Systems for sliding wardrobes: options

The domestic market learned about unusual cabinets with doors, like in train compartment cars, less than 20 years ago. And since then, everyone has loved them so much that they are still one of the most popular storage systems and the most popular cabinet furniture.

The main mechanisms that allow doors to smoothly open to the side are special systems of guides, rollers and hangers, which will be discussed below.

Types and features of systems

The wardrobe system is understood as a special sliding mechanism for the doors, which helps to characteristically open the wardrobe doors, without swinging them open, but smoothly moving them in one plane.

Components of systems for sliding wardrobes:

  • guide rails;
  • rollers;
  • profiles;
  • closers and seals;
  • door leaf;
  • accessories.

The principle of operation of the entire system is simple: rollers, as if on rails, move the cabinet door in the plane of the upper and lower cabinet rails, thereby ensuring the opening and closing of the wardrobe.

Sliding systems: 2 options

There are several types of designs of this kind for sliding wardrobes today. The overall service life of the furniture, comfort of use and some subtleties of installation and subsequent operation depend on their features and the quality of execution of the component elements.

Possible variations of the sliding wardrobe system are presented in the table:

Photo Description

Option 1. Roller (frame)

The system has a frame made of wood, steel or aluminum profile, which not only gives rigidity to the entire structure, but also prevents deformation of the door leaf.

It also sets a clear direction for the door to move along the guides, eliminating the possibility that the door will “lead.”

The upper rollers in this case can be:

  • symmetrical (mounted on a closed profile);
  • asymmetrical (installed on an open profile). The lower wheels bear the main load and move along a durable lower guide with one or more tracks (depending on the number of sashes).
Option 2. Hanging

This option is the simplest and most economical, but not as reliable as the frame system.

The principle is this: track rails are mounted in the upper part, and the main load falls on the upper rollers.

There are no guides or rollers at the bottom (the doors can “hover” above the floor level), or there are small auxiliary wheels.

Hanging systems for sliding wardrobes are a simple mechanism that you can assemble yourself without spending on the services of specialists.

Manufacturing materials: 2 options

Cheap fittings and system parts are not only more fragile, but also louder and often fail. Economy class wardrobes, as a rule, open quite noisily, you can hear the distinct tapping of the rollers on the rails, and the door leaves themselves often jam. This is unacceptable in premium systems.

The materials used for the production of hanging systems are described in the table below.

Photo Description

Option 1. Steel

It would seem that durable stainless steel should not be cheap, but steel systems are considered the most affordable.

Features of steel elements:

  • efficiency;
  • ensuring the operation of the system. But if used carelessly, the steel can become deformed, so there is no need to talk about reliability.

Option 2. Aluminum

This material is the most preferred, although aluminum elements will be more expensive.

Frames and guides made of extruded, durable, but thin anodized aluminum can withstand significant loads and last a long time.

Peculiarities:

  • high quality supporting elements;
  • lightness and strength;
  • noiselessness;
  • duration of operation;
  • reliability and practicality.

It should be remembered that budget solutions for compartment storage systems cannot have an aluminum sliding system. Therefore, when choosing, rely not only on the price factor, but also on the performance characteristics of the moving mechanisms.

Types of wheels

A special place is reserved for rollers in the sliding compartment system. It largely depends on them how easily, smoothly and silently the doors will move, while the entire weight of the doors also falls on them.

The sizes of the wheels are different, but smaller ones (for example, for an open and closed vertical profile) are used as auxiliary elements that allow you to fix the canvas in a vertical position.

Large wheels perform motor and support functions; they account for the entire mass of the door leaf.

The rim material greatly affects the smoothness and quietness of the ride. Typically used rims are:

  • rubber;
  • become;
  • plastic;
  • composite materials;
  • Teflon.

Budget sliding systems have a simple roller design, but this affects their service life. A good wheel system is equipped with sealed bearings and shock absorption, which allows for additional adjustment and ensures smooth movement of the door leaf when the floor is uneven.

Guides

The rails that ensure the movement of doors on wheels in a certain plane can be arranged in three ways:

  • from below (lower support systems);
  • at the top (upper support);
  • in the form of a semicircle (radius) - for non-standard designs.

Moreover, on the guides, regardless of their location, there are special tracks, the number of which is a multiple of the number of cabinet doors: it is along these tracks that the wheels move.

Advantages and disadvantages

Such a huge popularity of sliding wardrobes is largely due to their unusual mechanism for opening the doors. What can be noted as advantages:

Photo Description

Plus 1

Ease of use even in small spaces.

The movement of doors in one plane saves usable space and makes it possible to install a wardrobe even in small rooms.

Plus 2

There is minimal effort required to open/close the cabinet, and there is no possibility of accidentally pinching fingers (wall-mounted systems are equipped with closers, locking, stoppers and other fittings).

Plus 3

Doors can serve a decorative function, and the range of their designs is quite diverse.

Plus 4

Furniture is assembled taking into account the individual dimensions of the room (there are both ready-made options and those assembled to order according to individual measurements).

Plus 5

A well-chosen system lasts a long time and is absolutely silent.

Plus 6

The roller system can be used as an element of the enclosing structure (interior partitions), then the fastening of the guides can be either wall-mounted or cassette with niches for doors.

It is impossible to find significant shortcomings - there are none. But when buying or ordering a wardrobe, pay attention to the quality of the material and workmanship. The combination of these factors will ensure easy and long-term operation of the furniture.

When choosing systems for sliding wardrobes, you should consider the following factors:

  • material and quality of the profile. Steel elements are thicker and less wear-resistant, so preference should be given to the more aesthetic and resistant aluminum. The choice of color coatings for aluminum strips is more varied, which allows you to choose the ideal combination with the rest of the fittings;
  • coating. Color coating with imitation of gold, silver, patina and other decorative solutions must be uniform, without bubbles, irregularities, etc.;
  • quality of rollers and rim material. Flawlessly assembled rollers from a trusted manufacturer guarantee proper operation of the mechanism throughout its entire operational life, and the rim made of soft materials additionally reduces noise when moving;
  • design features and the possibility of self-assembly. In the case of the suspension system, you can easily assemble it yourself: the diagram describes in detail all the details and the process. In other cases, it would be useful to inquire about the qualifications of the installer;

Conclusion

When choosing a hanging system for wardrobes, be guided not only by the desire to save money. Remember that the quality of materials and correct assembly directly depend on the service life, and everyone wants the furniture in their home to last a long time and bring pleasure from use.

In the video presented in this article you will find additional information on this topic.

The design of guides for sliding sliding doors includes various components and parts, the main function of which is to ensure the movement of various elements of furniture structures. For example, they ensure free (without jamming) sliding of the doors of various types of cabinets.

Today, two systems of guide mechanisms are most common:

  • door, which include several design varieties;
  • for extending box structures - table drawers, sofa trays, tabletop extensions and shelving.

Of greatest interest are systems for sliding interior sliding doors and sliding wardrobe doors.

Main functional purpose

Various types of sliding door guides must ensure the free closing and opening of sliding doors, regardless of whether they are interior doors or cabinet doors. The basis of any design is the rails along which the doors move horizontally using rollers.

Additional accessories include:

  • roller hangers or supports;
  • profile seals and plugs;
  • clamps;
  • small fittings;
  • additional devices, the availability of which depends on the specific choice of rollers and guides.

The choice of guide profile depends on the overall dimensions of the furniture parts, the weight of the sashes, their number and other factors. It is not difficult to purchase all the necessary components and fittings for furniture today; just look at the price list of any furniture supermarket. On the modern furniture market there are budget options:

  • "SLIDER-Volkhovets"
  • "Framir"
  • "Herkules" or "Rollan".

So are imported ones, the price of which is quite high:

  • "Raumplus"
  • "Francco"
  • "Archie"
  • "Hangroller"

Guides

When choosing a profile for sliding doors, regardless of the type of sliding system, the main attention is paid to the material of its manufacture. Today they are made from various materials.

The plastic guide profile has the lowest cost, but has a significant drawback - relatively poor reliability and short service life. Today, combined rail supports are mainly used, in which a plastic profile has a metal supporting surface for the rollers.

Steel rail supports are highly reliable. Their price is low and depends primarily on the brand. Moreover, sometimes the cost is clearly too high compared to the performance properties and ease of installation.

Rail supports of all well-known furniture brands are made from aluminum, including circular guides for sliding doors. They have the best technical characteristics and high ergonomic and aesthetic properties. Thanks to their optimized properties, they can be used to install sliding panels of any weight and width, up to five meters in height. The only drawback is the significant cost.

Depending on the type of hanging option and the number of sashes, rail guides can be one-, two- or three-lane. In addition, the supports themselves are made straight or curved.

To increase decorativeness and aesthetics, almost all elements and parts are anodized, chrome-plated or painted using powder coating technology. The type of tinting can be anything, ranging from traditional silver, gold or wood texture, and up to “antique bronze”.

Types of sliding systems

In residential premises, sliding doors with an upper or lower swing type are most widespread.

Thanks to this, transverse vibrations of the hung canvas are eliminated. The undoubted advantage of this mechanism is the integrity of the floor covering, it is more aesthetically pleasing and easier to open. If the lower profile is installed below the floor level, a threshold-free structure is obtained, and the locking rollers of the sliding doors will move along a hidden guide.

The lower one has a similar design, but the supporting element is the lower, fixed profile. The top rail and rollers prevent the sashes from falling out.

Combined systems, in which the sashes are supported and fixed along the upper and lower profiles, are more reliable. However, they are more difficult to install and adjust.

The first option is mainly used when arranging sliding partitions and creating interior sliding doors that move along the wall. The second and third are predominantly used in wardrobes.

Most commercially available kits are classified according to their load capacity, which depends on the total weight of the door leaves. In addition, when selling any kit, a supermarket salesperson or online store manager will definitely ask the client about the type of system (suspended or support) and the preferred price range.

A video clearly showing the types of guides and their attachment points.

Installation

The process of installing sliding doors is simple and consists of assembling all the components, parts and fittings included in the purchased kit. In this case, the apartment owner himself decides whether he will order sliding panels separately or purchase them together with a set. Any person with minimal plumbing skills will be able to perform the installation work independently. However, the assembly process itself requires special care and precision. The first step in installing any horizontally sliding panels is to install and secure the support profiles.

The reliability of the operation of sliding doors and the ease of their operation depend on the qualified and careful installation of the guides. This applies to both top and bottom rail systems and longitudinal opening types. In case of poor installation, the possibility of the sash coming off cannot be ruled out. Of course, such a situation will not lead to tragic consequences, but the work to restore the functionality of the doors is quite labor-intensive.

The simplest option is installation with a single-strip support rail.

This option is used for installing single-leaf interior doors or double-leaf ones, when the leaves are installed without overlap, but end-to-end and slide apart in opposite directions. Let's look at the fastening process using their example.

The assembly of any sliding system begins with fastening the upper support profile. Typically, this operation does not cause problems. For installation, in most cases it is necessary to attach an additional beam to the wall, above the doorway. For a single-leaf door, its minimum length should be equal to double the width of the opening. If double-leaf interior doors are installed in a living space, then the length of the beam should be equal to four times the width of the opening.

After fixing the upper profile, pre-assembled sashes are hung on it. For most industrially manufactured kits, this operation is performed by simply “winding” the door rollers through the end of the support profile.

The hung canvas is aligned vertically, using a level or laser plumb line. Next, you need to secure the bottom guide to the floor. Its installation and fastening depends on the sliding door system (hung or supported), the type of rollers and the nuances of the purchased kit. Usually, at the first stage of installing the lower or fixing profile, it is not rigidly fastened. Having secured it “live”, they check the functionality of the entire structure and only after making sure that the assembly is correct and the panels slide freely, they finally fix it.

Often the fastening of both parts is carried out before installing the rollers on the canvas. The sequence of work is similar to that described above. The alignment of the rail in the vertical plane is controlled using a building level, and the distance between their surfaces is controlled using a regular tape measure. After installing the support profiles, the door leaves are assembled, which are then hung in the usual way.

The video clearly shows the process of installation and installation of sliding wardrobe doors.

Of course, there are other assembly schemes. Some “craftsmen” generally refuse to purchase a full set, purchasing only videos. At the same time, there are more options for creativity, both in the choice of panels themselves and fastening parts.

Features of installation of “pure” hinged sliding doors

Today, in the online trading system and in furniture supermarkets, you can purchase kits for installing sliding doors without a bottom guide. A typical representative is the Raumplus kits.

Preventing vibrations of hanging sliding doors is carried out due to the special design of the upper roller support and the weight of the door leaf. The roller support has a rather complex mechanism. Typically a roller carriage contains four rollers. The advantages of “Raumplus” type structures include ease of installation. The home craftsman should only securely fasten the top profile and install the panels.

However, support-free suspension systems require more careful maintenance and handling. An alternative to these are bottom support wheel designs, which do not require a bottom support rail. In this case, the door leaves have special wheels at the bottom that roll freely directly on the floor surface. As a rule, the lower wheels are spring-loaded, which to a certain extent compensates for uneven floors.

Undoubtedly, the optimal solution for installing sliding interior doors is to contact specialized companies that sell roller kits and install them on a turnkey basis. Most of them offer customers several options when placing an order, differing in both systems and final design. However, many homeowners, after considering various options, opt for self-installation. It is not uncommon for home craftsmen to completely refuse to purchase ready-made kits, purchasing separate panels, separate upper and lower profiles, and ordering roller supports individually.

Gallery of furniture with sliding doors

Various sliding wardrobes allow you not only to save living space, but are also a great way to diversify the interior of a bedroom or hallway.

When assembling a sliding wardrobe yourself, it is important to know what each part that comes with the product is intended for. In order for the fittings for sliding wardrobes to be selected correctly, it is worth understanding the purpose of each part, as well as studying the filling elements of the products.

Sliding wardrobes are considered furniture that helps to significantly save space in a room. Due to the fact that products are often made to the full height of the wall, there is more usable space inside. You can fit a lot of clothes, accessories, shoes and even small household appliances here. Instead of using a hinged door system, premium or economy class coupes are equipped with sliding doors. This approach allows you to rationally use the space of the room.

Depending on the type of fittings for the sliding wardrobe, it is intended for the following purposes:

  • installation of sliding doors;
  • full functioning of the boxes;
  • reliable operation and opening of doors;
  • fixing door leaves;
  • careful use of cabinet doors and walls;
  • convenient use of internal filling.

Cabinet components are usually supplied with the product body disassembled. During the assembly process, you can independently supplement the furniture with other fittings, if there is a designated space for it.

Accessories

Varieties

Thanks to a special door opening system, the fittings of a sliding wardrobe will differ significantly from the fittings of its swing counterpart. Today, a standard sliding wardrobe is equipped with the following types of elements:

  • profiles – necessary for the operation of doors;
  • guides - doors move along them;
  • rollers - wheels for moving the sashes;
  • stoppers – position locks;
  • seals - allow the door not to spoil the surface of the body from the inside;
  • sliding system - a type of mechanism for operating the sashes.

Each of the listed types should be considered separately, highlighting the main features.

Guides

Profiles

The modern market of furniture fittings for sliding wardrobes classifies profiles into 2 types:

  • steel - has a relatively low cost and is often used for economy class sliding wardrobes or domestic models. Externally, it has a limited color palette, which is why it is gradually losing its popularity;
  • aluminum - presented in two subtypes at once - a profile with an anodized coating, as well as an option in a PVC shell. Such profiles are durable, light in weight and have a wide range. Aluminum parts are produced in a wide range of colors and textures, so choosing a shade for the product is not difficult.

Aluminum

Steel

Profiles for sliding doors made of aluminum with an anodized coating have a particularly hard surface, which is why they are considered durable and resistant to mechanical damage. This product does not scratch or fade in the sun.

If the goal is silent operation of the cabinet and doors, it is better to give preference to an aluminum profile in PVC.

Guides

These parts are supplied in quantities of 2 pieces. for one product. One of them is installed on the top panel of the compartment, the other is mounted on the bottom bar. In the space between the guides there is a door along which it moves. According to the manufacturing materials, the guides are made of plastic, aluminum and steel.

Aluminum guides have excellent characteristics: they are ergonomic and aesthetic, and have a wide range of colors. Despite the relatively high cost, such elements are durable.

Guides for the door mechanism are:

  • single-lane;
  • two-lane;
  • three-lane.

This indicator depends on the type of mechanism and the number of doors in the cabinet. The top rails also have several rows according to the number of doors. These parts are installed using wood screws.

Double-slide

Single-slide

Rollers

High-quality rollers are responsible for moving the sashes along the body strip. They consist of a base and wheels that run along guides. The higher the quality of the rollers, the smoother and softer the door will operate. Most elements are equipped with bearings to prevent noise.

Cabinet casters are available in two versions:

  • asymmetry - such a device is used to move the door along the lower guide. The entire support of the sash falls on the lower wheel, the upper one is supporting. This roller is suitable for sliding cabinet doors with an open handle. The part itself can be adjusted in height;
  • symmetry - this option is installed in systems with a closed cabinet handle. Elements can be built into a product with mirror, glass or plastic facades.

When selecting rollers, you should pay attention to their quality: symmetrical elements allow you to install the door without distortions, ensuring its smooth and precise operation.

Asymmetrical

Stopper

Fittings for coupe models always include stoppers. They are supplied in quantities of 1 piece. for 1 door. A stopper is installed on the lower aluminum guide in order to fix the door in the right place when opening. It is a thin metal bar with mustaches - springs. The part works according to this principle:

  • when the door is opened, the roller moves along the lower guide;
  • the wheel runs into the lower plate of the stopper;
  • the roller falls into the gap between the plates and the door is blocked.

Many owners believe that there is no need to install such accessories, but they turn out to be wrong. For a two-door design, stoppers may not be used, but if there are more than two doors, such an element becomes necessary for convenience.

Buy high-quality steel stoppers, and check them for integrity before installation.

Stopper location

Sealant

This element is installed on the side of compartment doors and ensures a tight fit of the door to the body. Today, seals are made of silicone and polyurethane. It is worth considering the main types of seals for compartment furniture:

  • n-shaped 4 mm - used for cabinet facades equipped with plastic, glass or mirror, 4 mm thick. Suitable for aluminum profile;
  • herringbone type - structurally different from the first option, but also suitable for mirror and glass surfaces;
  • n-shaped 8 mm - used for decorative inserts on facades, 8 mm thick.

In addition to the indicated seals, a schlegel is glued to the end of the door - a soft brush that helps prevent the door from hitting the body. The vertical guide of the fittings for sliding wardrobe doors has grooves for gluing this element. The bristles on the brush are available in thicknesses of 6 and 12 mm, so owners have the opportunity to choose the option according to its intended purpose.

Sliding system

Due to the great popularity of sliding wardrobes, components for them are produced both assembled and separately. The Versailles system is considered the most common on the furniture market, according to which a large number of cabinets are now produced.

Sliding systems are the main important elements of the compartment mechanisms, thanks to which the doors operate. Today the following options are distinguished:

  • support systems - this option consists of two aluminum guides, rollers and a profile for assembling a stiffening frame. This system is easy to assemble, reliable and applicable to large doors;
  • suspension systems - consist only of an upper guide, a roller carriage and stoppers. The door in the system has completely silent opening, and the components are affordable. In addition, the hanging system is applicable to doors that are not framed with a profile.

It is necessary to choose the type of sliding system in accordance with the weight of the doors, facades and mechanism.

Hanging

Filling elements

The main task of a wardrobe is to provide maximum storage capacity for clothes. That is why much attention is paid to the internal space. Today, cabinet assembly kits may include the following contents:

  • chipboard shelves;
  • pipes for hanging clothes;
  • pull-out baskets or drawers;
  • tie racks;
  • retractable pantographs.

Baskets and drawers are mounted on special ball guides with a length equal to the depth of the products. The rods are secured with self-tapping screws using flanges.

The quality of the product as a whole depends on its quality and technical characteristics. A poor-quality system can shorten the life of a hallway wardrobe by at least half, turning a luxurious piece of furniture into a useless pile of chipboard. Therefore, the choice of such an important detail should be approached thoughtfully, having studied all the pros and cons of the options offered by the furniture manufacturer. Despite the huge number of manufacturers of sliding systems, today only two types are relevant: a support sliding system and a hinged sliding system. The supporting one involves supporting the doors on lower rollers mounted on the rails of the lower profile. These rollers take all the load on themselves, leaving the upper rollers to perform a purely supportive function.

The suspension system differs from the support system in that the load-bearing function is performed by the upper rollers, and the lower ones do not exist at all. However, high-quality suspension systems, for example Cinetto made in Italy, are very expensive and are not as popular in our country as support systems. In turn, support sliding systems can be divided into frame and frameless. Frameless systems do not use profile edging of the door leaf. This does not allow the production of large doors, since it has to be made thicker to maintain rigidity. Frame systems involve edging with a profile that imparts rigidity to the door; therefore, during production, a material of less thickness is used, and the doors themselves are made in large sizes. Of the manufacturers of support systems, the most famous in our country are the four leaders in the production of furniture fittings of this kind. These are Versal, Aristo, Raumplus and Komandor. Each of them has its pros and cons, but in general they represent the segment of the highest quality sliding door systems sold in our country. Let's consider each of them separately.

Sliding systems Raumplus

The systems of the manufacturer Raumplus are the highest quality of those presented. The mechanism for connecting the profiles completely eliminates their spontaneous connection, which is a definite plus. The maximum load carried by the lower rollers is equivalent to a weight of 60 kilograms, and the maximum door height reaches 3500 millimeters. Thanks to the special design of the lower rollers in Raumplus systems, the position of the doors can be independently adjusted within 15 millimeters. The rigidity of the structure is ensured by a fairly large profile thickness of 1.2 millimeters, which ensures its high strength. All types of profiles are anodized. The thickness of the coating reaches 20-30 microns, which completely protects structures from the influence of oxidative processes. The guaranteed operation of the system is determined for a period of 25 years, or 100,000 openings and closings of each door.

Sliding systems Komandor

The main advantage of Komandor sliding door systems is the improved bottom roller design. The roller has an increased tensile strength, due to which it is able to withstand heavy loads. This allows you to slightly increase the maximum door dimensions. Also, special hooks on the lower roller prevent the door from sliding off the rails while moving. The profile is made of rigid aluminum alloy, which increases the reliability of the structure as a whole, however, the profile fastenings are not as reliable as those of the Raumplus systems. This can cause arbitrary disconnection of the profiles that make up the frame of the door leaf. All profiles are coated with polyester varnish or anodized to protect against the influence of aggressive environments. The shape of the profiles allows the door to slide freely along the rail, reducing the load. This increases the service life of the system as a whole.

Sliding systems Aristo

The main advantage of the Aristo sliding door system is the high-strength profile made from primary aluminum by extrusion. The strength of the profile allows us to produce doors up to 5 meters high. The lower rollers can withstand loads of up to 80 kilograms and can carry a door with a total weight of 160 kilograms. Another feature of Aristo profiles is the wide range of colors provided by the technology of applying anti-oxidation coating to the profile. The profile is wrapped in a polymer film of the required color, which, thanks to etching technology, is firmly attached to it. The estimated service life of the Aristo sliding system is about 30 years, or up to 110,000 door openings and closings. The disadvantages include an insufficiently perfect mechanism for connecting profiles, which sometimes leads to their arbitrary separation, as well as the absence of a mechanism that prevents the lower roller from leaving the guide rail.

Sliding systems Versal

The main advantages of the Versal sliding door system are the perfect accuracy of matching profile dimensions, ease of assembly and the large height of the top rail, which allows you to hide uneven ceilings, and low cost. This system is almost a complete analogue of the Raumplus sliding system, but it is less durable. The profiles are covered with a protective film of various colors, the bottom roller can withstand loads of up to 60 kilograms, and the rigidity of the profile allows the production of doors with a height of up to 3500 millimeters. The design strength is up to 70,000 door openings and closings, or 17-18 years. Using the data from our comparative characteristics, you can make an informed choice in favor of one or another sliding system when ordering a sliding wardrobe. It should be remembered that profiles for systems are manufactured in two versions - aluminum and steel. Steel profiles are much cheaper, however, despite their name, they have a smaller margin of safety than aluminum ones and are more susceptible to corrosion, which entails a shorter service life of the product as a whole.

Making important choices in your life is never easy. The same is true when the question concerns which one to choose, because without the help of a professional and without special skills it is very difficult to decide. Our article is dedicated to beginners in this matter, because here are the key factors that need to be relied upon.

Unusual wardrobe layout

Sliding door mechanisms for wardrobes can be of only two types:

In order not to make a mistake when choosing which sliding system to choose for your wardrobe, you should adhere to the following tips:

  • It is best to opt for a bottom-support mechanism, since these cabinets are much easier to operate and are also more affordable financially. These elements are the most popular on the market. The door of such a cabinet moves smoothly using upper and lower rollers. The emphasis is certainly on the latter;
  • A cabinet supported on upper rollers is best chosen for built-in structures, or for full-fledged dressing rooms. The advantages of this installation method include the absence of lower supports, which will come in handy in the clothing storage items described above. In this case, you will have to decorate the door somewhat, because manufacturers in most cases focus on the high-quality functionality of the mechanism rather than on aesthetic appeal.

Sliding wardrobe with original print

It is also very important to correctly decide what material to choose for the sliding wardrobe system, so that it is durable, comfortable, and fits into the overall look. Let's look at the main materials that are usually chosen for these purposes:

  • Natural wood;
  • Stainless steel;
  • Aluminum;
  • Combined option.

Let's look at each of them in more detail.

Wooden structures appear to us as an attractive frame with a unique decor, for which almost any elements can be selected. From a visual point of view, they resemble interior doors, since the shape and structure are the same.

Structural elements made of aluminum are the most popular. Their demand is due to the variety of shapes, configurations, as well as basic accessibility. Judging objectively, it was the high decorative properties of aluminum that allowed it to become a leader. The fact is that doors made of this material can be painted with any paint, decorated to look like wood, or the surface can be covered with any type of film. Among other things, you can come up with an original design option yourself and have it made to order.

The assembly process is completely simple. To make aluminum doors, self-tapping screws are used, which are inserted into pre-drilled holes.

Wardrobe made of natural wood

Representatives of any class can choose the type of aluminum to suit their income level, making the design accessible to everyone.

Doors made of steel are gradually losing their relevance and popularity, since they are a truly outdated option. Steel elements are gradually being replaced by aluminum doors, which are much better and more practical in their properties, and the cost is almost the same.

The option in which materials are combined is the most original. Here you can give free rein to your imagination, masterfully combining wood and glass, plastic and metal, aluminum and natural stone. You can limit yourself only to your own desires and budget.
