To install the dowels, you will need to drill a hole in the panel itself and the wall with a drill. Skirting boards should be installed in increments of 170 cm or more, even if you are covering the wall in solid strips. Such additional fastening is simply necessary, since the panels are held together by locks in one direction. If they are not supported by baseboards, the cladding will simply fall off the wall under its own weight or fold like an accordion.

Experts recommend laying the laminate with a “comb” to increase the strength of the cladding - cutting half the number of strips in half and attaching them in a certain way. Let's say you have 10 solid strips of laminate. You cut 5 of them in half, then start laying with a whole strip, attach two halves to it, then whole again and so on. As a result, short paired strips distribute the load on the fasteners more evenly, and an interesting pattern is obtained.

Laying diagonally looks very original, especially if two colors were used. But attaching laminate to the wall with your own hands in this way - independently without professional skills, is simply unrealistic, so we will consider horizontal installation panels.

Installation instructions

You should attach the laminate to the wall starting from the left corner opposite the entrance to the room, continuing clockwise. Then it will be more convenient to join subsequent elements. If you are left-handed, then do everything exactly the opposite - start from the right corner and move counterclockwise.
