Installation of a wall-mounted gas boiler. Correct installation of a double-circuit gas boiler with your own hands Installation of gas wall-mounted boilers

You have purchased a new gas boiler for your private home and it’s time to take its place in the furnace room. To do this, you can hire a specialized company or contact the appropriate service. But the cost of installation in this case will significantly hit your wallet, while there is an opportunity to reduce the cost of the process. Yes, some operations can only be performed by licensed organizations, but this is only half the work; the rest can be handled independently. Here we will tell you how the installation is carried out. gas boiler in a private home from start to finish.

Where to begin?

Since the installation of new gas-using equipment requires compliance certain rules, then it is worth ordering all work that requires a license from the gas service:

You can complete the rest of the steps yourself. First you need to get gas from the service technical specifications for installation of gas equipment. Check them out or make a copy and immediately order project documentation from them. When it is ready, it will need to be approved by the gas service. As you might guess, this procedure is a pure formality; after its completion, a team will come to your home and install the gas boiler in terms of its connection to the fuel line, about which a corresponding report will be drawn up.

All that remains for you to do is to complete the piping and connection to the heating system and laying electrical networks. Here you will have the opportunity to save money, either by doing everything yourself or with the help of familiar plumbers. Final stage– final paperwork.

It's just short description one of the possible algorithms for solving the problem, but in reality not everything is so simple, because gas boilers must be installed in compliance regulatory requirements, it wouldn’t hurt to familiarize yourself with them at the stage of choosing a heat generator.

Requirements for boiler installation

First of all, it is necessary to take into account all the requirements for the room where the heat source is supposed to be placed. The options are:

  • kitchen;
  • a room inside the house, adjacent to one of the external walls and having windows;
  • premises in the basement or basement;
  • in the outer annex.

In the kitchen, installation standards allow the installation of a floor-mounted or wall-mounted unit with a heating capacity of up to 60 kW. Equipment with ratings from 60 to 150 kW can be installed in a separate room on any floor, and from 150 to 350 kW - only on the first or ground floor, in the basement or outbuilding. At the same time, it is important to observe the dimensions of a separate room or an attached part; they cannot be smaller than specified in the standards. The minimum standard height of such a room is 2.5 m for any power within the specified limits.

Note. The thermal power values specified in the standards and affecting the installation conditions of the boiler are the total power of all units in the boiler room, including those working for the needs of domestic hot water.

For heat generators with a capacity of up to 150 kW, in accordance with the standards, the smallest volume of the room for installing a gas boiler is 15 m3, in addition, for each kW of water heating equipment, 0.2 m3 is added to this volume. If the total indicator of all units exceeds 150 kW, then the dimensions of the room are not standardized. But the installation rules apply and safe operation boilers, according to which it is necessary to maintain technological gaps between the units and the walls of the room; they are adopted for reasons of ease of maintenance and access to all systems in the boiler room. The dimensions of the passages in accordance with the rules are as follows:

  • From the protruding part of the gas burner device to the wall on the front side of the heat generator - at least 1 m.
  • If the operating instructions for the unit say that it needs to be serviced from the side or rear, then you will have to maintain a passage width of 1.5 m, but when there is no such entry, but you need to provide access to other equipment or fittings, then it is enough to make the clearance 700 mm. In other cases, installation requirements are stated in the product documents from the manufacturer.
  • If you plan to install 2 heat sources in the furnace room, then you should not place them opposite each other, since you will have to provide a clearance of at least 2 m between the protruding parts of the burners.
  • Nothing should be laid through passages at a height lower than 2 m.

For a kitchen where it is allowed to place not very powerful heating equipment (up to 60 kW), there are not the most stringent requirements for the installation of gas boilers. You just need to comply with the volume standard given above, and also ensure air exchange in the amount of 3 times in 1 hour. Additionally required to submit supply air for fuel combustion, its consumption for each unit is indicated in technical specifications. This standard applies to all types of boiler houses.

Note. For heat generators with a closed chamber, the installation standards for gas boilers do not force the supply of an air mixture for combustion, since they take air directly from the street through coaxial chimney, which will be discussed below.

IN regulatory documents It is proposed to organize ventilation for the boiler in the kitchen using an exhaust shaft and a supply grille built into the front door. The flow area of this grid is also standardized; its area cannot be less than 0.025 m2. In the same way, you can arrange air exchange in individual combustion chambers. Feeding difficulties fresh air may occur in basements or basement floors, it is possible that to comply with technical conditions it will be necessary to install a special supply fan.

In boiler rooms located on the first, ground floor or in an extension, window openings with a glazing area of at least 0.03 m2 are needed for each cubic meter of room volume. The attached premises also have requirements for fire resistance of walls, a separate foundation and entrance doors. In addition, the extension cannot be built on the front facade of the building, and during construction it is necessary to retreat 1 m horizontally from the nearest window or door.

It should be noted that the requirements for a gas boiler located in wooden house, are identical to the standards for buildings made of other materials, that is, the rules for installing boiler rooms are the same for all buildings.

Installation work for boiler installation

When suitable premises Once selected and the design documentation has been completed for it, you can begin to manually install the heat generator in place. To do this, you will need a connection diagram for a gas boiler in a private house, which must be present in the project. It shows the installation location, the distance to all enclosing structures and the technical requirements for the work.

Often, the installation of floor-standing gas boilers requires the construction of a foundation. In many cases it is not needed, for example, when the room has a high-quality screed and the weight of the unit does not exceed 50 kg. If the weight of the equipment is greater than this value, then you will have to prepare the foundation. To do this, you need to destroy the existing screed, pour a cushion of crushed stone and compact it thoroughly. Then tie a mesh of periodic profile reinforcement with a diameter of 8 to 12 mm, lay it on the finished base and fill it with concrete.

In order to withstand the technology of installing gas boilers, the dimensions of the foundation in plan should be 50 mm larger than the dimensions of the equipment, and in height it should protrude 50-100 mm above the level of the screed. Complete hardening concrete slab will take you at least 2 weeks, this must be taken into account when planning the work.

Next, a fireproof asbestos or metal gasket is placed on top of the foundation and a heat generator is placed on it, adjusting the legs of the unit so as to maintain a clear horizontal line. After this, using the gas boiler installation diagram, it is connected to all engineering networks except for the fuel line. This connection, as mentioned above, is carried out by a licensed organization.

To install a wall-mounted gas boiler in a private house, you need not a foundation, but solid foundation in the form of an external wall that is able to support the weight of the unit. First of all, markings are made on it, showing where the heat generator itself will be suspended and where the chimney pipe will exit. Then, using a hammer drill, drill in this place through hole, into which a metal sleeve is inserted.

There is no particular difficulty in hanging a wall-mounted gas boiler. If the action takes place in the kitchen of an apartment or house, it is necessary to take measures to protect the furniture from debris and then begin the fastening process. Difficulties may arise when installing heavy units, whose power reaches 120 kW; here you cannot do without an assistant.

Note. When a wall-hung boiler is attached to a wall made of flammable material, a special bracket must be made to allow a clearance of 45 mm between the wall surface and the rear panel of the heater. Also, a sheet of non-flammable material should be attached to the wall, acting as a protective screen.

The last thing to do is piping the gas boiler and installing the chimney. Here it is necessary to compactly place taps and other fittings under the body of the heat generator so that everything looks neat and at the same time it is possible to disassemble or change any element. Therefore, when the heating circuit in the house is made of polypropylene pipes, then it is better to use bronze taps and mud pans, and plastic pipes connect via threaded adapters. In this regard, it is somewhat more difficult to install a double-circuit gas boiler, where you will need to lay pipes for hot water supply and correctly connect them to the appropriate pipes.

Requirements for chimneys

In essence, the requirements for the chimneys of floor-standing and wall-mounted gas boilers are identical; the difference may be in the design of the flue itself. It depends on the design of the heat source:

  • Heat generators with open camera combustion takes air from the room and expels combustion products through a traditional chimney with natural traction.
  • Units equipped with a closed chamber draw in air from the street forcibly using a fan through a double-walled pipe, which also serves as a flue (coaxial chimney).

A traditional chimney for a gas boiler is installed in the thickness of the wall or suspended from the outside of the building. The cross-section of the outlet pipe from the unit determines the diameter of the entire chimney; it should be the same size, or better yet, 20-50 mm larger. The horizontal section connecting the boiler to chimney, ideally made with a length of 1 m, the maximum permissible length is 2 m.

Below the insertion point, a door is required for cleaning and internal inspection, and the blind end of the vertical pipe is equipped with a condensate drain system. When installing the chimney of a gas boiler, you must remember that it is not allowed to cover the pipe outlet with umbrellas, deflectors, weather vanes, and so on. In accordance with the regulations, only a narrowing nozzle can be installed.

Unlike traditional exhaust ducts for combustion products, it is much easier to install a double-walled chimney for heat generators with a closed chamber. Having done in external wall a hole of the required diameter and having built a metal sleeve into it, a coaxial chimney is installed, which is a horizontal double-walled pipe of a certain length. The only condition that must be met is a slight slope towards the smoke exit. This is done to prevent condensate formed in the air duct from flowing into the boiler.

Conclusion

So, installing and piping the boiler with your own hands is not an easy task, but it is quite feasible. It will take a lot of time and patience to complete all the documentation, but you yourself installation work will take a maximum of 3-4 days, or even less. It is important to prepare well and purchase in advance all the missing elements of the strapping scheme, as well as fasteners.

IN Lately for heating country houses Boilers that run on natural gas are increasingly being used. The principle of their operation is to heat the coolant. Gas boilers have a number of advantages: environmental friendliness, compactness, noiselessness, ease of operation, and the possibility of installation in a private home.

The degree of heating of the entire house depends on the performance of the boiler. But at the same time, the gas that is used as a coolant is a very explosive substance, so the choice of this equipment must be taken seriously, and the existing rules must be followed when installing a gas boiler.

Installing gas boilers with your own hands is quite a complex, labor-intensive and responsible task. Employees of gas supply organizations receive the necessary certificates, the presence of which, however, only authorizes access directly to the gas pipeline.

But a competent and hardworking person can do anything! Moreover, almost any man can handle installing the boiler, supplying water and connecting electricity.

Besides self installation heating devices allows you to save significant money.

Main types

Gas boilers are classified according to various signs: purpose, power produced, type of traction and installation method. Single-circuit boilers are installed exclusively for heating the house, double-circuit ones allow not only to warm up the premises, but also to provide the house with water with the possibility of heating it.

Low-power boilers are regulated according to a single-stage principle, medium-capacity units are regulated according to a two-stage principle. High-performance boilers usually provide modulated power control.

Boilers closed type operate on ventilation draft. There are also natural draft gas boilers - open type, or atmospheric.

The simplest boiler, the so-called “water heater,” consists of gas burner and heat exchanger. Water and gas are connected to it, and the exhaust is discharged into the chimney. But even for installation like this the simplest system Appropriate permission is required! Let us consider in detail the process of installing a wall-mounted and floor-mounted gas boiler of a more complex design.

Installation wall-mounted boiler

  1. We protect the section of the wall where the boiler will be located with a layer of fireproof material, leaving a gap of 4.5 cm between it and the wall.
  2. We prepare the boiler for installation. Under high pressure of water, we clean the walls of the inlet tubes from small debris remaining after assembly.
  3. We install a filter and shut-off valves on the water supply pipe - before and after the filter.
  4. We install the chimney. This device also has certain requirements: the diameter is not less than that specified in the manual for the gas boiler; the cross-section is similar to the chimney opening of the boiler; an elevation above the roof ridge of at least 0.5 m (section 6 of SNiP 41-01-2003, section 4 and Appendix 6 of MDS 40-2.2000). It is best to use a steel cylindrical chimney with a cleaning hole.
  5. Checking the traction. If it deteriorates, the automatic equipment equipped with modern boilers, must stop the gas supply.
  6. With help steel pipe and a special drive for its installation, we insert the boiler into the gas pipeline. To carry out this work, it is necessary to invite gas service specialists.
  7. We connect the gas boiler to the power supply and connect an automatic device for overload protection.

Installation floor boiler

  1. We build a strong pedestal that can withstand the weight of a cast iron boiler. For this purpose, we fill the extension with a concrete screed; in other rooms we use wooden floor put a piece of galvanized sheet iron.
  2. We install the gas boiler with our own hands, controlling its position using a level.
  3. We connect the boiler to the chimney and, if it is not equipped forced exhaust, check the traction.
  4. We connect the boiler with the internal one heating system. At the same time, to protect the unit from blockages, we install a coarse filter, placing it after the outlet line that fills the system with water, before entering the return line boiler.
  5. We connect the double-circuit boiler to the water supply system, making the connection closer to the house, before the branching begins.
  6. Using a steel pipe, we insert the boiler into the gas main, as in the previous case, with the participation of specialists.

Operating rules

In private houses, however, as in any other facilities, gas boilers are allowed to be installed and operated only in dry rooms. High humidity prevents the dispersion of foreign substances in the air, including gas vapors. That is why the requirements for furnaces and the rules for installing gas boilers are so strict (see above).

To increase the performance of the heat exchanger, it is necessary to protect it from dirt and dust using a coarse filter. To improve the quality of water you also need to use filters.

Before the start or at the end heating season It is recommended to carry out maintenance of gas equipment. And, in order to avoid dangerous situations, this must be done regularly!

Maintenance

In progress Maintenance the condition of the chimney and the proper functioning of the ventilation are checked, the filters are cleaned and washed, as well as the entire system. For this you can use detergents, which effectively remove various deposits.

Don't forget about cleaning the burner. Worn parts must be replaced without fail! Before starting the system, you must carefully check the tightness of all connections.

Compliance with established standards, proper connection of the gas boiler, operation in accordance with the rules and timely maintenance will increase the service life of the entire system, while reducing the amount of fuel consumed.

The premises in which the gas boiler will operate are specified in SNiP 31-02-2001, DBN V.2.5-20-2001, SNiP II-35-76, SNiP 42-01-2002 and SP 41-104-2000 - these documents exclude or minimize any emergencies. Premises for placing gas boilers fall under the classification of fire and explosion hazards, therefore, when designing, planning, installing and setting up equipment for gas heating all requirements for the room for installing a gas boiler must be strictly observed.

General requirements for the installation of gas appliances

In the room intended for the installation of a gas boiler, according to the above standards, there must be good natural lighting: per 1 m 3 there must be at least 0.03 m 2 of window opening area (but not windows - partitions, frames and imposts are not taken into account). It is necessary to equip the room with a system supply and exhaust ventilation By following rules: the total volume of forward and reverse air flows per hour, multiplied by 3, is equal to the volume of the total exhaust device. In addition to a window equipped with a window, a door with access to the street is installed in the room. The table shows the requirements for room volume:

Attention!

For gas-fired units with a power of more than 6000 W, 0.2 m3 should be added for each extra unit of power.

Supervisory requirements for the premises for installing a gas boiler stipulate that the operation of any appliances for heating an apartment is permitted on each floor multi-storey building and in any room of the apartment. Kitchens in multi-storey buildings, since they are already equipped with appropriate communications. The only condition is general thermal power all devices for heating water and heating an apartment (boilers, boilers, heating elements, heating radiators, batteries or registers) shall not exceed a total of 150 kW.

The ceiling height in the room is 2 meters or more. The room in which the gas boiler will be installed and operated must be separated from adjacent rooms by solid fire-resistant walls. Material for walls or partitions must have a fire resistance time limit of 0.75 hours (45 minutes). The boiler room must be designed so that in the event of an operational fire there is no possibility for the fire to spread throughout the apartment.

Attention!

Gas boilers of the TLO brand, operating on the principle of natural coolant circulation, can be installed and should be operated only in the basement of the house or in the basement.

Installation of a gas wall-mounted boiler - kitchen requirements

  1. Ceiling - 2 meters and above.
  2. The total volume of the kitchen is more than 7.5 m 3, ventilation is equipped, a window is installed and there is a door opening onto the balcony.
  3. For air exchange, it is necessary to install a grille at the bottom of the wall or door that opens into the next room; the area of the grille is at least 0.02 m2.

To install a gas boiler in the kitchen, you may need permission from the gas service.

If the kitchen in the apartment does not meet the requirements of SNiP, then gas heating equipment can be installed and operated only with the permission of the gas supervision authority.

The existing rules for installing a gas boiler in a private house largely repeat the requirements for boilers that operate in apartments multi-storey buildings. The differences are caused only by the fact that often in a private house there is allocated for heating equipment separate room or a building subject to the additional requirements listed below.

Rules for installing a floor-standing gas boiler

  1. In a house under construction, it is necessary to plan a separate room for installing a gas-fired boiler. The room should have a natural flow of air through a grille in the door or through a hole in the wall.
  2. A separate hole must be made for supply and exhaust ventilation - it must be located under the ceiling.
  3. A hole in the wall for the chimney pipe, a hole below the chimney for a soot brush (for cleaning the chimney pipe), which is made below the main chimney by 20-30 cm.
  4. The chimney is made sealed so that smoke and carbon dioxide did not get back into the room. For tightness inside big pipes A pipe of smaller diameter is installed in the chimney, through which gas combustion products are discharged.
  5. The room intended for installation and operation of a gas boiler must be spacious and provide easy access and operation, maintenance and repair of the boiler. The floor in the furnace room must be made of non-combustible materials - concrete screed, natural stone, paving stones. The furnace room must be connected to the water supply for the operation of the water heating device, and be equipped with a sewerage system.
  6. The area of the room for the boiler is 4 m2, the height of the ceilings in the room is at least 2.5 m2.
  7. Exterior door should be 80 cm wide.
  8. The top of the chimney should be higher than the roof. The cross-section of the chimney pipe should be larger diameter boiler outlet.
  9. To supply power, the boiler room must be equipped with an electrical panel with grounding.
  10. The gas line is brought into the room in advance. A separate valve must be installed for each gas appliance.
  11. The walls of the boiler room are plastered - it is strictly prohibited to decorate the walls with flammable materials (MDF, fiberboard, plastic).

It is prohibited to store flammable liquids and objects near the furnace room and in the room itself. The foundation under (a gas heating unit or a gas heating water heating unit) should not freeze in winter, therefore its depth should be below the level of soil freezing in a given region. Air from vent must be clean, that is, the chimney must be located far from the ventilation hole. The room or building in which the gas boiler is installed cannot be equipped for other purposes.

Rules for installing wall-mounted gas boilers in an apartment

Typically, in an apartment, a gas boiler is installed in the kitchen, since it already has a gas line, water supply and sewerage. That is, a priori, all requirements for the installation of gas equipment have already been met - all that remains is to connect the boiler. This state of affairs automatically reduces the cost of laying utilities and energy resources. It is prohibited to install a gas boiler in premises in high humidity– in the bathroom, laundry room, etc.

There are several additional requirements for wall-mounted boilers:

  1. The wall or partition for hanging the boiler must be able to support it - equipment cannot be hung on a plasterboard or other light partition.
  2. If the wall is decorated with flammable materials (wallpaper, vinyl, plastic, MDF, fiberboard), then a 3 mm thick gasket of non-flammable material is installed between the wall. In this case, the boiler must be secured with special hardware that ensures a distance from the boiler body to the wall of at least 4-5 cm.
  3. The minimum distance from the boiler to the ceiling and walls of the room is 0.5 meters. The distance from the boiler to the floor is 0.8 meters.

Before installing and starting up gas equipment, you must obtain all relevant documents. The main condition when installing a boiler in a private house that runs on gas is that an agreement on connecting the gas main is first concluded, and a project for the installation of gas equipment and gasification of the house is drawn up. These documents are developed and approved by the gas supplier in the region.

Unfortunately, scheduled central heating is not available in all homes. Homeowners in the private sector are forced to independently ensure that their home is warm in winter, and hot water The tap flowed regardless of the season. Many people solve the problem by installing a gas boiler. However, this procedure in a private home is not so simple and is associated with a number of requirements and rules. We will talk about them in the material.

Gas equipment and its types

A gas boiler is a reduced-sized boiler room, equipment that produces thermal energy due to the consumption of natural gas. Used for heating premises, heating tap water for household and household needs.

By the nature of traction

With natural traction The air intake comes from the same room
With forced draft Air is taken from the atmosphere using a built-in fan

When choosing gas equipment, the key requirement is thermal power. It is calculated individually for each household.

For temperate latitudes this is done according to the formula: multiply the area of the house by 100 W plus 20% of the resulting figure for the reserve. If the height of the ceiling vault exceeds 3 m, then the power is calculated as cubic capacity multiplied by the average value of 40 W.

In regions with predominantly low temperature conditions the area of the building is multiplied by 120, and in hot regions - by 80. The increasing safety factor remains unchanged.

Using double-circuit boiler or a boiler-boiler tandem, 50% is added to the reserve. If the circuit also includes buffer tank, then this figure is doubled (up to 100%).

The best options for matching the boiler type to the selected room are collected in the table:

An optional but desirable condition is the installation in the room of a gas analyzer and an emergency shutdown system in the event of a possible fuel leak. For ventilation, you can make a supply air duct, equipped with a grille, in the door of the room or on a wall adjacent to another room.

When calculating the parameters, it is important to take into account the size of the inlet channel. It is equal to the exhaust volume, taking into account the amount of air mixture for combustion specified in the technical data sheet of the boiler.

In private homes, it is the kitchen that meets these requirements., which, as a rule, is pre-designed according to the same type as boiler rooms.

According to building codes and regulations, gas appliances in a private home, including boilers, are prohibited from being installed:

If liquefied petroleum gas is used as fuel, it is prohibited to install the boiler in the basement.

A lot of controversy and discussion revolves around the possibility of installing gas supply equipment in the toilet of a private house. This is completely excluded if the boiler is installed with open system combustion.

Operating in Russian Federation SNiP 02/31/2001 prohibits placement gas appliances any type in bathrooms. However, at the regional level, their own requirements and norms may be adopted, which may be softer and more loyal in this matter.

So, in some regions of the Russian Federation, if the combustion chamber of the device is closed and does not communicate with indoor air, then such installation is possible. In this case, oxygen intake for combustion from the outside should be carried out only through sealed pipes. You can find out about local regulations by contacting your municipal office. gas service or a city licensed design organization.

Having chosen a room and having purchased a device, the homeowner contacts the company that supplies the fuel with an application. In the document filled out by hand, in addition to personal data, the applicant indicates the type and brand of gas supply equipment.

To the application individual attaches necessary documentation:

  • a copy of the certificate of ownership of the land plot on which the home is located
  • situational plan for the territorial location of a plot of land in relation to the coordinates and boundaries of the entire settlement
  • if the maximum planned gas flow rate per hour exceeds 5 m3, then you need to attach a corresponding calculation with exact figures
  • power of attorney to represent the interests of the land owner (if the application is submitted by a legal representative)

It usually takes 5-10 business days to complete the necessary documentation. If, at the end of this period, the company has given the owner the technical specifications, then the design can begin.

The next step is to order and produce design documentation for installation of a gas supply device in a private household. The project includes the following diagrams:

  • actual location of the boiler in the house
  • laying gas communications land plot with mandatory indication of the entry point to the building
  • connections to municipal gas communications

The finished document is submitted for approval to the relevant department government organization , vested with control powers in the field of fuel and energy (most often this is Gorgaz). The procedure takes from 10 days to 2–3 months, depending on how complex the project is.

Included in the required package of documents, which Gorgaz employees require, included:

  1. Technical passport of the purchased gas equipment and instructions for its operation
  2. Sanitary and hygienic certificate
  3. Certificate of Compliance with Technical Requirements
  4. Expert opinion on equipment compliance with rules and regulations

When purchasing a gas supply device, you should check the availability of all specified papers. If for some reason they are not available, you need to request copies from representatives of the boiler manufacturer.

The owner may also be required to provide an updated layout of the building. If it is not there, then a technician will go to the site for an additional fee and draw up an actual schematic drawing. At the same time, gas workers also take into account the wishes of the owners regarding the intended installation location of the boiler.

Based on the results of reviewing the documents, One of two verdicts can be made:

  1. The project has been approved– it is endorsed in 3 copies and certified by the seal of the organization
  2. Project documentation rejected– all papers are returned to the applicant, accompanied by a list of errors that need to be corrected in order to receive a positive conclusion

If the review of documents is favorable, at this stage you can order the installation of internal and external communications.

Installing a boiler without permission will be dangerous and illegal. If such an unauthorized installation is discovered, the owner of the house will be held accountable and will pay a significant fine.

Installed gas equipment

The homeowner can carry out installation work to place the device on a prepared area of the floor or wall, connect it to the ventilation and exhaust the chimney independently. However It is safest to entrust this work to professionals from specialized organizations.

Direct fastening and installation of floor equipment is carried out taking into account the following rules:

  • minimum distance to the opposite wall – 1.25 m
  • free space on both sides for maintenance – 0.7 m
  • clearance to the wall – 5 cm from the back wall of the device

When installed on a wooden floor, a fireproof material is placed under the device: roofing steel or basalt cardboard. On 3 sides the lining protrudes beyond the dimensions of the device by 10 cm, in front it is 70 cm longer. The walls are also sheathed with mineralite slabs, asbestos sheets or galvanized steel sheets more than 1 mm thick.

If the boiler is mounted, then the minimum indentations should have the following values:

A mounted appliance in a wooden room is also insulated from the walls with fireproof material protruding 100 mm beyond the dimensions. The length of the steel or asbestos gasket should be at the bottom longer boiler 700 mm. Thickness insulating material ideally 3 cm or more.

The most simple conditions are pulled out when installing a parapet device. The key requirement is that the room has window and doorway more than 80 cm. This boiler is also considered the safest, because the ventilation and chimney system is contained in one pipe.

Despite the fact that today there is a large number of alternative sources heat, gas equipment is still in demand in this area. Gas boilers can supply the room necessary warmth. Moreover, they can be installed both in an apartment and in a private house. In this article we will look at the requirements for this process, and you will also find out that installing a gas boiler yourself is possible.

  • If the boiler has a power of up to 150 kW, then its installation is possible in any non-residential premises at home, for example, a bathroom, a bathroom, a kitchen.
  • Boiler power from 150 kW or more is limited in the choice of location. A place for installation on the ground or first floor is allowed.
  • If the installation location is a kitchen, then per 1 kW of its power there should be 0.2 m 3.
  • In case of a gas leak, there must be a device in the room to turn off the gas supply.
  • After installing the gas boiler, all main components should be provided with sufficient access for maintenance.
  • As for the walls of the room, they must have a fire resistance level of up to 45 minutes.
  • There are also requirements for the cross-section of the ventilation grille. Calculations are taken for 1 kW of power 8 cm 2.

Separate requirements also apply to the chimney system:

  • The diameter of the chimney must correspond to the specified parameter in the boiler data sheet.
  • The pipe should be 0.5 m higher than the ridge.
  • The chimney pipe should be no more than 25.
  • Up to 3 folds are allowed.
  • There must be special openings for cleaning the chimney.
  • The diameter of the chimney must be equal to or greater than the chimney opening.

When installing a boiler in the kitchen, it is important to ensure the following conditions:

  • At a height of no less than 800 mm from the floor.
  • There must be free space under the boiler.
  • It is recommended to lay a metal sheet on the floor under the boiler.

Before installing the boiler, you must have the necessary documentation that allows you to do this. In particular, a gas supply project is being created for your apartment or house. These documents are developed by the gas supply organization. In the course of obtaining this documentation, you may be required to provide a package of documents that includes the fact that you are the owner of this living space.

The floor-standing boiler is quite heavy. Therefore, first of all, it is necessary to prepare the surface where the wall-mounted boiler will stand. This includes the following:

  • The screed is poured onto the floor. The floor should be treated with non-combustible material. Make sure the surface is perfectly flat.
  • It is also advisable to cover the walls with non-combustible material. Otherwise, it is impossible to move the boiler close to the wall. It will be necessary to maintain a distance of up to 10 cm.

When all preparations are completed, installation begins auxiliary equipment. This includes:

  • Expansion tank.
  • Collector.
  • Hydroarrow.
  • Boiler, etc.

Installation is much easier when there is a project on which all installation locations are indicated. You mark the walls using it, and then make holes for fastening. It is also recommended to connect the installed equipment already at this stage to the pipeline going to radiators or to heated floors.

If the boiler is already installed, connecting the equipment to the pipes may be difficult. For this reason, it is better to carry out all this work before installing the boiler.

As for the installation of a floor-standing boiler in the house, first of all you should screw on it the fittings and adapters that connect to the pipeline. Adapters can be of different diameters. For example, if the system has natural circulation, then thick pipes are supplied to the boiler. If forced circulation, then the pipes and, accordingly, adapters will be of small diameter.

Having moved the boiler to the prepared place, it should be connected to the chimney. Next, connect the security group and connect it to the rest of the harness.

If you have ever hung cabinets, shelves and similar items, then installing a wall-mounted boiler will not be difficult for you. The wall must be level and strong. In most cases, boilers in an apartment are mounted on mounting strip. It should be fixed to the wall at the required height. Depending on the wall finish, it may need to be secured to non-flammable material, thickness up to 3 mm. Also take into account the fact that the boiler should be hung at a distance of at least 20 cm from other equipment.

Modern wall-mounted boilers have bottom connection to the heating and water supply system. Therefore, after fixing the boiler to the wall, the boiler is tied.

Connection to the gas pipeline

After installing the boiler, it is also necessary to connect the gas pipeline. This stage of work should be done carefully, because you shouldn’t “joke” with gas. The connection includes the installation of a filter and a valve, which can be used to shut off the gas supply if necessary. Next, connect a special gas hose. But under no circumstances should you install a rubber hose. After a while it will crack. Paronite gaskets are used to seal the threads. After tightening the hose nut, be sure to check it for gas leakage.
