Which skirting board to choose for the floor? How to choose the right floor plinth The best skirting boards for the floor.

The modern range of skirting boards is quite large and very often the buyer chooses this important detail interior at random. Installing an unsuccessful plinth can ruin all efforts to create original interior to zero, which is why it is so important to study the problem thoroughly in advance.

Deciding how to choose floor plinth so that it is aesthetically pleasing, practical and not trivial, first you need to evaluate and take into account several significant factors that will help you decide what exactly suits you best.

Characteristics of the plinth itself:

  • what material is it made of?
  • what width does it have?
  • shape – standard straight or curved, enveloping interior elements, to order;
  • color spectrum.

Features of the room in which the floor plinth is supposed to be laid:

  • wall color;
  • floor color;
  • door trim color;
  • floor material;
  • presence of wires that need to be hidden.

Based on this data, you can easily select the baseboard option that will most satisfy you and decorate the room.

What material to choose a plinth from?

All the variety of skirting boards on store shelves are made from artificial or natural materials:

  • natural solid wood;
  • veneer;
  • laminate;
  • plastic (PVC);
  • ceramics;
  • metal;
  • cork.

In order to decide what material to choose a plinth from, remember what the floors in the room are made of:

  • with floor covering natural wood- laminate, solid wood boards, parquet boards - combined with wooden baseboards from the same species, veneered models of a similar shade and texture;
  • together with roll, tile or liquid linoleum, carpet, laminate, PVC floor skirting boards look great, in addition, plastic strips are used for edging complex structures, since special production technology allows them to be made flexible and bendable;
  • For walls made of MDF, skirting boards made of the same material are also perfect;
  • metal skirting boards are original and unusual, choose them boldly if the room has linoleum, self-leveling, polyurethane, porcelain tile floors or carpeting;
  • for cork floors - cork skirting boards;
  • when laying ceramic tiles today they use ceramic skirting boards that match the color and design;
  • For laminated floors you can choose not only wooden or PVC skirting boards, but also planks covered with laminate.

Today, you can choose a model with a cable channel made of any material, even for baseboards made of natural wood.

Pros and cons of the most common skirting boards

1) Wooden plinth is made from a solid solid of coniferous, deciduous trees or more exotic species. Its positive properties:

  • long service time;
  • the ability to restore the original appearance if necessary;
  • naturalness;
  • easy adjustment to the desired size.

The disadvantages include:

  • rapid spoilage in high humidity conditions;
  • installation only on perfectly flat surfaces;
  • attachment using self-tapping screws, which can be problematic for non-specialists.

Despite the apparent difficulties and disadvantages of wooden floor skirting boards, the purchase of these environmentally friendly panels fully justifies their high cost.

2) Not inferior in environmental friendliness and appearance wood panels veneered plinth, but the price is much lower and it is easier to attach. In the production of such skirting boards, inexpensive wood is used for the base, most often it is pine, which is opened from above thin layer more valuable timber. The main disadvantage, as with solid baseboards, is their susceptibility to moisture and sudden changes in temperature, which limits the use of veneer panels when there are heated floors in the room.

3) Made from fibreboards medium density manufacture MDF and laminated skirting boards with the following advantages:

  • cheapness;
  • the ability to preserve color and pattern even when exposed to sunlight;
  • ease of attachment with liquid nails, glue or using specially installed staples;
  • ease of care;
  • resistance to damage to the surface layer (scratches, light impacts, etc.) thanks to special impregnations;
  • a large number of different shades suitable for any interior style.

Disadvantages include fear of moisture and low strength compared to previous models.

4) Plastic floor panels have a lot of advantages, the main one of which is their cost-effectiveness. Others include:

  • ease of installation;
    • ability to hide wires;
    • installation on imperfect walls;
    • a wide variety of colors, shapes, sizes;
    • resistance to dirt, high humidity, rot, rust.

The appearance of such a plinth will be quite simple, which must be taken into account if there are elite coatings on the floor in the room.

5) Floor ceramic skirting boards usually come complete with tiles and are characterized by properties inherent in any ceramics:

  • strength;
  • vapor permeability – provides ventilation in rooms;
  • water absorption;
  • moisture resistance;
  • ease of cleaning;
  • non-toxic;
  • durability;
  • fire safety;
  • color fastness.

The color can match the main background and tile pattern, or contrast with it, which is typical for rooms with bold, modern styles.

6) Metals used for the production of skirting boards are usually aluminum, stainless steel, and brass. Products made from these materials:

  • very durable;
  • durable;
  • wear-resistant;
  • fireproof;
  • moisture resistant;
  • impregnated with antimicrobial compounds.

Metal panels look quite unique and are often used in high-tech rooms.

7) Natural cork wood is used both for the manufacture of floors and accompanying baseboards. The color is usually natural, more or less dark. View of such floor panels as cork flooring, are very rich and luxurious. The price is quite consistent with the appearance.

How to successfully choose the color and size of the plinth

Options for choosing the color of the baseboard:

  • the same tone as the floor is a standard rule, trust it if the style of the room is close to classic;
  • matching the color of uniformly painted walls - will not only give the room sophistication, but also visually increase the height of the ceilings;
  • same color and size with door trim;
  • bright, unusual shades, combined with color spots in the interior - an idea for the most daring;
  • snow-white – chic and elegance of the room.

The standard width of the plinth is 4–7 cm. The height of the plinth should not be too high in small rooms, and vice versa. To visually extend the wall and raise the ceiling by eye, thin skirting boards of the same color as the wall coverings can be used.

In spacious rooms, this option will look ridiculous; it is better to choose a wide or medium-sized baseboard that stands out in color. If you want a little severity in the room, add a ceiling plinth in the same color as the floor.

Some practical tips

  1. The required length of the plinth is determined by measuring the perimeter of the entire room minus the width of the doorway. This value is divided by 2.5 (the size of a standard plank) to obtain the number of planks that need to be purchased.
  2. The number of corners, connecting elements and plugs depends on the number of corners, strips and doors in the room. One left and one right end cap are required per door.
  • the smell of the baseboard should not be sharp and unpleasant;
  • the color of the plinth strip must match the color of all additional parts;
  • it is desirable that the batch numbers on the packages with the skirting boards match;
  • plugs, connecting elements, the corners must fit tightly to the planks, without cracks or gaps.

It's better if the baseboard is all necessary elements You will purchase in a large store, so the colors and sizes of the products are more likely to match.

When choosing a plinth, it’s better to measure seven times and spare no expense, but then you can enjoy the result every day.

Are you wondering how to choose the right baseboard for your floor? Are you tired of going shopping and arguing with your other half about how to close this hole between the floor and the wall, where the concrete and underlay for the laminate are peeking out? I understand you perfectly, I recently encountered this myself. And as an altruist, I want to tell you how I made the choice, to dedicate, so to speak, to all the subtleties of the process. And absolutely free of charge, as the wise owl from the cartoon said.

The agony of choice

In the photo - me while choosing a plinth.

As my experience shows, every renovation, no matter how much money you throw into it and no matter how carefully you plan, does not go according to a pre-planned plan. But sooner or later you will still have to install a plinth. Otherwise, your wife will saw you in half, citing the “aesthetic incompleteness of her favorite bedroom”

Therefore, do not underestimate the importance correct selection floor plinth. It is this piece of wood (a plastic thing or a piece of ceramic), according to most, that indicates the completion of the repair.

And they are right. The right choice of skirting board can radically change appearance room, highlight all its advantages, and also enhance the impression of the completed renovation.

Let's start with how to choose the right color for the floor plinth. And we will determine the remaining, less important (from the wife’s point of view) parameters as we go along.

Color

You've probably already read on the Internet or in a renovation magazine that the color of the baseboard should be matched to the floor covering. I saw cute design solutions, when the color of the baseboard was a little lighter or darker, but it did not stand out visually at all, but there is no need to perceive them as dogma.

Many designers (not Patricia Urquiola, of course, but still) advise choosing the color of the baseboard to match the color tone wall decoration. In my opinion, such an innovative solution is completely justified. But if your walls are covered with colorful, cheerful floral wallpaper, then what?

Other “super specialists” suggest choosing skirting boards of the same color as the interior doors. How to choose the color of the baseboard for the floor if your doors are painted with eye-catching paint? Personally, I will say that this option is more or less acceptable, only if wooden doors. And even then, the thickness of the plinth should match the thickness of the door frames. But you didn’t think about this in advance, did you?

I also came across another option for selecting a plinth - this is when it is chosen directly to match the color of the interior details. In my opinion, this is a deeply amateur and extravagant approach, but still has a right to exist. I won't envy you when you decide to change the furniture in your room. What then, tear off the baseboard and rivet it again?

All markers have different tastes and colors, so I won’t talk about color for too long. I can only note that, before choosing a floor plinth by color, I drew the interior of the future room in a special computer program. And do you know what I discovered? White baseboards look best in our family bedroom.

It turned out to be a great option, but I note once again that this solution is not suitable for everyone. Think, dare.

The best thing to do is watch the cartoon “Tom and Jerry”. The entrance to Jerry's hole is often shown there. And you can get a lot of innovative ideas. You will learn exactly how to choose the color of the floor plinth.

All the rest

Color is, of course, good.

But when choosing a suitable option, I would advise you to pay attention to a few more points:

  • the size of the royal chambers where you are making repairs;
  • flooring material on which the owner’s foot steps.

Room area

So, the choice of plinth by color has been made, now you need to decide which floor plinth to choose by size (width). This parameter directly depends on the size of the bedroom (in my case). I will say that the size of the plinth is directly influenced to a greater extent by the height of the ceilings and color design. The length and width of the walls is not such an important parameter.

For big and bright apartments(I am the owner of one of them), I recommend using wide baseboards, which are best fastened to the wall. They should either be completely invisible or contrast with the chosen color scheme for the room.

If the room where you live cannot be called large, and a low-hanging ceiling presses on your scalp, it is better to use thin baseboards. This is how it will be possible to achieve the effect of visually stretching the room in height. Although this will be of little help to basketball players: visually there is a lot of space, and the crown of the head clings to the chandelier. But this has nothing to do with baseboards.

For rooms of medium size, it is better to use, guess what, skirting boards, which can be classified as the “golden mean”. Not in the sense that gold is hidden inside them, but in terms of size: approximately from 4.5 to 7 cm.

Coverage type

As you probably already know (after all, there are exactly as many specialists among us as there are readers of this opus), the choice of material used to make the baseboard directly depends on the type of floor covering.

Solid wood board, parquet or parquet board, high-quality laminate will look good with wooden skirting boards. If you saved money on laminate, then it is better to buy inexpensive veneered wooden skirting boards or MDF products.

In the case where ceramic tiles are used as a floor covering, an excellent solution would be to edit the room with plastic or ceramic skirting boards.

For floors covered with carpet, laminate or linoleum, it is recommended to purchase MDF and PVC skirting boards.

If you are a meticulous person and your head is an analogue of Wikipedia, then especially for you I have collected in brief all significant characteristics of their skirting boards different materials. After reading everything to the end, you will be able to outshine any consultant in a construction supermarket.

Classification and characteristics of types of skirting boards

  1. Wooden plinth.

Such skirting slats have numerous advantages.

The important ones for me personally are:

  • naturalness of the material;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • ease of processing.

The catch is that wood is highly sensitive to moisture, and therefore it is not recommended to use wooden plinths in rooms with high humidity. That is, they are suitable for a family bedchamber, but it is better not to install them in the bathroom and toilet.

If you decide to buy such skirting boards, pay attention to the type of wood from which they are made. Otherwise, buy skirting boards made of bog oak or Siberian larch, and you will guard with a gun so that no one scratches them (remember Jerry the mouse?). After all, the price of such a plinth strip is wow.

If purchasing flooring from solid wood, the parquet boards were made in a private company, I recommend ordering the skirting boards there. This way they will match in color, texture, and quality of finish. And if anything happens, you will need to file claims in the same place.

  1. Veneer plinth. If you have already started renovation, then you have probably heard out of the blue that veneer is also kind of like wood. Why did I separate veneer skirting boards into a separate group?

The bottom line is that what you get here is good looks, but not very good quality.

The base of the plinth is made of pine or spruce (there are many of them), and the surface is decorated (veneered) with more expensive wood species:

  • oak;
  • nut;
  • pear, etc.

It turns out beautifully, but only Jerry knows what’s inside. But he won’t tell you, because with the money you saved during the purchase you will buy him some cheese.

  1. MDF skirting boards.
    Skirting boards of this variety are excellent for use with flooring made from the following materials:
  • laminate;
  • linoleum;
  • carpet

Such skirting boards look especially harmonious when the walls of the room are also decorated with MDF panels.

The baseboard slats themselves are made from pre-compressed wood fibers with special additives and additives. Of the advantages of this type skirting boards, I want to highlight their strength and the fact that they absolutely do not fade when exposed to direct sunlight and tolerate moisture well.

  1. Plastic skirting board. I would like to note right away that PVC is used in the manufacture of such skirting boards, so if you are for a healthy lifestyle, be, as they say, on your guard.

These skirting boards are very common and are often used for renovations.

In principle, they have many advantages:

  • low price;
  • practicality
  • diversity various forms, color solutions;
  • moisture resistance;
  • non-susceptibility to decay processes;
  • increased anti-corrosion properties.

Well, the most important thing is that when making PVC skirting boards, not a single tree is harmed. I haven't checked it myself, but that's what they say.

  1. Ceramic baseboard. When I was renovating the bathroom and toilet several years ago, no one knew about any ceramic baseboards. The edging near the ceramic floor covering was made from the same, cut into pieces required sizes. Then there were craftsmen who could make the cut edge smooth and aesthetically pleasing.

Modern tilers (not all, I’ll say right away) have golden hands, of course, but they are inserted at the wrong end and in the wrong place. Specially for them, they came up with ceramic skirting boards that come complete with tiles. Of course, for an additional fee, and not like crackers for beer - free.

I don't see any downsides here. The plinth fits perfectly to the dimensions of the ceramic tiles, and, naturally, exactly matches its pattern. If desired, you can purchase a plinth of a different color to go with the set of ceramic tiles. And make such a cheerful contrast that will delight you in the bathroom.

The interesting thing about this plinth is that it has a concave hemispherical shape, which, in my opinion, looks so beautiful and modern that I would definitely use it. Probably, my wife will soon force me to renovate the bathroom, so I won’t show her this essay about baseboards. Or should I remove this piece altogether?

In general, I'm tired of sitting at the computer. We need to go attach the purchased skirting boards.

I haven’t talked about all the types of floor skirting boards that can be easily purchased in a store today. Yes, that was the purpose of my story. The main thing is that you can choose the right skirting board for yourself and not be disappointed in such a purchase.

Yes, I almost forgot, this story is not an instruction that must be strictly followed, but simply personal experience, confirmed by many years of practice.

Attach the baseboards to “liquid nails” with your own hands.
Then there is no way to remove them (what if your wife or Jerry doesn’t like your choice).

If you are a risky guy, buy special mounting clips. Using hooks and staples, you can easily dismantle the baseboards and proceed to read this article again. And who doesn’t like to read, watch the video in this article.

If you want to express gratitude, add a clarification or objection, or ask the author something - add a comment or say thank you!

We can already hear final chords renovation: walls finished, flooring laid. It's time to draw a conclusion. Everything is fine at first glance, but the feeling of incompleteness definitely lingers. Perhaps it's the annoying gaps left near the walls. Well, of course, these beautiful floors need an appropriate frame, which will not only hide small defects, but also bring completeness and comfort to the environment.

You already guessed that you need to install a floor plinth. But which variety should you choose for a particular gender, since there are several of them? We will help you do right choice.

It is difficult to underestimate the importance of skirting boards for the floor, so skillfully does it separate the floor and walls. This, one might say, is a simple but expressive interior detail. But the practical side of the floor plinth should also be noted - thanks to it, you can, in particular, conveniently hide various cables running around the room.

Wide floor skirting boards: photo wooden plinth for interior flooring

On the market today finishing materials Various models of floor fillets are presented. The dull-shaped floor plinths, which in cross-section represent an ordinary right triangle. Today everything has changed - materials, sizes, and shapes. Let's look at the most common types of floor skirting boards, their characteristics, advantages and disadvantages.

Plastic floor plinth

PVC skirting boards are the most popular today. Plastic floor plinth has exceptionally high consumer qualities and, first of all, amazing ease of installation and versatility.

Wide plastic floor skirting boards: a combination of aesthetics and functionality

The plastic used in the production of these products, thanks to the latest technologies durable enough. It is resistant to mechanical stress, but at the same time elastic. A plastic floor plinth is in no way inferior to its wooden counterpart, and in some characteristics even surpasses it. Plastic panels are moisture resistant, extremely easy to maintain, and do not require significant financial investments or time. One cannot fail to mention its biological stability - it does not rot, does not corrode, and does not create an environment favorable for the life of bacteria.

Original version of the heating system: heated baseboard

Plastic floor skirting boards are easy to cut and shape, so they are simply irreplaceable when framing round or multi-profile walls.

Advice: if you want to give a PVC product some shape, just heat it with a hairdryer or hot water up to approximately 70°C.

Plastic moldings for floor plinths

All kinds of plastic elements for edging corners, external and internal, help to avoid inaccuracies when filing corners when joining. On their reverse side there are special clip-on grips: the corners are placed on the edge of the bar and snapped into place.

The use of corners when connecting plastic fillets significantly improves the aesthetics of the finish

Plastic floor plinth: dimensions, shape and color scheme

The height of the plastic floor profile varies between 5 cm and 8–10 cm. The most popular products are 60 mm high; they cover approximately 22 mm along the floor, providing a large gap. Standard length profile 2.5 m, although there are samples up to 5.05 m.

Soft PVC roll profile

Plastic floor skirting boards are also supplied in the form of rolls 25–50 m long. They are a flexible tape that is laid using almost seamless technology along the entire perimeter. True, it is almost devoid of decorative properties, so its main purpose is to finish the joints of floors and walls in offices and administrative premises.

How to use flexible plinth floor

PVC profiles have a wide color scheme both plain and textured - “wood”, “metal” and more. For example, you can choose the color and texture of the panel to match any natural wood: oak, mahogany, wenge, etc. This gives huge design possibilities to decorate the room.

Spectacular white high plinth for the floor adds special elegance to the interior

The shape of the edging has also become more elegant: it can be flat or convex, with a “leg” or protrusion.

Increasingly in the design of modern large premises you can find a wide floor plinth made of plastic. In combination with high ceilings it gives majesty to the structure.

Plastic panels are used with almost any coating: laminate, porcelain stoneware, ceramic tiles, carpet, linoleum, self-leveling and wood floors.

Advice: however, when finishing artistic parquet floors or solid board, you should first think about whether the simpler look of PVC skirting boards will be dissonant with their luxurious look.

Plastic panels, despite their flexibility, are still inferior to wooden ones. The reason is the hollow structure of polyvinyl chloride, so it is better to handle the installed plastic floor profile more carefully.

Floor plinth with cable channel

Today, wide skirting boards for floors with cable ducts are in great demand. What are their advantages?

Floor plinth with cable channel

  • Inside the product you can hide up to ten cables laid along the walls;
  • they allow you to produce without unwanted difficulties electrical wiring, keeping the appearance of the room unchanged;
  • presence of a removable panel on outside profile allows you to complete an existing cable system
On a note: A similar design, although much less common, is still found in wooden versions.

The undoubted advantage of these products is the soft rubber edge, which allows you to effectively hide uneven walls and floors.

When choosing the dimensions of products with a cable channel, proceed from the number of wires that are supposed to be routed through it. On the one hand, I would like to have a compact model, but on the other hand, wouldn’t it be better to install a floor plinth of greater thickness in order to be able to lay another cable if necessary.

Skirting board with cable duct made of plastic: sizes are selected depending on the number of wires

Polyurethane floor plinth

Wide profiles made of foamed plastic - polyurethane are no less in demand. This material has a lot positive characteristics. For example, we can note its strength and environmental friendliness, lightness and moisture resistance.

A high polyurethane plinth divides the wall horizontally, visually expanding the space

Polyurethane floor plinths are available in two versions:

  • already painted and ready for installation;
  • white, ready for painting.

Veneered floor plinth

This type of floor plinth is made from inexpensive glued raw materials - pine or spruce. A thin layer of veneer is attached on top of the base. valuable species wood, including the most exotic.

Veneered floor profile consists of several layers glued together

During the production process, a special UV-curing and bioprotection varnish is applied to the panels in several layers to protect the product from fungus and microorganisms. The veneered profile is tinted in the required color. This type of plinth is actually made from natural raw materials, is environmentally friendly and is much more affordable than a wooden one.

Important: but we must take into account that conifers are quite sensitive to fluctuations in temperature and humidity conditions, and this cannot be ignored. For example, veneered profiles cannot be installed on a “warm floor”.

MDF floor plinth

One of best combinations skirting boards with floorboards, laminate and linoleum are made from MDF - natural cellulose, which is pressed into a specific profile shape and covered with a fixing film with water-repellent properties. MDF skirting boards imitate very well wooden crafts, specifications theirs is significantly lower.

MDF planks are afraid of permanent excess humidity, and, having absorbed moisture, can become deformed. Under the influence of brute mechanical force, say a sharp blow, the product may crack or break. However, the material is UV resistant and does not fade and is easy to clean.

MDF skirting boards are more often used for laminate floors

These skirting boards are also supported by their beautiful appearance, reminiscent of wood, and their very low price. But they are not particularly durable. So, having saved on repairs once, after some time the baseboards will have to be replaced.

MDF cable channel looks more attractive, but is more difficult to install

But the sizes of MDF floor skirting boards are very different, and this makes the choice much easier.

Metal baseboard for floor

These skirting boards are usually made from of stainless steel, brass or aluminum. These materials have increased strength and are highly resistant to moisture, so rooms such as the bathroom, kitchen or hallway are often chosen for their installation.

Wide aluminum floor plinth

Metal floor skirting boards are also in demand in commercial buildings with heavy traffic. They are mounted on a base of commercial linoleum, tiles, porcelain stoneware and self-leveling floors.

Metal profiles differ:

  • great strength;
  • long service life;
  • high resistance to mechanical loads, including impacts;
  • are not afraid of moisture and extremely high and low temperatures;
  • easy to install;
  • There are models with a cable channel with the ability to build in sockets.

Metal floor frame

The main disadvantage of this type of skirting boards is the high price and limited choice of textures and colors.

Traditional wooden baseboard for flooring

The classic version, a wooden floor plinth, has not lost its relevance today, with the only difference being that it has turned from a household floor frame into an elite one. To characterize a modern, high-quality wood product, you will have to use epithets such as luxurious or sophisticated.

Oak plinth: dovetail profile

The following models of wooden skirting boards are especially popular:

  • profile with “sole” – has a height of up to 60 mm, distinctive feature– relatively narrow lower part, up to 25 mm. The smoothed topography of the front side of the product makes it easier to remove dust;
  • europlinth - its dimensions are 10-16 mm, allowing you to install furniture quite tightly to the wall. There are other, non-standard models of products, for example, up to 80 mm high with a figured recess on the front part or up to 30 cm, made of beech or oak.

The perfection of a wooden plinth: wide fillets in a dark color

Not everyone knows which skirting boards are best to use for the floor, but they are the main element in completing the renovation.

After all, the choice of plinth and its width depends on this.

Plastic skirting boards

Nowadays, skirting boards made of plastic are the most popular. Since it is moisture resistant, it can withstand any temperature changes and is not susceptible to rotting. Such skirting boards are produced on average two and a half meters long, but they can be embossed or not; they have a flexible shape, with the help of which they can be pressed tightly against the wall and hide all the irregularities. There are plastic skirting boards different designs and colors, they are made to imitate wood or natural stone.

Skirting boards are also sold with special cable channels in which wires can be hidden. Most often, such products are used for such floor coverings like linoleum, carpet or laminate. Installation of such a plinth is best done using liquid nails; it is much easier and faster. They are also screwed with self-tapping screws and hidden under the cable channel strip. In this way, you can later remove the plinth and use it again.

Both our manufacturers and foreign manufacturers produce such skirting boards. The price of such a plinth is not high and reaches a maximum of one hundred and fifty rubles for two and a half meters. And if your floor is covered with laminate, then an MDF baseboard will look best on it. It is considered environmentally friendly and not high in price. It will also help you hide all the flaws and unevenness on the walls and floor. Such skirting boards are produced different colors and with imitation of natural wood and stone. It will not be difficult to select it for the laminate and it is better to do this immediately with the purchase of the coating. They are also installed at a distance of 40 cm on special hooks, onto which the plinth is then attached.

Wooden plinth

These skirting boards are the most natural and are made from natural wood species. Wooden plinth is environmentally friendly, it is strong and durable. However, the disadvantage of such a plinth is that it is intolerant of temperature changes and that it is not moisture resistant. These skirting boards are made from different breeds trees. Most often, its top coating is varnish, but it can be made without it. These skirting boards are best suited for floor coverings such as parquet or laminate of the best quality.

It is best to order it together with floor covering. This way you will accurately guess the color and not miss. Installation of such a plinth is done using liquid nails or carnations with a very small head. Its price is high and reaches four hundred rubles for one product. Its shape also varies, as does the width of the baseboard itself. It’s better to choose this way: the higher your walls, the wider the baseboard can be. It is better not to use it in bathrooms, as it will lose its shape and become deformed. But in general it’s a matter of taste; which skirting board you choose depends only on you.

Today there is a huge selection various colors s solutions for floor moldings. In addition, a wide variety of moldings in width and decor will also have a beneficial effect on the choice of element. In order to understand how to choose a plinth, you need to follow some general rules by choice of color and size.

How to choose the color of the baseboard?

In order to understand how to choose the right skirting board color, first of all it should be noted that similar or monochrome shades of flooring are the most good option solving the problem, since in this case the harmony of the flooring and baguette is ensured.
