Beautiful garden in the yard. Courtyard design of a private house: design features

Our home is our fortress. That's where we spend most time. But we are created in such a way that the place in which we live should be beautiful. A person loves comfort, warmth, beauty and originality. Such moments are important not only for interior decoration, but also for the site from the outside.

Agree that an abandoned house that is overgrown with weeds, cluttered with unnecessary things and looks untidy is not as pleasant to look at as a well-groomed, clean and tidy house. We can say that the building itself and the site personify the owner.

In order for your home to be worthy, beautiful and say only good things about you, you need to seriously think about the design of the site. Here you need an individual approach, professional advice and some rules to help you complete the correct design of the yard of a private house. Let's find out how to create quality landscaping and transform your home. A visual photos will help you have an idea about the work.

The main thing is the layout of the site

Yard a private house ov is the area that is adjacent to your home. She greets not only you, but also other guests and neighbors. The overall impression of the house will depend on its appearance outside. This is why it is so important to tackle the exterior as quickly as possible. And to do it efficiently, you need to plan your landscape.

But, before doing this, it is important to note that a beautiful design may be different for everyone, since, as they say, there are no comrades according to taste and color. You must understand for yourself what you think beauty is. There are many factors that influence choice and preference:

  1. Some prefer the convenience and practicality of the site, while others create the design of the house to impress the neighbors.
  2. Lifestyle also plays a big role. Are you often at home? Or do you come there to spend the night?
  3. Do you have children? Then the design of the house and the layout will be done so that there is a playground for them, and staying on the site is not traumatic.
  4. Almost the same can be said about pets. If they are, then the layout of the yard will be slightly different.
  5. How often do you invite guests to your place for barbecues or barbecues? Do you like to relax on fresh air in the gazebo in the yard?

All these factors play important role when decorating a yard in a private house. If you take these nuances into account, you can speed up the work process and save money.

It is worth noting that the landscape design of the yard directly depends on the size of the area near the house. The larger it is, the more diverse, practical, beautiful and richer the house can be decorated. Here your imagination may not be limited. But what you will need to say goodbye to is finances. After all, the more you want to do in your yard, the more everything will cost.

As for decorating a small courtyard, you need to set your priorities correctly, because everything that you might want to do on the territory may simply not fit. It’s no longer possible to create a large children’s playground with space for barbecues, relaxation and flower beds. In the photo you can see an approximate plan from which you can start when designing a plot in the yard.

Based on the plan, you need to make markings on the ground where all the objects will be located. Among them are a gazebo, flower bed, path, pond, patio, rock gardens and other desired buildings. As professionals advise, the entire area can be divided into squares. In each of them, place one of the key figures (a decorative element or a structural building). This way everything will look beautiful, organic, not messy and even. Such balance in the interior of the site is very important. The photo shows how beautifully and correctly everything can be placed on the site near the house.

Note! Before starting construction work in the yard, check the condition of the site. If you find water accumulation, it is important to drain it. The same applies to communication wiring, especially when placing a fountain, irrigation system or artificial reservoir on the site.

Arrangement of paths, steps and flower beds in the yard

Despite their unprepossessing appearance, garden paths play a very important role in the landscape design of a yard. Not only do they perform a practical function, which is to move around the site comfortably and safely, but also the paths can zone and decorate the area in front of the house. What can you make paths for your yard from? Here are a few options for you to consider:

  • made of wood;
  • from flat and large stones;

The borders themselves can also be different. Here everything depends on your desire and imagination. Some even make them from glass bottles, which looks quite beautiful. And if you combine the material for the paths on the site, you can get a functional and practical coating that will decorate the yard.

You may be surprised, but geometry in landscape design is very important. Someone, for example, sees harmony and balance in the smooth lines of the yard, oval flower beds, round shapes structures and winding paths. And some prefer a strict and clear design, expressed in straight garden paths, line-shaped bushes and an even lawn cut to a ruler. What is your ideal yard landscape design? Think about it and make it happen.

What private house would be complete without a flower bed? It brings sophistication to the design, dilutes it, decorates and transforms the area. If you need to beautifully decorate your yard, then you can’t do without a flower bed. At the same time, it is important to plant flowers not of one type, but of a variety, so that they replace each other in flowering, differ in color and appearance.

It would be a good idea to plant perennial plants in the yard that will bloom. all year round. You can plant flowers not only in the ground. Pots, cache-pots, boxes near the house, etc. are suitable for this purpose. A flowerbed can be made in a wide variety of ways. Here in the photo is one original idea for creating a flower bed on the site.

If the landscape on the site is hilly, do not rush to take up the tools and level it. Such a struggle with nature may be unnecessary; it is better to use this feature to its advantage. For example, you can create beautiful steps on a hill or in a lowland. Such a decorative structure in the yard will serve as a focal point and can attract the attention of others.

Fountains, cascades and artificial ponds in the yard

If your finances allow you, and the territory is quite large, then you can decorate the yard in a special way by placing a fountain or an artificial pond on it. Such designs can often be seen in the landscape design of expensive estates or cottages. This trend is inherent in the oriental style, which cannot do without natural stones, plants and water. It’s not for nothing that the Japanese believe that water is the source of life and a symbol of harmony.

We would like to say right away that organizing a reservoir on a site is not an easy task, but it is worth it. You cannot do this without the help of professionals. It is important to choose the right location, carry out the wiring of communications and design everything technologically correctly. Look at the photo how beautifully a small pond fits into the design of the site.

Let there be light

Equally important for the site is lighting. This is a guarantee of your safety. And you can relax in the yard with company longer. Lights can make a big difference in the overall perception of a site. Look at the photo to make sure that beautiful house Can't do without quality lighting.

Note! Thanks to spot lighting of the yard, you can highlight significant decorative items in your landscape design.

First you need to think about the functionality of the lighting. What is it about? This is illumination of the facade of the building, illumination of the terrace, gazebo, train to the garage, bathhouse and main entrance. And only then you can decorate other elements. As landscape design professionals advise, lighting should be placed so that at night the outline of the perimeter of the yard, as well as how to move around it, is clearly visible. That's why some people light up their steps and garden paths.

Where else can you install lights in the yard? A flowerbed, garden sculpture, pond, rock garden, trees or shrubs - all of this can be highlighted. Lanterns, lamps, garlands, decorative lamps, etc. are used as lighting devices. Decide for yourself what to use and where.

Conclusion

As you can see, making your home and its grounds beautiful is not so difficult. It is important to adhere to the rules, decide on the layout of the yard and make all your dreams come true. In addition, you can create on the site dining area, a recreation area, an area for children, install a grill or barbecue, a gazebo, etc. All this decorates the yard near the house and makes it functional. Based on the free space on the territory and your financial capabilities. Then you will have a beautiful house with a yard, which will make living in even more pleasant.

Putting a private house in order is much more difficult than a city apartment. This is due to the presence garden territory, which needs constant care from a caring owner. And how could it be otherwise? After all, when we are at a dacha or in a country house, we spend most of our time not indoors, but in the yard.

A beautiful courtyard of a private house is the dream of many owners. But not everyone can afford to hire landscape designers who could develop a suitable project for its arrangement. So what? Let's try to do this ourselves, going through several stages to build a comfortable and beautiful home space.

First, you should consider what functionality you expect from your yard. Do you want to grow flower beds here, relax on a sun lounger or maybe raise fish in artificial pond? For all these types of activities, a place should be allocated, that is, the space should be divided into functional areas.

Cozy garden furniture and a fireplace formed a seating area at the back wall of the house.

Think about which areas are necessary for you (for example, a playground - if you have children), which are desirable, and which are easy to refuse. If the yard is small, then optimal solution will combine some zones. For example, put folding chairs on the lawn that can be easily removed and turn the seating area into... a golf course.

Stage #2. We separate zones with screens, fences, arches

For visual differentiation, it is optimal to take advantage of landscaping opportunities. In this case, the garden boundaries will be hedges, dense bushes, and tall perennial plants.

The shade from the thickets of derain allows you to relax on a garden bench on hot summer days

A squat picket fence can surround a recreation area or a football field. The main thing is not to overload the fence. It should look “airy” and not dominate the garden space.

A natural addition to such a fence is often an arch or pergola over the path leading to functional area. Such structures are especially decorative, overgrown with climbing roses, clematis, morning glory and other beautiful flowering vines.

If you need to create a small shady corner, closed from neighbors, try using the most simple designs- trellises or garden trellises. Entwined with climbing plants, they create the impression of a solid green wall.

To protect the dining garden area from wind and sun, trellises and a traditional pergola were used

In open areas, garden screens and screens are often used to create a limited area. Additionally, they serve to create shade and protection from the wind. The most popular such designs are frames with padded slats, wooden panels with carved perforations. Partitions made of bamboo, rattan or wicker look very beautiful and stylish.

A light screen made of reed mats enhances the oriental flavor of a small garden

Stage #3. We think over the paving of platforms and paths

In the front area of the yard, paving made of paving stones, concrete slabs, cut stone (sandstone, limestone, granite, basalt) is appropriate. A popular solution is to leave a soil space between the slabs and fill it with pebbles, sand, and glass granules. Or unpretentious ones are planted in “pockets” low growing plants: juveniles, rock cloves, saxifrage, thyme, etc.

An area paved with irregularly shaped granite slabs is especially suitable for a patio.

You can use wood cuts to pave the paths of an informal yard. The space between them is filled with sawdust and crushed bark. Such solutions, close to nature, will look especially advantageous in shady corners yard, among bushes and trees.

A path made from round saw cuts looks natural and original

The gaps between the cuts can also be filled with small crushed stone, gravel or sand. Then the paths will become more elegant and discreet. In this form they can be placed in ceremonial flower beds, mixborders and even near front door Houses.

In recent years, designers have begun to use narrow boards tightly fitted to each other as paving paths. The wooden sidewalk is painted or varnished. Instead of regular boards It’s more convenient to use sections of ready-made garden parquet – decking.

The decking path is quickly installed and does not need repair for many years

When choosing paving material, you should sketch out on paper a plan for future paths and areas. The closer they are to home, the more reserved they should be. Paving stones, bricks, decking, and slabs are more appropriate here. In various “thematic” areas: near an impromptu pond, a bridge, in a rock garden or in stylized mixborders, paving is supposed to be more informal. It is better if it is messy, with irregular shapes, made of gravel, sand, crushed stone, wood mulch and others natural materials.

Stage #4. Landscaping the yard

To create a beautiful yard with your own hands, sometimes all you need to do is choose and arrange the right plantings.

Start with trees and shrubs. They add variety to the geometry of the garden, create natural shady areas, and protect from the wind. In addition, they help to focus attention on significant details of the garden. For example, a free-standing chestnut tree helps to “notice” a garden bench located in its shade. A rose bush on the lawn brings bright notes to the monotony of the green lawn. And juniper bushes, densely planted along the garden path, emphasize its outlines and create a natural border.

A mixed border of various conifers can be a replacement for a parterre flower garden near the house

To add bright notes to your yard design, you can’t do without bright plantings. flowering plants. With their help you can create beautiful multi-colored or monochromatic landscapes. Conceiving a flowerbed for a small local area, give preference to a set of plants whose flowering periods occur continuously one after another. This flower bed will delight you all season long. bright colors.

Flower planting are able to make even the most boring yard with heavy buildings interesting and bright

Courtyards filled with flowers always attract the eye. But areas with a predominance of decorative foliage plants look no less original, although more restrained. Among them, species with sculpturally outlined, large leaves of unusual tones are especially valued. In ferns they are lacy and long, in hostas they are large, corrugated, in heucheras they are painted in multi-colored tones.

A yard with decorative foliage plants looks noble

Lawns have become very popular in recent years. Sometimes the entire free area of the yard is planted with cereal grasses. However, do not think that there will be little hassle with this landscaping option. The inevitable trampling of grass, the need for overseeding, regular walks with a lawn mower - this is just a small list of what you will have to face.

A thick, evenly trimmed lawn does not lose its position as one of the most decorative elements of the yard

More and more often there are beautiful courtyards in dachas, the areas of which are completely paved with stone or paving stones. This is done to maintain the required style or for convenience - such a yard is easy to keep clean. To green this area, plants are used in flowerpots, which are put outside in the summer and brought indoors for storage in the winter. In this way, you can place any heat-loving exotics in your yard: cypress, azalea, yucca, lemon, pomegranate, etc.

Exotic, heat-loving plants in containers emphasize Mediterranean style garden

Another way to decorate your yard involves vertical gardening. Landing climbing vines on supports allows you to plant many plants in a small area and create a relief volume of the garden. You can use existing buildings and structures in the yard as supports: fences, poles, tree trunks, gazebos. Special supports - trellises, trellises, pergolas, arches - along with their supporting function, play the role of delimiters of garden space.

Abundant flowering climbing roses on garden arches

Stage #5. We use decorative elements

It will be easier to decorate the yard beautifully, as professional designers do, if you use special decorative elements.

Large garden decorations give the garden a stylistic direction, add the necessary accents, and create dynamics. Various sculptures, fountains, obelisks are placed in open areas, in courtyards, patios, and flower beds.

Small decorations are also relevant - they add a special charm to the yard design. People especially love garden figurines in the form of animals or fairy-tale characters. The main thing is not to overdo it with their number, so as not to turn the yard into a children's playground. Although for families with children this is not so bad!

Wooden figurines of gophers, placed in plantings, diversify the interior of the yard

In modern landscape design, a combination of decorative role with functional. Various birdhouses, bird feeders, and squirrel nests are traditionally a manifestation of care for the animal world. But, in an unusual, original design, they will adequately decorate the courtyard interior. Stylized fencing made of vines, decorative flowerpots, and wicker garden screens can become art objects with useful properties.

Fun colorful containers made from metal barrels- an original idea for a decorative vegetable garden

Stage #6. We design artificial reservoirs

Having your own pool is the dream of many homeowners. In large areas, concrete structures are appropriate, the bottom and walls of which are decorated with PVC film or mosaic. The second popular option is the use of ready-made rigid forms made of PVC or composites. For small areas or seasonal dachas It is preferable to use inflatable pools.

A swimming pool in landscape design combines the beauty of an artificial reservoir and functionality

If a pool is more of a functional element, then another artificial body of water - a pond - is intended to be admired. The easiest way to build it is to line the bottom of a dug pit with PVC film.

When creating a pond “a la naturel”, its banks are decorated with pebbles and natural stones. Moisture-loving plants are planted around: reeds, sedges, marsh iris, water mint. You can also engage in aquatic plant growing by planting water lilies, lotuses, egg capsules, bladderworts, and urut on the bottom of the pond. Some green inhabitants of reservoirs are free-floating and do not need planting as such. Among them we can highlight waterweed, duckweed, and salvinia.

You can't swim in such a pond, but you can breed aquatic plants and fish

The pond can be supplemented with an artificial waterfall. The sound of water flowing from stone cliffs will help you immerse yourself in a state of relaxation and will be especially relevant next to the recreation area. Falling water is also characteristic of the fountain, which, in its modern design, takes on the most unexpected forms. Streams of water can escape from under the surface of a pond, fall from an improvised millstone, or flow out of a jug.

The movement of water in a pond can be easily created using a simple fountain

Stage #7. We create functional lighting

You can decorate your yard as beautifully as in the photo below if you apply elements garden lighting: electric or powered solar powered. In addition to their main purpose - illuminating the area, they are able to add a special charm to the garden interior.

With proper placement of garden lights, lamps and lamps, the yard at night will look magical

Garden paths, sculptures, plants, pools and ponds are usually illuminated. With the help of small LED lamps, built into the paving of the site, at night you can achieve the effect of a starry sky under your feet. Floating lamps in the shape of water lilies create an incredible feeling of a blooming oasis on the water. And lanterns on poles along the sides of the garden path will illuminate your path from the gate to the house.

Floating solar-powered lights offer a different look at the night pond

Thoughtful and well-designed lighting can become the most beautiful element landscape interior. If you apply all the above design principles in practice, you will easily be able to create a yard design that best suits your ideas about beauty and comfort.

Having your own estate requires much more effort from the owners than an apartment in the city. And a considerable part of these efforts is aimed at the surroundings of the house. Despite the fact that dacha preferences are already beginning to be forgotten, when the main area around a residential building was allocated for planting edible plants - a garden and vegetable garden, and even turning Vacation home The owners also don’t really want to go to a village yard with beds and sheds for raising livestock; anyway, you can’t leave the yard empty. Nowadays, a solid mansion (or at least a cute mansion), surrounded by picturesque surroundings, where it is so pleasant to relax, is in fashion. And watching well-groomed suburban areas on movie screens or magazine pages, many owners wonder whether it is possible to landscape the yard of a private house with their own hands.

The yard of a private house in general

Each of us has our own tastes and preferences. And they are most often expressed not by loud statements, but by the surrounding environment. And any little thing that truly brings joy to our hearts clearly gives an idea of who we are. Therefore, before you take on landscaping the yard of a private house, try to see in your mind’s eye the overall picture of the planned activities and think about whether it will coincide with your personal idea of convenience and beauty. After all, you understand - if in a year some creative ideas, so enthusiastically perceived today, make you curse the presence of a personal territory, then instead of relaxation you will get exclusively headache. By the way, such ideas for landscaping the courtyard of a private house are often photographed and posted on the Internet, and seeing such beauty, it is difficult to resist the temptation to try it on your own site.

However, let's move on to more specific things. So, what exactly do we want to have in the yard of our house? There are a lot of options, but some values are almost always present. Such details include:

  • terrace or patio
  • garage, by the way, there is also parking for guests nearby
  • bathhouse - it is better to build it separately from a residential building
  • summer shower (though this is more rustic style, however, if designed correctly, it can decorate even a modern villa)
  • summer kitchen, which recently looks more and more like a kebab shop and is an area with a fireplace or barbecue
  • household buildings, in simple terms - sheds, for storing various equipment that has no place in the house
  • dog enclosure
  • playground
  • a web of paths connecting all buildings into a single ensemble
  • various green spaces: trees, shrubs, flower beds, lawns and other floristic thickets
  • decorative elements: garden sculptures, lanterns, alpine coaster, rock gardens and other area decorations

It seems like the list is small, but if you start to implement it, and even with your own additions such as gazebos, fountains, ponds or other landscape design tricks, then there may not be enough space for everything. Therefore, first you should play with the plan of the yard of a private house, try to arrange everything on paper (remembering the ravines, of course). And only after your design for the yard of a private house becomes the most optimal, you can begin marking the yard itself and building the personal buildings you have chosen. And landscaping will have to be done as a last resort, when all objects are in their places with communications connected.

Here's how you can arrange the yard of a private house - photo selection:

Layout of the yard of a private house - some details

It would seem that everything has already been said about planning - imagine, draw on the plan and do it. But this is just a sketch. In the same way, we can say about the birth of a child - to conceive, bear and give birth, nothing complicated... And yet, even an unborn baby requires vigilant care and constant trouble, and yet we do not have to independently develop a project for a new person, such responsibilities are taken on by Mother Nature herself. And when landscaping your own yard, you will have to work a little as a demiurge - in a separate country farm.

Of course, the best thing would be general planning of the entire complex, starting from the residential building and ending with the thickets behind the fence. But even if the mansion itself already proudly flaunts facade finishing, all is not lost yet. Considering that in the end we want to get something integral, the entire interior of the courtyard of a private house should be designed in the same style, this applies to both buildings and decorative elements.

First of all, let's evaluate our personal plot - its size and landscape. If the area is not too large, you should not clutter it with a large number of outbuildings. Choose only the essentials or simply combine several elements with each other. A parking lot with a canopy can easily replace a full-fledged garage; combining a patio with a small barbecue will also save space, and it is recommended to add an additional room to the bathhouse where household supplies and firewood will be stored. For a vast courtyard, there are no restrictions other than aesthetic ones.

And now a little about arranging the yard of a private house - photo various options:

Decorating the yard of a private house - building codes

However, in any case, it is necessary to comply with building regulations, for example, the distance from buildings to the road and other outbuildings. Residential buildings are erected at least 3 meters from regular roads and 6 meters from the highway. We hope that your suburban area is located in a fairly remote place, because the proximity of highways negatively affects the ability to enjoy clean air and sounds of nature. Housing and outbuildings (sheds and garage) should be separated from each other by at least 7 meters, move your dog’s enclosure away from the house at least 4 meters, but wells, separate toilets and compost pits (what if you decide to to build them) you need to build no closer than 15 meters from the house. The fence should be separated from any buildings by a meter and a half, or even more, so that it can be carried out as needed different kinds repair work, but enough tall plants(bushes and trees) - depending on their height - at a distance of one to three meters.

Having fully planned the arrangement of the courtyard of a private house with all the ancillary buildings, we move on to marking the paths. They should be no narrower than 75 cm - this is again a requirement building codes. If the size of the area allows, make a circular path along the entire area - you will get a great cycling track for your children. In general, it is better to make these sidewalks with smooth, rounded bends and turns, because such a design for the courtyard of a private house will allow you to visually increase the area and even smooth out the sharp corners in family life. Although in different styles the paths differ in their appearance and material, but more on that a little later.

Here's a look at what the interior of the courtyard of a private house looks like - the photo wonderfully demonstrates all the details:

Landscape design of the courtyard of a private house

We have dealt with the dirtiest and most financially intensive stage - construction is completed, everything we need for comfortable life the buildings are already in place, to which paths have been laid. And now is the time to start putting the territory itself in order, that is, to become a landscape designer.

It is most convenient, of course, to work with a flat surface - here the flight of imagination is simply uncontrollable, because you can depict anything on a blank sheet of paper. If you want, plant a park, plant flower beds, sow lawns, install fountains or gazebos overgrown with vines - for every taste and color. But if the terrain resembles Russian roads, where there is a ravine on a gulley and seven bends per mile, then you still need to be able to turn all the shortcomings into an individual and original face of your territory. But - you can cast aside any doubts - no one will be able to repeat such a design.

But in any case, decorating a yard using landscape design requires special knowledge. And they consist not only in the ability to beautifully use all the features of the site. Much more often, botanical knowledge is needed - which plants are best planted in your area. So that they are pleasing to the eye, do not require special care (it’s unlikely that you want to hire a gardener or constantly care for green spaces yourself), and feel excellent in your climatic conditions.

So to begin with independent work over the landscape it is necessary to clearly define everything environmental factors affecting plants:

  • the amount of light getting to your green pets (this is both general data on the approximate insolation of a given area, and specific data on your site - some flowers are planted under trees, in the shade, on the north side, while others need almost constantly illuminated by the sun clearing)
  • temperature environment(here we need data on the average temperature of summer and winter)
  • humidity - both ground and air (that is, not only the average amount of precipitation, but also the proximity of groundwater)
  • relief of the territory
  • chemical composition of soil (chernozem, loam and others), water (acidity or alkalinity) and air

Knowing all the conditions, you can easily find those types of plants that will grow normally on your site without any additional investments. And from the complete list you can select those that you like or fit into overall design courtyard of a private house. Photos of plants in encyclopedias or simply on the Internet will help you make right choice, however, you still need to take into account that in such cases the photographs not only show the most successful specimens, but also professional photographers try to choose the most advantageous angle. So you’ll get an idea, but you still shouldn’t count on the same perfect result in your own yard.

How to decorate the yard of a private house - different styles

You have already decided on all the little things, but something in the depths of your soul is gnawing with uncertainty - whether everything has been done correctly. Sometimes it happens. Some people are only satisfied with the ideal that just begs to be featured on the pages of a magazine about the lives of successful people. Well, the ideal is what each of us should strive for. Therefore, now we will slightly analyze the already recognized styles of decorating the courtyard of a private house, the photos of which many people look at.

So, the main division of styles is into classic (regular) or landscape (natural). Moreover, a regular style implies strict lines and clear geometric shapes both path buildings and plantings. It is believed that this style softens the storm of feelings among city dwellers who have returned to nature due to the outlines that are more familiar to the city. But I warn you right away, a regular style requires constant and tireless work on maintaining shape, otherwise in a year or two from your classic style Only the horns and legs will remain - everything will be overgrown at random. With the natural style, everything is much simpler. Here you don’t need to be so obsessed with “driving” the plants into frames. Quite the contrary, the result of all efforts should be the visible naturalness of the landscape.

However, as you yourself understand, everyone has their own concept of naturalness. Some people think that suburban area must be garden trees, some people prefer park crops, while others prefer flower beds and shrubs. Therefore, the landscape style is divided into several (or even many) different categories, mainly differing in the peoples from which these styles came. If you look through the information about the styles of decorating the yard of a private house, you will mainly see the following names:

  • French style (one of the varieties of regular)
  • English (or landscape) style, strict but natural
  • Slavic style - slightly careless, but for the environment wooden house nothing better has been invented
  • Japanese style (elegance and ability to relax even on a tiny patch of stone garden)
  • European country style - somewhat similar to Slavic, but more orderly
  • Art Nouveau style is the last word in landscape design and modern architecture, allows you to combine the interior space of the house with the surrounding nature at the level of sensations

Of course, this is far from full list- There are many peoples and styles too. You can add Chinese, Mediterranean, and Alpine, but let’s not scatter. Why does a person living far from the sea need a Mediterranean style? Therefore, only those styles that may be useful in our conditions were listed. The choice is yours.

And I want to warn you right away - please decide in advance for yourself whether you want to live peacefully on your private estate and enjoy the delights of the surrounding landscape or whether you need to become the envy of your neighbors. Because in the latter case relaxing holiday you are in no danger - after all, you will need to constantly return to your yard that very ideal look that should outshine everything around it. But even in this case, you will be quite capable of doing everything yourself. Good luck!

Friends, the topic of landscaping the local area is very broad and varied, you can touch on some aspects every day and not repeat yourself for a long time. So today I would like to consider the issue of designing recreation areas using examples that seemed interesting and worthy of attention to me.

A beautiful solution with a wooden platform with a carved stone “pond” in the middle. Also, my attention was drawn to the vertical stone cabinets decorated with moss on top. Some elements can be applied on your site.

The idea of a small patio with tiled paving, the corner, although small, is quite functional. I would recommend finishing the composition with a small round table.

An original solution for landscape design of a small area of a private house. This is the entrance to the site. At the same time, the paving path is made in the form of an arc, and the patio with a bench is in the shape of a semicircle, supported by a gravel backfill.

A seating area on the paved patio with a fireplace for friends and family to gather around. Two rounded areas are united by step tiles placed at the narrowest point of contact between these design elements.

Another interesting idea for landscaping in a private house - two different-sized areas are connected by a walking path made of square tiles. The far patio is decorated under a pergola, with climbing plants growing along the structure.

An elegant combination of lawn and tiles at the entrance to the house. Plants are planted on the sides of the plot, in raised beds; the plot with a barbecue area is organized on a gravel backfill.

The idea of a raised terrace in a corner of the garden, with potted plants placed around the perimeter of the site. To complete the composition, I recommend organizing a canopy.

Upbeat idea wooden platform and gravel backfill with rounded step elements. Such an area will not require mowing; the area will always be clean and dry.

A round patio will fit advantageously in the corner of the site; it can be edged with a border stone; in the middle of the circle, you can organize a fireplace or barbecue to add liveliness to the whole composition.

An example of a combination of various backfills on a site. A path made of fine gray crushed stone, a recreation area with whitish gravel, flower beds sprinkled with wood chips. Caring for mulched flower beds is much easier, since weeds simply cannot break through the mulch layer.

A summer version of a recreation area under a fabric umbrella on a tiled paving area.

Design idea small plot around the house using round design elements. Two areas, one of which is made of tiled paving, and the second is a combination of paving and rolled lawn.

The idea of a small area with a lawn; in the background there are places for placing potted plants. The lawn will require care, watering, mowing, and weed control.

I call such solutions geometry of shapes; of course, they look stylish, fresh and beautiful. But, of course, it requires due attention. However, if you are determined to create beauty on your site, then you can do anything!

An interesting solution for landscape design in the style of a regular garden. It turned out very nice, despite the fact that the area is quite small.

I would especially like to dwell on this simple solution for a small area. Simple paving in the center, plus flower beds level with planted plants.

And this solution already combines both a terrace and a gravel backfill. The flower beds in this case are made in the form of elevated podiums and supported by tub inclusions.

The rest area may not even be highlighted or separated in any way if it is done in a contrasting style. For example, in the case as in the photo, the patio and lawn are clearly separated, while there is no border, as such, between these design elements.

And immediately another example, where, precisely, the border is not just visible, but made in the form of a raised retaining wall. The plot has a slight slope and the patio area seems to crash into the lawn field.

Well, according to tradition, returning to the first photo, I would like to note the creative approach to creating this design. Smooth curves of borders, gravel backfill, planter elements, vertical gardening, a carpet of lawn in the foreground - the composition is complete and deserves our attention!
