71). War Thunder will receive a lot of new equipment with the New Era update (1.71) Economy and development

The game will feature something that many have been waiting for - modern tanks. Well, almost modern. The game will introduce technology from the second half of the twentieth century. Alas, these are really high-level vehicles only in words - in the game itself these are sixth-rank vehicles. So, if you don’t have the fifth rank yet, it’s time to actively earn it, because the new ground vehicles are worth it. As the developers report in their diaries, all nations that have their own ground vehicle research tree will receive rank six vehicles.

Among the new things you will find Soviet know-how T-64A, western tanks M60A1 RISE (PASSIVE), MBT-70 and many more representatives of the second post-war generation of tanks. And the legendary one will be the icing on the cake BMP-1. Along with new tanks, new technologies will appear, such as combined armor and dynamic protection.

By the way, the developers promised that they would reduce the price differences between the fifth and sixth ranks, and they would not be as serious as between the fourth and fifth. In addition, they plan to adjust the cost of upgrades and vehicles at rank five.

“But it’s famous not only for tanks!”- players who prefer air combat will say. For them, various experimental aircraft will be added to the game like XA-38 Grizzly. And the introduction of modern aircraft is still in development. The main reason for this delay, most likely, is the difficulty of balancing - just imagine self-guided missiles and powerful fighter jets from the Vietnam War.

One way or another, in addition to post-war tanks, new models of air and ground equipment from other periods will actually be added to the game, as well as new battle maps. One of these maps will be the location Fulda Corridor, the legendary area on the border of two Germanys, where the Third World War could begin.

  • A new method of setting up smoke screens has been added - thermal smoke equipment. The smoke screen is deployed in the direction of the tank's movement; the deployment time and the number of activations of the TDA are limited. The modification will be available to all tanks that actually had such equipment. At the moment these are IT-1, T-62, T-55A, T-64A, T-10M.
  • On rank 5-6 vehicles equipped with automatic loaders (MBT-70/KPz-70/T-64 1971/Object 120/Object 906/BMP-1), the reload speed no longer depends on the skill of the loader.
  • For ATGM carriers, hitting a missile or launcher now makes it impossible to fire the missile in all game modes. The parameters of the ATGM and guide materials have been changed in such a way that they can be damaged and fail when hit by rifle-caliber bullets.
  • A bug with limiting the operating range of a tank rangefinder in RB/SB to 2000 m has been fixed: now range measurement is possible at distances from 2500 to 5000 m, depending on the type of rangefinder. On rank 6 tanks - 5000 m when using stereo and laser rangefinders.
  • For armor-piercing high-explosive (HESH) projectiles, the armor-piercing effect has been improved: now secondary fragments when armor is hit are formed normal to the surface of the armor, and not in the direction of impact of the projectile.
  • A bug has been fixed that made it possible for secondary fragments to form from a cumulative jet when a module was not penetrated through, for example, when the breech of a gun was hit. As a result, the jet did not pierce this module right through, but secondary fragments from the hit were formed and hit other modules and the crew.
  • The values of the armor slope effect (slope effect) of armor-piercing high-explosive (HESH) projectiles have been clarified for the angle range from 30 to 10 degrees. Penetration for the indicated angles has been reduced.

Gaijin Entertainment announced the release of update 1.71 “New Era” for the multiplayer action game War Thunder. It added a sixth rank of ground vehicles, almost three dozen tanks and aircraft, new maps and a number of other innovations to the game.

The sixth rank of ground vehicles features vehicles from the sixties and seventies, which display the features of modern tanks. Combined and reactive armor enhances protection against cumulative shells and missiles, gun stabilizers make it possible to fire while moving, and smoke screens allow you to strike again after an unsuccessful attack. With hydraulic suspensions and anti-tank guided missiles, players have new ways to make precision strikes in difficult terrain.

At the sixth rank, the Soviet T-64A and BMP-1, the American M60A1 RISE (P) and MBT-70, the British Chieftain Mk.10 and FV102 Striker, as well as the German KPz-70 become available. New tanks and aircraft also appeared at other ranks. Among the new products is the American XA-38 Grizzly attack aircraft with a 75-mm cannon, designed to destroy heavily armored ground vehicles. Another striking example is the Soviet Be-6 flying boat with five 23 mm cannons in three turrets, capable of carrying up to four tons of bombs.

Update 1.71 added to War Thunder the most modern map by the standards of the game - the Fulda Corridor. This is a valley on the border between West and East Germany with an old castle and a wind farm. Another new map is “Imperial Garden”, which is a picturesque Japanese village at the foot of the mountains.

Among other things, the game now features a view from an aircraft turret. It is available on more than 50 aircraft with a single shooting point.

The release of the “New Era” update has already taken place. War Thunder is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Android.

The developers have prepared a new update that added a wide variety of content to the game. The developers report dozens of tanks, planes, maps, new camera modes and other innovations.

As the site has learned, update 1.71 “New Era” for War Thunder has been released. The update brings to the game: the sixth rank of ground vehicles, about three dozen aircraft and tanks, as well as maps. It is worth noting the new camera mode, which demonstrates what is happening from the perspective of the aircraft gunner.

The sixth rank of equipment refers to real-life vehicles from the 60s and 70s, which laid the foundation for modern tank designers. Two new types of armor have appeared: dynamic and combined. The developers expect that all this will increase the interest and dynamism of the ongoing battles.

With the new update, the Soviet T-64A and BMP-1 tanks, the British Chieftain Mk.10 and FV102 Striker, the American M60A1 RISE (P) and MBT-70, and the German KPz-70 appeared in the game. The list of tank names does not end there, and fans of other countries will be able to choose from a total of two dozen armored death machines. In terms of aviation, players can expect the American XA-38 Grizzly. It is worth noting the Soviet flying boat Be-6.

New Era brought to War Thunder a state-of-the-art map called the Fulda Gap, which lies on the borders between West and East Germany. The map will offer interesting points not only for fans of close combat, but also for snipers. In addition, the game will include the maps “Hürtgen Forest” and “Imperial Garden”.

According to the site, the game War Thunder has been in beta testing since November 2012. The full release took place in December 2016, but even after the release the developers continue to work on the game, regularly releasing new content in the form of free updates.
