Customs and import charges
When you buy from an international seller, you"ll often have to pay import charges. These charges are generally based on the item"s price, weight, dimensions, and country of origin, as well as any local taxes, duties, and fees .
Buying internationally with the Global Shipping Program
When you see the Global Shipping Program logo, the listing will give an estimate of both shipping and import charges. This includes everything from processing and handling fees, to international shipping. You"ll see the final charges when you confirm your delivery details at checkout, before you pay.
When you use the Global Shipping Program, the seller sends the item to the global shipping center. From there, it's shipped to you.
Final Charges at Checkout
You need to use PayPal for GSP items, and your payment will be split into two transactions:
- The first payment goes to the seller. It covers the item price and any domestic shipping costs for the seller to send the item to the global shipping provider
- The second payment goes to the global shipping provider. It covers the international shipping cost and any import charges
After you"ve completed payment, you"ll be able to see both the total cost and the amounts paid to the seller and the global shipping provider on the Order details page.
Import charges
Import charges for items purchased through the Global Shipping Program include fees charged by the global shipping provider.

Buying internationally from non-Global Shipping Program sellers
If you"re buying from a seller who isn"t participating in GSP, your seller, or the international shipping service they"re working with, will manage the customs forms and charge you for the delivery at checkout. However, you may still have to pay any necessary customs, import fees, and taxes, when your item arrives.
Your seller might be able to give you some information about import charges, but before you bid on, or buy an item, it"s a good idea to check with your country"s customs office for more specific details.
Before you click the coveted Buy It Now button and worry about choosing delivery, you should make sure that the seller ships the goods to your country. Under the price field there is a Shipping line, which indicates in which country the product is located and to which countries the seller ships it.

The essence of the program comes down to the organization of a global center, where all goods will initially be received, and then sorted and sent directly to their destination.
To use this program, the seller only needs to join the number of its participants. As a result, the seller does not violate the agreed delivery conditions, but at the same time carries out international sales. Schematically it looks like this:
It turns out that the seller, after confirming payment for an international order, sends it to a single processing center for the GSP program. Here he reports all the coordinates about the buyer and the delivery address. As soon as the parcel is received and registered at the center, the seller’s role actually ends there, since the employees of the GSP single center handle the registration of customs documentation and sending the parcel directly to the addressee.
It is important to note that the running program has some limitations:
The goods purchased by the buyer must be geographically located in the seller’s warehouse in the United States;
Payment for goods must be made exclusively through PayPal;
The weight of the package and product must not exceed 66 pounds;
Naturally, the purchased product must be included by the seller in the GSP program;
The cost of the goods, excluding the cost of processing and delivery, should not exceed $2,500;
Goods must not fall into the category of prohibited goods for shipment.
