into the interior, but they easily absorb heat and cold, so throw pillows on the chairs to make sitting more comfortable.

A hexagonal gazebo made from corrugated pipe does not require any special skills to operate - all you need is to periodically tint the parts of the building and do not forget to treat them with an anti-corrosion agent. In winter it is problematic to use, so we recommend covering it with film to prevent contact with moisture.

Video review of the hexagonal gazebo

Hexagonal gazebo with barbecue

We will offer several options for placing a barbecue in a gazebo.

Any person who spends most of his life in a noisy city sometimes wants to take a break from this hustle and bustle. In this case, it helps many people country cottage area. Having a gazebo can help you relax and unwind in nature as much as possible. And since not everyone has it, let's consider simple methods its construction.

A properly built gazebo will be able to perform several functions at once. In rainy weather it will provide shelter from the rain, in the scorching sun it will provide refreshing shade and, most importantly, it will allow you to enjoy communication with loved ones in nature.

Let's divide the process into stages:

Site selection

The idea is to provide easy access for you and your friends or family to the gazebo. It will also be good if the structure is located under or near a tree. This way the roof will not get too hot under the sun, which will provide more greater comfort.

Foundation

Depending on the number of corners, pillar supports are poured. The photo shows the foundation for a hexagonal gazebo made of concrete and bricks.

But instead of bricks, you can also use racks. In order for the shape of the gazebo to be correct, draw a top view in advance and calculate required dimensions. After this, mark the area using pegs and twine. After this, in place of the stakes, dig holes about 50 centimeters deep. Next, place beams with a cross section of 20 by 20 centimeters there, so that they look 20 centimeters above the ground. Thus, you will need bars 70 centimeters long in quantity equal to the number corners of the gazebo.

With exactly the same parameters can be used for the base profile pipe. If you do not plan to make a base, and the floor will be tiles or concrete screed, take into account the height of the pipe with the height of the gazebo.

It is good to use for mixing concrete. But if you don’t have it, you will need a trough in which you can conveniently make a batch and then fill the hole with it. Concrete mortar mixed in proportion 1/3/2/2 - 1 cement, 3 sand and 2 granulations, 1-2 water. It is important to maintain exactly this sequence, as this affects the quality of the solution. Add water periodically. For example, after mixing cement, add a little sand, then wait until everything becomes homogeneous and add again. The overall consistency of the mass should be similar to gray sour cream. Vary the proportions relative to the required volume.

During the process, while the concrete solution is still damp, use a thread and a level to check that all the posts create an even horizon. And do not forget about the need for central support for the rigidity and durability of the floor.

Base

If you made a support from wood, then use the example of the finished base in the photo to knock down the boards. After this, the floor is sewn up with a board 2.5-3 centimeters thick.

It is not recommended to carry out such an operation with metal, since it tends to bend. You can also make the floor from tiles or by making concrete screed. Large slabs will look very aesthetically pleasing. A more openwork option could be a marble floor.

Frame

In the version with metal, your frame is already ready and it only needs rigidity. It can be strengthened using partitions, but more on that later. For a tree everything is different. Bars 15 by 15 centimeters and at least two meters long are attached vertically in the corners. Installation is carried out using metal corners and self-tapping screws.

At the beginning, let’s mention what you can do if you wish. beautiful gazebo and without parapets.

If you want a fence, the approximate height will be 90 centimeters. And the choice of material will not be small:

  1. You can sew panels from wood or tree branches. In this case, the blanks are made according to the size of one side (from corner to corner).
  2. Polycarbonate. One of the most popular materials for making gazebos. Also cut into sections.
  3. . You can do it yourself if you have it the right tools or order.
  4. Hedge. Having created only a side, you can put a climbing plant, for example, grapes, along it.
  5. Metal sides. Attached using welding joints. Later you can decorate with decorative elements.

The photograph shows one example.

Please note that the fencing can be extended, which will not allow uninvited birds to interfere with your rest and will create additional shade.

Rafters and roof

Rafters are mounted on the ground in the form of modules and then installed on the roof. Both metal and wood are equally suitable for this. Only the assembly methods will differ. When installing wood - nails and bolts, and for metal - bolts and welding.

The schematic drawing clearly shows an example of the “skeleton” of a roof.

Roofing

There are enough materials for the roof big choice: profile flooring, polycarbonate, slate, tiles and other coverings. Before laying, install waterproof material so that the roof is effective in the rain. After this, the material is cut out, if necessary, and attached to the beams of the rafter frame. Calculate the overlaps and lengths to avoid waste of material and save your budget.

paints and varnishes

Regardless of whether you choose metal or wood, it will be useful to cover the gazebo with paint or clear varnish. This will make the building more beautiful and extend its service life to you.

Don't settle on one color. Choose a color to match the color of the roof, plants, furniture inside, or simply to suit your own mood. If the roof is made of polycarbonate, then the number of color combinations only increases.

For a wooden floor you only need treatment by special means protection from insects and temperatures and paint coating.

You can also cover the floor with ceramics. To do this you need to have more or less smooth screed. Next, it is laid out on the glue under the level. Remember that the stationary or floor will be outdoors 24 hours a day all year round. In this regard, choose a tile that can withstand the load. This will help protect yourself from unnecessary costs.

No less beautiful and convenient solution will choose paving slabs. The semblance of tiles like in the photo or flat tiles will look beautiful. For preparation you will need a pillow of granulation and paving slabs at your choice.

Tools

No matter what you need standard set: hammer, saw, hacksaw, drill. If you are making a gazebo with a metal frame, then welding the seams is best for fastening. Bolts and nails will only be needed to secure the roof and parapet cladding. In the wooden version, it is best to connect the beams with bolts, using wide washers so that the head does not push through the wood. For concrete, you will either need a container and shovels that are convenient for manual mixing. There will also be a need for consumable tools such as brushes, nails, bolts, electrodes for welding machine.

Materials

If the frame is made of wood, then the following materials will be needed:

  • Beam 10 by 10 centimeters - racks and trusses.
  • Slats 25*30 millimeters for covering the parapet or window grilles;
  • Suitable for a roof edged boards 25 millimeters thick.
  • The floor is covered with a board no thinner than 4 centimeters.
  • Fasteners – corners and self-tapping screws;
  • Roofing sheets – OSB is a good choice.

By choosing metal as the material for the frame, the entire structure can be assembled from one type of workpiece. For a gazebo, a profile pipe with a cross-section of at least 50 millimeters or a corner with walls of 25 and 50 millimeters is best suited. The roof in this case can be made of wood or polycarbonate.

In both cases, the footage is calculated independently, since it depends on the scale of the construction.

The squaring of cladding materials, such as roofing and cladding, is determined depending on the size of the frame. Consumables also vary depending on the assembly method.

Types of gazebos

Classifying gazebos in your home according to any parameters does not make sense, because in our time the variety in construction has reached unprecedented proportions. This is caused not only by fantasy modern masters, but also an abundance of materials. Combinations of plastic, concrete, wood, metal and brick are just the tip of the iceberg. In particular, plastic can help you inexpensively, but very beautifully decorate both the interior and exterior of your building, regardless of its design.

After reading the guide on how to make a hexagonal gazebo with your own hands, you have everything necessary knowledge for construction of any shape or design. All you need to do is apply this knowledge in practice

If you wish, you can build closed gazebo. For this you will need additional funds- insulation, windows and doors. Also, the floor in such a gazebo can be made of ceramic. And inside, a fireplace or barbecue with a hood built into the wall will add coziness.

Such a gazebo can easily turn into summer kitchen, if necessary household appliances. In this case, a portable gas cylinder will not be superfluous; it can be connected to both the barbecue and the burner.

All of the above applies to rectangular or square shape. Shapes can be with many angles or round. It all depends only on your imagination. Also, for a quadrangular shape you will need additional supports, one in the middle of each side.

A gable roof for such gazebos is made in the same way as a multi-pitched roof, only with different shapes. Rafter structures are made in the shape of the letter “A”.

Quadrangular gazebos accommodate fewer people than rounded versions.

In addition to experimenting with the form, you can try different kinds covering the walls or roof of a building. You can make the roof semicircular and use polycarbonate or corrugated sheeting. It will look very original.

Don't forget about additional elements exterior. They may include a barbecue, street benches, tables, hanging flowers and anything else that comes to your mind. When building, keep in mind the main thing, the goal of the gazebo is to arrange it for you as much as possible. comfortable stay.

Advantages and disadvantages

Pros:

  • Possibility to make the gazebo portable. In this case, you can install it with bolts, which can then be easily unscrewed and assembled. If the concrete is not solid, then you can install the gazebo wherever you like or move it to free up the necessary space or simply change the situation.
  • Wide scope for imagination. For inspiration, you can look on the Internet to see how you can decorate a gazebo. For example, if you get tired of the parapet sheathing, you can easily repaint it or replace it with something else.
  • Independence from the budget. You can make a modest gazebo and gradually decorate it or cover it with more interesting materials.
  • If the gazebo is collapsible, then you can remodel it, thereby increasing the covered area.
  • By making the walls brick, the owner will reliably protect himself from wind and rain

Minuses:

  • The tree is rotting. That's why wooden structures need to be treated with special means to prolong life.
  • Fire hazard. This applies more to wood and plastic. When using these materials, carefully follow fire safety precautions.
  • Service. Nothing lasts forever, so repairing even the slightest chips will significantly extend the life of your building
  • Polycarbonate coating, although practical, is also not cheap. In addition, it enhances the sound of falling drops during rain.

Gazebo on site country house This is a great place to relax, eat and socialize with friends and family. Among other things, a gazebo can be an elegant decoration local area, especially if she has unusual shape- hexagonal. If you decide to implement such an idea, then you need to understand the intricacies of the production process of a hexagonal gazebo. We invite you to learn in detail about how the roof of a hexagonal gazebo is made and whether it is possible to make it yourself.

What to make from

First of all, you need to understand what building material the roof for the hexagonal gazebo is made from. There are two options:

  1. Metal.
  2. Tree.

The choice of material directly depends on what it is made of. most of beskdi. If this is a tree, then it would be logical to use timber. If the frame of the entire gazebo is made of metal corner or profile, then it is better to make the roof for the gazebo also from metal. Although it is possible to combine, but then labor costs will increase significantly, because you need to think about how to connect iron and wood reliably. In this article we will look at an example of manufacturing from iron.

Important! To make the roof of a hexagonal gazebo from iron, you must have welding skills. Although there is a technology for connecting metal profiles without welding, but with bolts. But it will take a lot of time to make the mounting holes.

Frame

The basis of any roof is the frame. The frame consists of a rafter system, sheathing and other elements that give it special strength and rigidity. The rafter system contains several load-bearing elements. If you compare it with the roof on a house, the difference is only in size. The rest of the manufacturing principle is similar.

The roof must be based on a Mauerlat. This is a special beam that is welded to the vertical pillars of the support along the entire perimeter. Such top harness will connect all the elements of the hexagonal gazebo into one structure.

Features of the structure of the rafters

So, as already mentioned, the basis is the rafter legs. It is on them that the entire main burden is placed. For rafters, you can use a corner or a profile pipe. In addition to the rafters, an important part of the hexagonal roof is the purlin. This is the part of the roof where all the rafters, and there will be six of them, converge at one point. This place is also called the ridge run. There is also a side girder that allows you to securely fix the rafters in a certain position.

Which run to use is determined individually in all cases. So, if during the construction of the gazebo you managed to save the right figure, in which all sides are equal, then the skate may not be needed. In this case, it is necessary to securely fix all the parts and for this, side girders are used.

But a hexagonal gazebo with an iron roof can be a little oblong. In this case, when constructing the roof, it will be necessary to construct and ridge girder and lateral. Among other things, puffs must be used. They mean spacers that diagonally connect the mauerlat and the opposite ends of the rafter leg.

Important! The use of diagonal ties gives the entire structure of the hexagonal iron roof greater rigidity. Due to this, it is much more resistant to external influences.

A stand must also be used. It allows you to adjust the required roof slope. This stand is attached at the intersection of the puffs.

When forming an iron roof for a hexagonal gazebo, or rather, its frame, all of the listed elements are not always used. However, it is still necessary to ensure that the roof is sufficiently rigid and reliable. After all, it is necessary to take into account that it will acquire a certain windage after laying the roofing material.

Advice! You can make a frame for a gazebo with your own hands on the ground. It is important that the surface is smooth. In this case, all you have to do is raise finished roof up and weld it to the support posts. This will not be possible if your gazebo is large and it will be difficult to physically raise the roof.

Formation of sheathing

The assembled frame based on the rafter system serves good reason under the crate. The sheathing is laid perpendicularly rafter leg. It holds the entire frame together and makes it resistant to stress.

Moreover, the lathing manufacturing technology will largely depend on the selected roofing material. So, if metal tiles are to be laid, then the sheathing should be laid so that the edges of the sheet fall evenly on it. If you plan to use roll material or bitumen soft tiles, then you're on top metal roof hexagonal gazebo must be secured with moisture-resistant plywood or other similar board material.

Moreover, when forming a frame for a gazebo made of polycarbonate or other material, it is necessary to determine whether it will be closed or open. If it is open, then there is no need to sheathe the roof from the inside, except for decorative purposes. If you are building a closed hexagonal gazebo and plan to use it in winter time year, then you need to think about how exactly to insulate an iron roof.

How to make a roof deck

So, if the roof frame is completely manufactured and already attached to support pillars, you can start the finishing touch- flooring roofing material. Regardless of whether the roof is flat or sloped, you need to worry about its secure fastening.

Some people decide to cover the roof of a hexagonal iron gazebo with polycarbonate sheets. Similar material has a lot of advantages. First of all, polycarbonate is light in weight, as a result there will not be a serious load on the building. However, if you do not follow the installation technology, water will leak through the polycarbonate. Therefore, special thermal screws are used for fixation. They use a special sealing rubber, which performs important role to create a tight connection. Among other things, you need to purchase a special strip for joining individual polycarbonate sheets.

The situation is completely different if the choice fell on profiled sheets. Their installation is not particularly difficult. It is important to observe the overlap of the material, as well as to correctly form the ridge of the hexagonal iron arbor. From a similar series, we can also mention metal tiles.

Important! Remember, both metal profiles and metal tiles have a special anti-corrosion coating. It is reliable protection from negative impact moisture. Therefore, when installation work It is extremely important to be careful not to damage it.

When laying roofing material, it is necessary to ensure that each joint is strong. It is necessary to make the correct calculation required quantity fastening element. For example, one sheet of corrugated board may require about 9 fasteners. However, it is necessary to look at each case individually.

If the roof in a hexagonal gazebo will be insulated, then it is necessary before covering it roofing material, do this job. Due to this, there will be free access from above. But do not forget about organizing a vapor barrier and waterproofing layer. Otherwise, the insulation used will be heavily saturated with moisture. And this will lead to the fact that its main functions will be completely lost.
