We install ventilation for plastic windows. How to install a supply valve on a window: step-by-step installation Air flow to plastic windows

Ventilation devices come in different designs, but they are all small holes in a plastic window through which air from the street enters the frame and passes there short period and gets inside the room.

The valves are adjustable, so the flow will flow in the amount required by the owner, and if desired, it will be completely blocked.

Most often used for domestic purposes, but also popular for industrial, commercial and office premises.

What is it needed for:

  1. The room is ventilated around the clock. Thanks to the installed valve, air from the street enters the apartment. And even in winter, when normal ventilation is impossible, ventilation will provide a constant flow of freshness. Also, you can manually adjust the intensity of ventilation or completely block the passage channels.
  2. It is possible to ventilate the room without dust, noise, insects and painful drafts. Fresh air from the street enters a special space inside the frame. Passing through it, the air warms up (this applies to winter, when it’s cold outside) and enters the room without dust and insects.
  3. The microclimate of the room improves. Ventilation reduces the level of carbon dioxide and humidity. It becomes unlikely that windows will fog up and that mold or other viruses will form. Thus, the housing microclimate becomes significantly better.

Advantages:

  1. The room is ventilated with the windows closed, making intruders less likely to penetrate.
  2. Easy to use– set it and forget it.
  3. Keeps the apartment warm when ventilating.
  4. Increases the service life of the premises, due to normal humidity levels and the absence of mold or mildew (such problems are especially relevant for balconies and kitchen areas).

Valve- this is a hole in a plastic window through which air from the street enters the frame, passes a small gap there and enters the room. The hole sizes can be adjusted to suit the required flow.

Varieties

There are three types of ventilation valves:

Folded

The principle of seam ventilation

This is the simplest and most economical option. The influx of fresh air is carried out through small slots in the vestibule. This type practically preserves sound insulation, but has very little throughput, which is why ventilation will be inadequate.

No disassembly required for installation plastic windows. Valves of this type are installed in already installed structures, which is their main advantage.

Slotted

This type has a large throughput. Ventilation occurs due to the gap, which is 12–16 mm high and 170–400 mm wide. From the outside, the hole is covered with a passage block, which prevents the entry of dust and insects.

Also mounted in installed plastic frames, but more effective in comparison with the folded type.

Invoices

They provide the best ventilation, however, they have some disadvantages. Firstly, they cannot be installed ready-made plastic construction, since it is necessary to prepare a place on the frame for it in advance. Secondly, they have poor sound and heat insulation.

This type is best used in production workshops.

Criterias of choice

So that the installed ventilation device brings maximum effect, you need to select best option for every occasion.

Therefore, valves differ in the following characteristics:

  1. Air exchange parameters: the influx must be supplied in the required volume, calculating 30 m 3 /hour per person.
  2. Noise level: Basically, plastic windows have a reading of 30–35 dB.
  3. Operation in winter: the valve must have the necessary thermal insulation to prevent icing and not interfere with ventilation.
  4. Adjustment option: Automatic, manual and mixed control is possible.
  5. Installation method: do you need to choose whether the valve will be installed in old windows or whether new double-glazed windows will be ordered with ventilation calculations?

Attention! Do not consider options without the ability to regulate the level of air exchange. As practice shows, this parameter is necessary.

Types of structures

The most popular at the moment are two options: Aereco and Air-Box. Let's look at their features and operating principle.

Aereco

Aereco valves

  1. EMM. The most common option, which is equipped with hygroregulation technology. The built-in sensor regulates the width of the hole depending on the humidity of the room. This type of structure can be mounted vertically or at an angle. Available in three colors: oak, teak and white. Throughput – 5–35 m 3 /hour.
  2. ENA2. It is also equipped with a sensor, but has a higher air flow rate - 5–50 m3/hour and more advanced acoustic capabilities (42 dB, versus the usual 37).

Air-Box

Air-Box Comfort ventilation valve

The Russian company Mabitek has also released a line of ventilation valves.

They are installed on blocks of any design and are practically invisible:

  1. Standard. This is a standard option, which consists of two parts: an external one, which collects air, and an internal one, which supplies it to the room. When ventilation is running, the valve flaps open and let through about 6 m3/hour.
  2. Comfort. A noise-proof option that involves installation in a window profile or sealing rubber, which is much simpler and faster.
  3. Comfort S. Suitable for fixed windows. Through holes are drilled, due to which direct blowing occurs.

Air-Box is a leader among other valves due to its economical cost, efficiency, small size and ease of installation.

Installation

Installation diagram

Almost all companies that sell valves offer installation services. Their cost is low, but the amount of work is small. We suggest you read the instructions for self-installation. As an example, we will tell you how to install a slot-type ventilation device.

Required materials and tools:

  • construction knife;
  • screwdriver;
  • ruler;
  • valve;
  • seal and plugs;

Step by step guide:

  1. Remove everything unnecessary from the windowsill.
  2. Open window.
  3. On the upper sealing rubber measure the length of the purchased valve.
  4. With a knife make two cuts and remove the intermediate piece.
  5. Install instead new sealing rubber.
  6. Measure distance from the edge of the window to the beginning of the new seal.
  7. Set aside the same distance on the top sash of the open window and make a cut in the seal.
  8. Measure the length of the future valve on the flap and make a second cut.
  9. Remove the intermediate piece.
  10. Instead of the old seal install three plugs with the wide side facing up. They should move freely on the side of the window.
  11. Install plugs at a distance corresponding to the valve mountings.
  12. Peel off the strip double sided tape on the valve and glue it to the window, pressing it tightly against the installed plugs.
  13. Screw in the screws in fastenings.
  14. Glue shorter seals between fastenings.

Methods of regulation

Valve with hygroregulation sensor

Depending on the structure and mechanism, the ventilation device can regulate the level of air exchange or block it. Management of this process can be automated or manual.

The first option is equipped with a hygroregulation (moisture sensitivity) sensor, according to which the throughput changes. If the room has a high level of humidity, the width of the hole will be maximum.

Otherwise, when the room is empty, the air supply is cut off. In the manual version, you have to constantly adjust the width of the section for a comfortable stay. The only thing this option is designed for is limitation in case of strong gusts of wind.

Another very important advantage of ventilation valves is easy maintenance. For proper operation, it is enough to clean the surface of dirt once a year. This is the necessary maintenance.

Price and reviews

A ventilation valve is only an addition to a plastic window, so its cost should not exceed the price of a regular double-glazed window. On average, the best option is 20–40 USD. e.

Examples of prices:

  1. Aereco EMM with standard visor white– 3000 rubles.
  2. Aereco EMM with a standard visor in oak or teak color – 3100 rubles.
  3. Aereko ENA2 with a standard white visor – 3900 rubles.
  4. Aereko ENA2 with a white acoustic visor – 4900 rubles.
  5. Aereko ENA2 with a standard visor in oak or teak color - 4,200 rubles.
  6. Aereko ENA2 with an acoustic visor in oak or teak color – 5,200 rubles.
  7. Air-Box Standard white – 560 rubles.
  8. Air-Box Comfort S white – 750 rubles.

Reviews:

Catherine:

In the summer, we open the windows at night so that the children sleep in the fresh air. In winter this is no longer possible. Even if you ventilate the room right before going to bed, after 30-40 minutes it will feel stuffy again. That is why two valves were installed. Now it’s fresh all day long, and there’s no wind at all. In general, the best option for a children's room.

Igor:

When we ordered windows for the whole house, we asked the manager about ventilation. She advised not to install valves, since in our climate they may freeze up in winter and not close. They are more suitable for Europe than for us.

Alexander:

We bought an apartment where the developers used windows with ventilation. We didn’t even know about their existence before, so we probably wouldn’t have ordered them. Now we have been using it for two years and are satisfied.

In general, if you are a lover of freshness and regularly ventilate your room, ventilation valves are made just for you.

Mold on slopes, stuffiness and “crying” windows are consequences of the tightness of modern plastic windows. Problems are solved by installing a valve supply ventilation for plastic windows.

Ventilation supply valves for PVC windows are mounted on the top of the window sash, creating an air supply to the room. Special design Ventilated windows keep out street noise, providing peace and quiet without creating drafts. Existing vent valve designs are suitable for aluminum windows, plastic and wooden.

With some skills and using our instructions, you can organize the supply ventilation of plastic windows yourself.

How does the inlet valve work?

It is possible to properly equip window supply ventilation only by understanding the mechanism of its operation. This is especially important, since to install the valve of the most common design, it will be necessary to cut a hole in the window 1 cm wide and about 30 cm long. At the end of the work, it is closed by the valve body. It will not be possible to remove the valve so as not to open the ventilation slot on the window profile.

The supply valve for PVC windows is part of passive ventilation. Cold air is sucked into the room and pushes out more warm air into the exhaust ventilation ducts. Movement is ensured by pressure differences, so natural ventilation operates when the outside air temperature is less than +5 degrees. In summer, passive ventilation will only work with forced exhaust.

Thus, for the operation of the supply valve, the following conditions are necessary:

  • The apartment must have proper natural exhaust ventilation. To check its operation, you should close the door to the apartment, open the window in the room as far away as possible from the ventilation duct and attach a piece of paper to the grille. If it holds, the hood is fine. Even when the hood does not draw well, the valve will slightly improve the air condition in the apartment, but its efficiency will be low;
  • The air temperature outside is less than +5 degrees;
  • There should be free air exchange between rooms in the apartment. That is, the doors are open or 2 cm wide gaps remain under them. Ventilation holes can be made at the bottom of the doors with total area 130 sq. see for bathroom doors and 200 sq. see for kitchen;
  • To prevent air leaks from the entrance, the entrance door should be sealed as much as possible.
  • Many owners are afraid of the ventilation supply valve for PVC windows freezing. Indeed, if the fresh air valve is not adjusted correctly, this phenomenon is possible. This is evidenced by numerous reviews from owners of plastic windows. In severe frosts, the valve should not be closed completely.

    Then it will be warmed up with warm air from the room and icing of the plastic window with ventilation is excluded.

    If the ventilation valve needs to be closed completely, the air supply gap is sealed on the outside. The gap is closed very carefully, ensuring complete impermeability.

    But you shouldn’t be afraid of an increase in noise in the apartment after installing a fresh air ventilation valve on a plastic window. The gap for the air supply is very small, so the noise insulation will decrease slightly, which is confirmed by reviews of ventilation supply valves for plastic windows.

    Efficiency of supply valves

    This question certainly arises for every owner of an apartment with metal-plastic windows without ventilation. To avoid wasting money, check the expected performance effect before purchasing a valve.

    Remove the seal from the top of the window sash. No need to cut it, just leave it hanging. To reduce air flow, push part of the elastic back into place. Leave the window in this state for several days. Please pay attention to the following parameters:

    • room temperature;
    • the presence of condensation on the glass;
    • whether there was street noise;
    • is there a draft?

    After the experiment, the seal is inserted into place.

    By the way, the air temperature in the room will become lower after installing a fresh air ventilation valve for plastic windows. After all, cold street air enters the room. If the apartment has excellent heating, the owners will not even notice a difference of 2-3 degrees. Otherwise, you will have to abandon installing a ventilation valve for a plastic window and think about purchasing an air supply unit with air heating.

    The need for supply valves on plastic windows

    There are owners who prefer warmth to fresh air. And they are wrong. In America and Europe, which have been using plastic windows for 30 years, there is a term “unhealthy building syndrome”. It applies specifically to sealed buildings with poor air exchange. Staying in such premises is harmful to humans. According to WHO, diseases caused by poor indoor air quality kill 5 thousand people every day. It is indoor air, not polluted street air! In America, up to 30 thousand people a year die from diseases caused by increasing concentrations of radon in apartments. Gas is released from the ground and building materials and accumulates in houses that are not equipped with plastic windows with ventilation. Radon is completely invisible without special devices.

    Air conditioning does not replace the ventilation of plastic windows!

    Inlet window valve-handle

    The ventilation valve for plastic windows is installed instead of the standard handle. Many owners of PVC windows do not want to install ventilation supply valves that protrude beyond the sash. Created for them convenient solution, allowing you to ventilate the room without disturbing the appearance.

    Advantages of window supply ventilation in the form of a handle valve:

    • The ventilation valve is located in the place where condensation usually appears on a plastic window. The valve creates natural air movement, especially important in the cold season;
    • Valve-handle combination and exhaust system ventilation creates a healthy indoor microclimate and removes excess moisture;
    • The supply ventilation valve in the form of a handle for plastic windows is a direct-flow design. According to the laws of physics, cold air entering a warm room does not create condensation. That is, the valve will not freeze in winter;
    • The valve is equipped with an air filter that prevents dust from entering the room. The filter is changed once every six months.

    There are still few reviews of the handle-shaped supply ventilation valve, because it is a new product. But the principle of its operation is similar to well-proven ventilation devices for metal-plastic windows. This design is also suitable as a ventilation valve for aluminum windows.

    Installing a valve for ventilation of a plastic window with your own hands is not difficult. The kit includes detailed instructions and a diagram of the location of the holes in the air chambers of the window sash. All fasteners are included.

    Installing a supply valve on a window with your own hands

    You can install the supply ventilation valve on a plastic window yourself. Home master with experience will spend no more than an hour on this.

    You will need the following tools:

    • ruler;
    • screwdriver or screwdriver;
    • sharp knife;
    • valve.

    The supply valve for plastic windows is installed on the flap of the window with your own hands. First you need to make a mark in the middle of the upper part of the sash using a ruler. The order of work depends on the valve design. So, in some cases, to equip a window with ventilation, you only need to replace the seal section with the one included in the kit. For other models you will have to make a gap in the profile. When choosing a ventilation valve for aluminum windows, it is preferable to go with the first option, since it is difficult to cut out the inlet slot accurately at home.

    Manufacturers usually supply their devices detailed instructions, allowing you to equip the ventilation of a plastic window with your own hands.

    Step-by-step instructions on how to install a supply valve for window ventilation in the video:

The systems on the market can be divided into three categories.

Slotted

The device is mounted in the upper part of the opening sash or vertical impost. To install, you have to dismantle some of the fittings and mill holes in the metal-plastic profile. If you are not confident in your abilities, it is better to entrust the work to professionals.

Structurally, the system consists of two blocks. One is mounted on the street side. It serves as both an air intake and a canopy that protects the channel from precipitation. The second block is placed with inside. It contains a mechanism that regulates the intensity of ventilation.

The main advantage of this design is high throughput. The length of the ventilation duct varies between 170-400 mm, and the width is 12-16 mm. This is enough to organize the microclimate in large rooms.

Invoices

They are integrated into the window profile at the frame manufacturing stage. It will not be possible to install them after the fact. In everyday life, such systems are not used due to the excessively large throughput. They are usually used for ventilation of large offices and trading floors.

The products are indispensable in pavilions with continuous glazing, when it is not possible to make ventilation ducts in load-bearing structures. Unlike wall models, their disadvantage is low sound and thermal insulation.

Folded

They became popular due to their low cost and ease of installation. You can install them yourself in literally half an hour.

Place the product on the top of the sash in the gap. Fresh air enters the room through small gap in the seal. The design is very simple, but provides the ability to adjust the air flow.

It is useless to install such devices in a hall or large living room. They will not provide proper air exchange. They are best used in the kitchen or small bedroom.

Methods for adjusting valves on PVC windows

Manual

The body of such devices has a handle or a slider. Its movement changes the position of the damper, and therefore the intensity of the air flow. Such designs are reliable and durable. There is practically nothing to break in them. However, there are a number of disadvantages:

  • Limited access. The controls are located at the top of the sash. Every time you need to change the position of the damper you have to take a chair. In some models, this problem is solved by installing a cord, like in blinds.
  • Static. It is very difficult to maintain a constant microclimate with their help. To achieve comfortable conditions, you have to change the position of the shutter depending on the weather. It is not always possible to choose the right mode.

Automatic

Such products have a number of advantages:

  • Maintain a constant microclimate. The device independently creates preset comfortable temperature and humidity. The intensity of the air flow is adjusted based on sensor readings.
  • Autonomous. The product operates without electronic components. It does not require mains power or batteries. The flap is moved by nylon tapes. Depending on the pressure, they change their length and, accordingly, the position of the damper.
  • Economical. The flow of fresh air increases with increasing humidity, for example, if there are many people in the house or laundry is drying. In a calm environment, the device does not overcool the house, which reduces heating costs.

Pros and cons of supply ventilation valves

Advantages:

  • Appliances simple and reliable. You can install them yourself.
  • The ventilation pad removes excess moisture from the most favorable place for its formation - the boundary of the temperature difference. If there was evaporation or condensation on the double-glazed windows, the number of drops decreases or they disappear altogether.
  • There are no drafts in the room, as with micro-ventilation or full opening of the window. This means the risk of colds is reduced.
  • Air exchange between the apartment and the street occurs continuously. You breathe fresh air all day long, and not just during ventilation.

Flaws:

  • In severe frosts, budget models may freeze.
  • The vast majority of products do not have filter elements. Because of this, dust and foreign odors enter the house.
  • Only expensive models can handle full microclimate control. In budget ones, you have to independently monitor the temperature and humidity in the house - constantly change the position of the damper depending on weather conditions.

How to choose a supply valve for plastic windows

Let's list the most important criteria, which you need to pay attention to when choosing:

  • Noisy. When air masses pass at high speed through an opening of a limited cross-section, noise appears. A comfortable sound level is within 30-40 decibels. Models in which a long narrow gap is formed at the minimum rebate can whistle in strong winds. If the valve does not fit tightly in the operating position, it may rattle.
  • Performance. Directly depends on conditional passage holes for ventilation. How larger area channels, the more fresh air enters the house through them. When choosing a specific device, you need to start from the area of the room and the number of residents. The productivity of different devices varies from 6 to 150 m3/hour. It is better to choose a device not exactly according to its parameters, but with a margin of 1.5-2 times.
  • Air preheating. In classic models, cold air masses are warmed up by a warm convection flow from the radiator. In northern regions this may not be enough. Then you need to select equipment with electrical heating.
  • Filter type. They are absent in structures that are mounted on the sash. Models integrated into the frame can be equipped with filter elements. When using them, dust from the street does not enter the room. But the filter must be constantly cleaned, otherwise the performance of the device drops significantly.
  • Installation method. There are universal models that can be integrated into the window profile of any manufacturer. Some of them you can install yourself. But some structures must be installed at the frame manufacturing stage.
  • Price. Each of the options listed above affects the cost. If you are too picky about the microclimate, it’s worth comparing window devices with other options for climate control products.

Optionally, the product can be supplied with an external air intake. A filter element is installed in it, which traps atmospheric dust. We will provide a step-by-step installation guide in the video.

Installation instructions for Aereco equipment

The devices are designed for automatic microclimate regulation. They are integrated into the frame, allowing for greater air exchange. During installation, the integrity of the profiles is compromised, so you need to be careful. If you doubt your abilities, it is better to use the services of competent specialists. We carry out the work in the following sequence:

  1. Mark the middle of the window sash.
  2. Screw on a metal template or plastic mounting strip.
  3. Using a drill with a diameter of 4-5 mm, we make centering holes along the edges.
  4. Using the template, mark the outline of the future slots and remove it.
  5. We drill the holes with a drill with a diameter of 10 mm.
  6. Using a jigsaw, renovator or router, we cut grooves between the holes.
  7. With the window closed, transfer the dimensions of the holes to the frame.
  8. We install the template on the frame profile and repeat all the operations for milling the grooves. For ease of operation, temporarily remove the rubber seal.
  9. Screw the mounting plate from the inside.
  10. We install an element with a valve that regulates air exchange.
  11. WITH outside screw on the protective visor.

You can clearly see the installation process in the video.

If you need to ventilate a small room or get rid of fogged glass, simple designs like Air-Box are suitable. For autonomous microclimate control the best solution products are becoming Aereco type. And the tips and recommendations given will help you install the ventilation valve yourself.

Good day to all!

One of my particularly talkative neighbors has recently begun to often complain about feeling unwell.

Although she is already a grandmother, she still works in production. The room is always stuffy, but as soon as you open the window there is a draft.

I ask if there is any in the windows supply valve. He says he doesn’t know about this.

This is understandable, life is not the same without the valve. Sit down closer, now I’ll tell you what it is and what it’s for.

Since it is impossible to live in a completely sealed, sealed space, and simply ventilating the room through windows cannot be a panacea (since heat and sound insulation is impaired), there is a whole range of ventilation devices produced by large manufacturers of PVC profile systems and companies specializing only in ventilation devices.

These devices are designed to allow outside air to enter rooms, ventilate them and remove polluted air.

Currently, a whole industry for the production of ventilation devices has been created in the West.

Window ventilation devices from Aereco (France), Renson and Titon (Belgium), and Siegenia (Germany) have already appeared on the Russian construction market.

As for the classification of ventilation devices, they certainly include a variety of opening limiters, devices for micro-ventilation produced by fittings manufacturers, and opening dampers, valves and special ventilation ducts installed on PVC profiles, and ventilation devices in the lower or upper part frames

Let's try to look at the operating principles of some ventilation devices.

For example, ventilation dampers and strips are a very large group developed by PVC profile manufacturers.

They are manually adjustable, they can be compared with opening limiters included in the fittings kit (micro-ventilation, etc.), only these devices (unlike fitting mechanisms) are separate parts of window structures and their installation must be provided for in advance, at the stage of measuring openings .

Depending on your desire, you open required amount through holes, made in the bar and the air inside the bar passes through many ventilation holes offset from each other.

A significant disadvantage of ventilation devices of this type is their focus on use in apartments that are not exposed to intense noise pollution from traffic routes, railways and other noise sources - reduced sound insulation.

For trouble-free opening and closing of the air exchanger, a lever drive is used, which can be attached to all types window frames.

The disadvantage is that the light opening is reduced by 80mm due to the installation of the Aeromat ventilator between the sash profile and the double-glazed window.

Nevertheless, the manufacturer expects this model to be highly popular. designed to significantly simplify life for both home residents and office workers.

The next example, the REHAU-Climamat ventilation valve, is installed directly on the window element.

At the same time, the valve allows you to regulate the air flow, avoid high humidity and ensure an optimal indoor climate.

Rehau's design goals were to implement an optically minimally noticeable device and to avoid milling holes in profiles, which makes returning to the original state impossible.

Advantages of the device:

  • silent air flow regulation;
  • replaceable filter;
  • stepwise regulation of air flow using a control valve;
  • minimal likelihood of drafts due to vertical air distribution;
  • applicable for any load;
  • independent of the window unit.

This valve operates fully automatically and completely silently: a plastic membrane allows air to pass through or blocks its path. Under normal wind conditions, the membrane is open.

In strong winds, the ventilation duct is closed with air flow to avoid large heat losses due to active air exchange. When the external air pressure decreases, the membrane begins to allow air to pass through again.

The device was developed specifically for use in panel buildings. Rehau AG has long identified the problem of ventilation and already in 1986 introduced the first ventilation duct for installation on translucent structures made of PVC profiles.

Recently, one of the most widespread companies producing ventilation devices has been Aereco, which offers a fairly wide range of these products.

The motto of this French company is “Sensible ventilation”.

Aereco supply and exhaust devices are automatically controlled by special sensor-drives made of polyamide fabric.

This fabric tends to lengthen or contract depending on changes in relative humidity.

The higher the humidity, the more the damper opens to let air through.

Aereco window valves effectively solve the problem of stuffiness, accumulation of radon, release of excess water vapor, and, consequently, condensation on glass and the formation of mold in rooms with sealed windows.

The Aereco damper cuts into the upper part of the window (into the sash), therefore, it reacts to changes in humidity right next to the window itself.

Helpful advice!

Aereco offers a whole series hygro-controlled air supply devices, differing in air flow and noise absorption level.

Aereco air supply devices direct a stream of cold air to the ceiling, eliminating drafts in the service area and, when fully open, provide sound insulation from traffic noise of 33-42 dB.

They constantly, automatically, 24 hours a day, in any weather, provide good air quality and regulate air flow, depending on the need for ventilation.

Aereco air supply devices can be installed on all types of window frames - plastic, wood, aluminum.

In addition, they operate without the use of electricity and are very easy to maintain: it is recommended to clean the valve once a year, without dismantling the device.

Many potential customers have a question: will the valves freeze in winter? Without heating the outside air, some parts of the valve body inside the room will inevitably be at the temperature of the outside air.

It would seem that the appearance of ice on them is inevitable. But this is where Aereco's signature design tricks come into play.

The valve is designed in such a way that the external dry cold air blows over the cold parts of the valve, preventing the internal warm moist air from contacting them. It is clear that in this case “freezing” is excluded.

For rooms with intense moisture release (kitchens, bathrooms, etc.), Aereco produces exhaust grilles that control the quality of the exhaust air depending on the humidity level.

Exhaust grilles can be activated manually or automatically using motion sensors. Removing moisture directly from the source of moisture release has a beneficial effect on the humidity conditions of the apartment as a whole.

In addition, the range of products includes fire dampers For exhaust devices, filters, fans.

But let's get back to window valves. In Moscow, many companies producing translucent structures supply their products with Aereco ventilation valves.

Since the installation of valves is possible not only in the workshop during the manufacture of windows, but also on already installed windows without dismantling them and replacing double-glazed windows, a number of large companies provide additional services for installing Aereco valves on windows already in operation.

It should be noted that the installation of these devices on the frame (frame-sash apron, frame, sash or mullion profiles) does not reduce the light opening of the window, i.e. the room does not become darker, and this often becomes the determining criterion when choosing a ventilation device.

The problem of excessive sealing of modern plastic PVC windows with double-glazed windows and its negative consequences - stuffiness, high humidity, condensation on the glass in the cold season, the appearance of mold and fungi on slopes and walls - has long been known.

Usually the consumer begins to blame the manufacturer of PVC plastic windows for all these troubles, since there were no such problems with the old windows!

However, in the overwhelming majority, such problems are a consequence of impaired air exchange in the room and stagnation of moisture released by the residents themselves during their daily activities.

Designers of residential buildings usually provide only exhaust ducts to remove dirty air from rooms (the same grilles that are in the kitchen, toilet and bathroom).

The influx of fresh air in GOSTs and SNIPs has always been implied through the cracks in old wooden windows. For a long time, the so-called “carpentry” was used all over the world - wooden windows with unsealed sashes, from which there was a constant breeze and thereby ensured a constant flow of fresh outside air into the room.

For the same reason, owners of old windows were not aware of the problem of condensation and mold.

When modern plastic PVC windows are closed, this influx disappears, so all the water vapor released by residents when breathing, washing, cooking, etc. stays indoors.

In addition to water vapor, stagnation occurs in rooms

  1. carbon dioxide released during respiration
  2. smells of finishing materials
  3. food aromas

Recently, sanitary and epidemiological inspection staff have been paying increasing attention to the accumulation of radon in residential premises without ventilation in PVC plastic windows.

This is a very dangerous inert radioactive gas, colorless and odorless, released from the ground and building materials.

Radon is in second place after smoking among the causes of lung cancer, and provides up to 80% of the total dose of human radiation in everyday life from natural (non-technogenic) sources.

The only way to combat radon entering a living space is ventilation!

Installing fittings for modern sealed plastic PVC windows allows you to open the sashes, tilt them or make a “slot” opening for ventilation, but due to a number of technical and psychological reasons Residents do not always use this for the following reasons:

And my own everyday experience of many years of sealing cracks in old windows for the winter tells people that in winter better windows Don `t open.

It turns out to be some kind of paradox: in order for the apartment to be warm and quiet, you need to keep the plastic PVC windows closed, and in order to avoid stuffiness and condensation on the glass, you need to constantly open the plastic PVC windows!

2. A person needs at least 25 m³ of fresh air per hour to ensure normal life activity and maintain sufficient working capacity. Lack of oxygen affects the health and increases fatigue of people present in the room.

Helpful advice!

In a two-room apartment of 50 m2 when working gas stove 140 m3 of fresh air is required every hour. This means that every hour it is necessary to completely replace the internal air (impact or through ventilation).

No one will ever open a PVC window 24 times a day for 5 minutes (especially at night!), so ventilation in the form in which it exists does not provide ventilation standards!

3. When opening a PVC window, even in the “slit” ventilation mode, outside air enters from the window sill level, causing drafts in the area where people are located!

4. Window soundproofing pvc block is one of the main criteria when choosing modern window pvc, but the airborne noise insulation index is:

  • PVC window CLOSED – 34db
  • PVC window sash installation in SLOT VENTILATION MODE - 18 dB
  • PVC window sash installation in VENTILATION MODE (TIRED) - 9 dB

And here we see a paradox:

Ventilating a room by simply opening a PVC window, even in the “slit ventilation” mode, also has other negative consequences:

  • sudden temperature change;
  • contamination of the room with dust and penetration of allergenic pollen into it;
  • reduced security in terms of unauthorized access to the premises from outside ( open window, especially on the lower floors, attracts attention).

All of the above leads to the fact that residents, despite all the advantages of modern PVC windows, experience discomfort due to impaired air exchange in the living room, but are reluctant to use the capabilities of PVC window fittings for ventilation.

SOLUTION TO THE VENTILATION PROBLEM: INSTALLING THE AERECO SUPPLY VALVE ON THE WINDOWS!

A compromise was found with the invention of special ventilation supply valves AEREKO, which are installed directly into a plastic window.

Installing the AERECO supply ventilation valve allows you to let outside air into the room without opening the plastic window sashes.

Naturally, for air to pass through there must be either a hole in the window frame or a gap between the end of the double-glazed window and the window profile, however, when installing AERECO supply ventilation valves, cold air enters the ceiling without causing drafts in the area where people are.

Advantages of installing a fresh air ventilation valve on windows

  1. The throughput capacity of the fresh air ventilation valve is up to 35 m3 of air per hour, which fully complies with air flow standards.
  2. The sound insulation of AERECO supply ventilation valves, depending on the configuration, is up to 42 dB, which corresponds to the sound insulation of modern sealed windows when closed.
  3. The stream of cold air from the ventilation valve of the supply ventilation on AEREKO windows is directed towards the ceiling and does not cause drafts in the area where people are located; access to fresh air through the ventilation valve of the supply ventilation AERECO is carried out without a noticeable increase in the noise level in the room.
  4. Unlike periodic ventilation, the influx of fresh air through the fresh air ventilation valve for AEREKO plastic windows occurs CONSTANTLY, which does not allow radon to accumulate in the room. The supply ventilation valve for AERECO windows does not close hermetically and this is not a defect, but was made SPECIALLY to reduce the risk of freezing of the valve and freezing of the AERECO damper.
  5. AERECO supply ventilation valves do not reduce the light opening, since the supply ventilation valve for plastic windows has small sizes and is mounted in the upper part of the window on a through rectangular slot.
  6. Installation of a ventilation valve for AERECO plastic windows is possible not only when manufacturing a window in production workshop, but also after installing the window on site without dismantling and replacing the double-glazed window.
  7. The use of a ventilation supply valve for plastic windows AEREKO allows you to solve almost all problems of a sanitary and hygienic nature in residential premises with sealed windows.

The AEREKO ventilation supply valve can be considered, on the one hand, as a window accessory along with a mosquito net, window sill, blinds, etc., and on the other hand, as ventilation equipment.

INSTALLING A SUPPLY VALVE ON AERECO WINDOWS SOLVES ALMOST ALL SANITARY PROBLEMS IN RESIDENTIAL PREMISES WITH SEALED WINDOWS AND PRESERVES ALL THE ADVANTAGES OF MODERN WINDOWS!

As you know, cheap is never good...Installing supply valves on plastic windows is associated with quite high costs.

For example, the cost of an AERECO ventilation valve of the EMM or EHA series is fully equipped, which includes the valve itself, an acoustic visor and a mosquito net can reach up to 150 EURO. The VENT Air II valve will cost slightly less - 2000 rubles.

For all their uniqueness, these supply valves have one significant drawback, their quality installation only possible in factory conditions.

In the upper part of the plastic window, 2 through channels are cut in the profile of the frame and sash on a special milling machine.

Produce this type work on previously purchased and already installed windows is not possible.

Yes, there are “craftsmen” offering this service. It goes something like this. The master alternately attaches a massive metal template to the sash and to the frame, subject to its availability, in most cases - this happens “by eye”.

At this point, as a rule, the installation ends; the resulting torn edges of the frame are covered with parts of the supply valve. The cost of this type of work is regulated only by the greed of these “masters”.

The owner of the window receives a damaged window, a mountain of metal and plastic filings within a radius of 2 meters from the window where the work was done. The buyer is clearly being deceived.

Window Center advises all owners of plastic windows who did not order supply ventilation at the time of installation of the product to pay attention to the Russian supply ventilation valve Air-Box Comfort.

Its cost does not exceed 400 rubles, installation does not require milling of plastic profiles, and absolutely anyone who can hold a screwdriver can handle the installation. The valve is sold with detailed installation instructions and all necessary fasteners.

The Window Center offers to familiarize yourself with the installation process of the Air-Box Comfort valve using the example of an ordinary Moscow apartment. For convenience, we have indicated the time spent by our customer on installation work.

Comfort is the AERECO inlet valve!

- Do your windows breathe at night?

A person doesn’t just want to live in a warm house, he wants to live in comfortable conditions. In relation to the air environment of an apartment, this concept includes temperature, humidity and air speed.

It is the right combination of these parameters that allows a person to feel comfortable. Great importance also has the composition of air.

When people breathe indoors, the oxygen content decreases and the concentration of carbon dioxide and other harmful impurities increases. The content of water vapor in the air also increases, i.e. air humidity increases.

Only with the help of ventilation: organizing constant controlled air exchange - letting fresh air from the street into the apartment, which mixes with dirty air and, going into the exhaust ventilation ducts, removes excess water, carbon dioxide, unwanted impurities and odors from the apartment.

This is called: VENTILATION.

If the apartment is empty, for example, everyone left for work and school in the morning, the release of moisture will be minimal. Moisture will enter the room only through evaporation from flowers, an aquarium (if there is one) and pets.

Since there are always some gaps in the windows, front door and walls, throughout the day the outside air will “dilute” the air in the apartment, reducing its relative humidity.

Obviously, by the time the residents return, the humidity will drop to some constant level, let’s call it “basic” humidity or “humidity in an empty apartment.”

The amount of “basic” humidity will depend on the air temperature outside (the stronger the frost, the drier the air in the apartment), its relative humidity, as well as moisture release in the rooms.

In well-heated apartments in severe frosts, the level of relative humidity can drop to 10-15%, which is harmful to health and such air, on the contrary, is recommended to be specially humidified to prevent problems with the respiratory system.

But with the arrival of residents, the picture changes significantly.

Wet boots, breathing and sweating, using the bathroom, cooking, washing and drying clothes all cause relative humidity to increase (the evening humidity surge).

When all the chores are done, people rest and then sleep, the humidity level gradually decreases (intensive ventilation before bed, of course, speeds up this process).

Leaving the window slightly open in the bedroom also, naturally, helps to more intensively remove moisture from the apartment. In the morning there is a second surge in the humidity level (shower, boiling kettle, etc.).

Even at night, when, for example, one pair is sleeping, they secrete about 2 liters of water. This is why you can so often hear that people wake up with a headache.

Another conclusion arises: if at night, for example, people sleep in their bedrooms, then the flow of fresh air should be organized mainly into the bedrooms.

An increase in inflow into the living room will be required; on the contrary, in the evening, when the family gathers around the TV, ventilation of empty bedrooms is not required at this time.

Indeed, the cold air coming from the street must be heated, and this requires the expenditure of thermal energy.

Experts estimate the share of heat costs for heating ventilation air at 50-70% of total costs for heating housing (for houses with modern energy-saving windows and warm walls).

While residents pay certain fixed amounts for heat, they have no incentive to save thermal energy by maintaining a careful compromise between the need for fresh air and heat conservation (as in the West).

Currently, problems of heat conservation affect only the owners of individual residential and public buildings, who pay the real cost of heat or fuel for boiler houses.

But even residents of high-rise buildings receive real savings from reasonable energy conservation. Each apartment receives a certain amount of heat from the heating plant, brought hot water heating systems.

As the temperature outside decreases, the amount of this heat automatically increases. But they still need to be managed properly.

If the apartment has old, poorly closed, leaky windows, from the cracks of which cold air comes through, the heating system simply will not be able to raise the air temperature to a comfortable one.

For the winter, you need to take care of their tightness yourself, plug up the cracks, seal them with paper, etc. And in special cases you will need to turn on the heater and pay for it according to the meter.

If you replace old ones in an apartment wooden windows on modern ones, you are guaranteed to feel that the apartment has become much warmer and quieter. But as often happens, solving one problem can lead to another.

Without standard air exchange, the level of relative humidity, the concentration of carbon dioxide, harmful impurities, radon gas, etc. increase.

The result is known:

  • moisture condensation on double-glazed windows during the cold season (especially in rooms under renovation)
  • mold on slopes
  • stuffiness

The fact is that the cracks in the old windows provided an influx of fresh, dry air and, in a certain sense of the word, constantly ventilated the apartment.

When large companies gathered, wet cleaning and large washes took place, well-known ventilation windows came to the rescue for drying clothes.

Note!

With the replacement of windows, the situation changed - the air flow decreased sharply.

Grilles in the kitchen, bathroom and toilet are only part of the ventilation system; they are the outlets for exhaust air.

Without fresh air entering through the window, the hood does not work - there is nothing for it to pull out of the apartment. Only what goes in comes out!

Of course, you can open the window sash in one way or another, using the capabilities of modern fittings: tilting swivel mechanism openings, slot ventilation, opening limiters.

Just keep three things in mind:

  • in any case, cold (especially in winter) outside air will enter the room from the window sill level, i.e. You will get drafts in the area where people are present.
  • you will largely lose the soundproofing properties of a modern window (from 34 dB(A) to 18 dB(A) in the “slot ventilation” mode and up to 9 dB(A) in the normal ventilation mode). But they often go out onto noisy, busy streets.
  • a slightly open door on the lower floors makes some people think of visiting your apartment without an invitation. It’s better to forget about the old method of “airing before bed” altogether.

You will suddenly overcool the bedroom due to a burst of hyperventilation, and then an hour later - another with closed windows You will breathe dirty air again. In this case, it is not surprising to have a headache in the morning.

In addition, you never know exactly for how long and how to open the window. Insufficient opening does not completely eliminate stuffiness, but excessive opening reduces the temperature in the room.

Helpful advice!

They don't solve the problem and various ways“microventilation” offered by PVC profile manufacturers.

With this method, a small amount of external air through holes and cracks organized in the very window profile, gets inside the room and, diluting wet air in the area of the window niche, reduces the likelihood of glass fogging.

But the amount of air of 1-2 cubic meters per hour with a pressure difference of 10 Pa does not in any way correspond to the standards for air flow (30-60 cubic meters per hour - according to the “Air exchange rate or the amount of air removed from the room” SNiP 2.08.01- 89 you need 3 cubic meters per hour per 1 square meter of residential premises).

No, a constant and controlled ventilation process must be organized in residential premises.

Fresh air must, in one way or another, enter through the windows into the living rooms, dilute the dirty air, go through the interior doors into the corridor, reach the exhaust vents in the kitchen and go back outside, carrying away excess moisture, carbon dioxide, etc.

And perhaps the most important thing: a person cannot know when, where, or how long to ventilate.

He most often found out what was needed after damage had already appeared, for example from moisture.

Some companies that produce plastic profiles for making windows have come up with special profiles with adjustable holes for ventilation.

True, these adjustments are made manually at random, and such special profiles can be used at the time of manufacturing a new window.

But what if there are already windows in the apartment? In addition, in addition to plastic, many windows are made of wood and aluminum; this method is not suitable for them.

Now not only window specialists and specialists are talking about this, but also those people who have paid quite a lot of money for new windows.

A number of companies produce special supply valves for windows. Some of them are installed in a small through hole in the window frame, others replace part of the double-glazed window, unfortunately reducing the light opening of the window.

Again, you can manually either close them completely, or step by step, or open them smoothly. It is always very difficult to choose the optimal damper position.

For automatic control, you need to select some physical parameter that indicates that the air in the room is polluted and it’s time to change it.

Indeed, all human activities (breathing, cooking, washing, etc.) lead to an increase in relative humidity.

In addition, increased humidity leads to dampness in the apartment, mold on wallpaper and furniture, and fogging of windows and window slopes.

Therefore, such hygro-controlled automatic ventilation systems should open smoothly as humidity increases, and when everyone has gone to work, reduce the flow of outside air so as not to cool the apartment in vain.

Since 1983, the French company AERECO has been producing a unique ventilation system that offers automatic air supply units for installation on plastic windows.

Air supply devices "AEREKO" models EMM and ENA can operate autonomously without exhaust grilles (at the same time, the efficiency of the system in terms of energy saving is somewhat reduced).

They are small-sized and do not occupy the light opening, because... are mounted on a through hole on the window frame from the outside and the sash from the inside, and, most importantly, even when fully opened, they do not impair the noise-proof properties of the window; even when fully opened, the transport noise attenuation index ranges from 33 to 42 dB(A) depending on the design ( the PVC window itself has 30-35 dB(A) when closed).

Helpful advice!

They can be installed on windows made of any materials.

They can be installed on a window made of any materials, both during their manufacture in the workshop and in a lived-in apartment without dismantling and replacing the double-glazed window.

Installing them at the top of the window allows you to direct a stream of outside air to the ceiling without causing drafts in the area where people are.

In European countries, these devices have long been known and widely used. Now these products can be installed by Eurostyle specialists in your apartment to improve your comfort and quality of life!

Plastic windows help keep the room warm and keep cold and sound out. But at the same time, they significantly reduce the flow of fresh air. This omission of the designers can be corrected by installing a supply valve on the windows. The main task of the device is to restore natural ventilation in a commercial or residential area.

The need to use a supply valve on plastic windows

The benefits of using plastic windows have been appreciated by many residents of apartments and private houses. Comfortable, beautiful and practical windows can reduce heat loss and increase noise insulation of the room. However, along with the advantages, consumers also noted one significant disadvantage - lack of ventilation. This factor worsens the microclimate of the room - humidity rises, the air becomes stale, and people in the house begin to experience a lack of oxygen. As a result, mold appears on the walls and slopes of the room, and the concentration of toxic substances increases.

For normal existence it is necessary to restore sufficient air circulation. Ventilating an apartment by opening window vents nullifies all the advantages of sealed “plastic” and significantly reduces heating efficiency. Inlet valves can solve the problem.

A supply valve is a device installed on the top sash of a window in a horizontal position, which performs an exhaust function. Valve supports optimal microclimate in the room, eliminates condensation on the glass unit and frame.

The advisability of using a supply valve on plastic windows is due to a number of advantages:

  • the light opening of the window remains unchanged;
  • there are no drafts in the apartment, as with normal ventilation;
  • the flow of fresh air is at a sufficient level;
  • there is no heat loss during valve operation, and the sound insulation of the room remains at the same level;
  • ability to regulate valve operation;
  • ease of installation and operation.

Design and principle of operation of the supply valve

Proper arrangement of window ventilation is possible only if you have a complete understanding of the mechanism of operation of the supply valve.

When installing the valve, part of the rubber seal on the window frame and sash is removed. A thinner special seal is installed in this place. Together with the new seal, a supply valve is also installed on the window sash - the main element of passive ventilation.

Air from the street is sucked into the room, and warm air is pushed out through the exhaust ducts. Air circulation occurs due to pressure differences. Natural air exchange works if the outside air temperature is not higher than +5°C. In hot weather, ventilation operates using forced exhaust.

The window ventilation valve consists of the following components:

  1. The outer part is the “air intake”, installed with outside frames Required condition- the presence of a visor above the air intake, which prevents rain, snow, etc. from entering the valve.
  2. Telescopic channel - passes through the frame. The element is milled into the plastic window frame and fixed with a sleeve.
  3. An internal part installed from inside the room. The most complex unit, which is equipped with an exhaust nozzle, a simple filter and a mechanism for adjusting the throughput.

Basic conditions for the operation of the supply valve:

  • proper exhaust ventilation in the apartment;
  • air temperature outside the window from +5°С;
  • free air exchange between rooms in the apartment - cracks under interior doors not less than 2 cm;
  • sealed entrance door.

Advice. Job exhaust ventilation You can check the apartments yourself. Close the door to the room tightly and open the window in the room as far away as possible from ventilation duct. Attach a sheet of paper to the grill. If it does not fall and is held by the air flow, then everything is fine with the hood

Types of supply valves for windows

There are many different models and variations of window supply valves. They differ from each other according to different criteria.

According to the material of manufacture:

  • plastic;
  • wooden;
  • metal.

By control method:

  • automatic;
  • manual.

When operated manually, the valve is equipped with a special rope. The automatic valve is more convenient to use. The device independently determines the need to open/close vent. The adjustment indicators are set in accordance with the humidity level and pressure differences in the room.

Important! Operating the inlet valve manually is a bit risky. The desired level is selected through trial and error. In addition, there is a risk of freezing if incorrectly adjusted in winter.

According to the method of air entering the house:

  1. Rebated inlet valves. One of the most economical options for PVC windows. Cold air is supplied to the room through small cutouts in the vestibule. To install such a valve, the windows do not need to be dismantled. Seam valves have low throughput, sound insulation is at a sufficient level.
  2. Slotted inlet valves. Air enters through a gap whose height is about 16 mm. On the outside of the window, the valve is covered with an inlet block (protection from precipitation and small insects). The inside of the device is closed by a control block. Installation of the slot valve is carried out in a horizontal impost or upper bar of the sash. The advantages of such a valve: high throughput and the ability to install without dismantling the window.
  3. Overhead valves allow air to pass best. However, the size of the window opening and frame must be “adjusted” to the valve. Installation of an overhead valve cannot be performed on an installed double-glazed window. Such valves are usually used in production and warehouse areas.

An interesting option is a valve-handle, which is installed instead of an ordinary window handle. Such a device has a number of advantages:

  • the appearance of the window does not change;
  • the ventilation valve can be located in the place where condensation most often appears;
  • effective removal of excess moisture;
  • the valve does not freeze in winter (the device has a direct-flow design);
  • The handle valve has a built-in filter that prevents dust from entering the room.

Selecting a supply valve: review of manufacturers

Choosing a supply valve from a wide range of models is quite a difficult task. Let's consider General characteristics products from the most popular manufacturers of fresh air ventilation. After all, conscientious companies in the vast majority of cases produce a high-quality product.

The French company Homearea produces supply valves Aereco. The principle of operation of supply units is based on changing the flow area depending on the level of humidity in the room. Air circulation is carried out under the condition of mechanical or natural exhaust operation.

The most common manufacturer models:

  1. Aereco valves of the EMM series are moisture-sensitive, hygro-adjustable. The valve has two mounting methods, which characterize the air supply options - with an inclined or vertical jet direction. It can operate in two modes: “minimal ventilation” and “automatic”. Air consumption up to 35 cubic meters/hour at 10 Pa.
  2. Aereco valves of the EHA series are equipped with a hygroscopic sensor-drive, which ensures a healthy microclimate in the room. The set includes acoustic accessories that perform noise-absorbing functions. Air consumption - up to 50 cubic meters/hour at 10 Pa.
  3. Aereco valves of the EHA2 series are available in a stylish slim body. The device guarantees sound insulation of the house up to 42 dB. The inclined air flow is directed to the ceiling area. This ensures progressive heating of the street air. The device has three operating modes: minimum, automatic and maximum air flow.

Inlet valve for window Air Box Available in three trim levels: Standart, Comfort without milling and Comfort-S.

The Comfort model is installed in two ways - with/without milling. Milling - drilling or sawing at the top of the ventilation duct sash.

Important! Milling doubles the performance of the supply valve. But usually a standard installation - without milling - allows you to solve the ventilation problem

The Comfort-S damper is designed for installation on fixed windows. Installation of such a valve is quite labor-intensive, as it requires drilling a reinforced steel profile. Typically, the Comfort-S valve is installed at the factory.

Passive ventilation supply valve - installation Regel-air. Ventilation of the room occurs automatically. Depending on the temperature in the room and outside, the device independently regulates the degree of ventilation.

Supply valve for plastic windows: photo

The Regel-air climate valve has the following advantages:

  • affordable price;
  • hidden installation - when the flap is closed, the valve is not visible;
  • the incoming air circulates inside the frame - the air temperature rises;
  • high maintainability;
  • The sound insulation of the room does not deteriorate.

How to install a supply valve on a window: step-by-step installation

The ventilation valve can be installed on the window in two ways: with or without perforation. Let's consider both options.

Installation sequence of a climate valve with perforation:

  1. Preparation of tools:
    • electric drill;
    • jigsaw;
    • file;
    • drills 5-10 mm;
    • construction knife;
    • template for marking valve contours;
    • sealant.
  2. Using a template, outline the location of the supply valve. The marker must be attached to the top sash. For this work, it is better to remove the window sash, since the markings are done on the outside and inside of the part.
  3. According to the markings, drill several through holes with a 5 mm drill. This row will serve as the base for larger perforations.
  4. Drill the prepared holes with a 10 mm drill. For convenient location of the valve, holes are drilled from the inside of the window sash.
  5. Expansion of the supply valve. Between the pair of outer holes, use a jigsaw to cut out the remaining material. As a result of the work done, a through gap should be obtained. Sand the edges of the hole with a file.
  6. Install the valve mounting strip on the flap surface and secure with self-tapping screws. The part must first be treated with sealant.
  7. Mill a groove in the frame overlay. Mark the position of the supply valve according to the template, and then cut out the groove using a jigsaw and file.
  8. Install the outer part of the climate valve with a visor on the outer surface of the frame. The part is fixed with self-tapping screws and sealed with sealant.
  9. Assemble the sash and install it in place - on the hinges of the frame.
  10. Check the position of the holes in the sash and frame overlap.
  11. Secure the inside of the valve to the mounting plate. Use clips and latches as fastening elements.
  12. Adjust valve operation.

Let's look at how to install a supply valve on a plastic window without resorting to perforation:

  1. For installation work prepare:
    • a regular cross-head screwdriver;
    • stationery knife;
    • marker and ruler.
  2. Open the window sash and remove part of the seal that seals the gap between the frame and the sash. The old gasket is cut off with a knife from the frame overlap. On the free space, stick a special gasket, which comes complete with the supply valve.
  3. Direct valve installation:
    • install three plugs with the “skirt” down in the grooves from the seal;
    • fix the valve on the flap of the sash - the device is attached from above in the direction of the brackets to the window;
    • secure the valve with self-tapping screws passed through the brackets;
    • Install a seal in the groove between the brackets.

In this case, the gap between the valve and the seal on the frame acts as a ventilation duct.

Adjustment and operation of the supply window valve

The supply valve can be controlled manually or automatically. Automatic is more convenient and is usually supplemented with a hygroregulation sensor. When humidity decreases, air flow decreases, and vice versa - air circulation increases when humidity in the room increases.

With manual control, you can make mistakes, which sometimes lead to overcooling of the room and freezing of the climate valve.

Important! In severe frosts, the supply valve cannot be completely closed

Care ventilation valve boil down to cleaning every 6 months. Dust from the external visor can be removed with a vacuum cleaner, and the body can be wiped with a damp cloth.

Cannot be used for cleaning chemicals. In addition, you should refrain from cleaning the device under running water. running water. When carrying out repair work in a room, the valve must be closed - this will protect it from dirt and dust.

A supply valve for PVC windows is a practical and necessary purchase that improves the microclimate in the house. You can install the supply valve on plastic windows yourself. The installation method depends on the valve model and its configuration.
