You will need:

  • thick cardboard (from which boxes are made)
  • sheet of paper for the template
  • sheets of foamiran 2 colors
  • stationery glue
  • glue gun
  • scissors
  • pencil
  • battery operated garland

How to make a night light:

1. Print and cut out a template for a future night light from paper. It can be the silhouette of a unicorn or another favorite animal of a child (you can also make nightlights in the form of a star, a cube and other figures). Mark on the template the places where the light bulbs will be. Try to distribute them evenly.

2. Trace the template onto cardboard and cut out the silhouette.

3. Then circle the template on a sheet of foamiran. Using glue, connect the silhouettes of cardboard and foamiran. You will get one wall of the future night light.

4. According to the template, mark the places for light bulbs on it. And from the foamiran side, make holes with scissors with sharp ends, as if screwing them in. So the holes will turn out neat.

5. Cut out a strip of cardboard 5 cm wide, it will become the sides. gently pressing with your fingers and moving along the entire length, form "creases". Then turn the strip over and repeat your steps. This will make the cardboard flexible.

6. Apply hot glue along the edge of the finished side of the lamp from the cardboard side and carefully glue the softened cardboard strip, forming a side wall along the contour. You will get a figured "box" without a lid.

7. Glue a 7 cm wide strip of foamiran of a different color over the cardboard strip to cover the gluing points. On the outside, leave a "side" so that the light does not scatter too much on the sides.

8. Insert the bulbs into the holes left. Glue the battery pack.

9. Cut out the second side of the foamiran according to the template and glue it, leaving a window in place of the battery block.

10. The night light is ready. It remains to wait for the evening and see with your child what a beautiful lamp you have!

If you have any questions, watch the video tutorial:

A night light is not just a source of illumination, but also an important element of decor. During the day, it can be almost invisible, but at night, when all other lighting fixtures go out, it is the night light that comes to the fore. And if this is not just a light bulb under the ceiling, but something more inventive, then the night room takes on a special solemn atmosphere. With a little effort, you can make a spectacular and stylish night light with your own hands. Its shape and features will be limited only by the imagination of the creator.

Why is it needed

To shine at night is the most obvious answer to this question. But far from the only one! A good night light performs a number of useful functions:

  • creates a pleasant and unusual atmosphere before going to bed;
  • saves electricity - a light bulb in a night lamp consumes many times less electricity than a chandelier;
  • decorates the interior of the room;
  • eliminates the need to turn on the main light and wake up the household if you need to get up in the middle of the night;
  • allows you to install a light bulb of any color and even create curly lighting.

In addition, a night light in the child's bedroom is a reliable tool to combat the fear of the dark. If the ceiling is decorated with patterns and drawings, then the light from such a night lamp will have a beneficial effect on the child's imagination. Any psychologist will confirm that the visual effects observed by the baby are an important and useful element.

Ideas

There are many good ideas for homemade nightlights. They differ in the degree of complexity of manufacture, but most of them can be handled by anyone.

Wall

You can cut out the name of the person in whose room the night light will be placed

There are countless options for making a wall lamp. It can have any shape, consist of any materials. Here is one of the simple and at the same time spectacular looking options. To create it, you will need some boards, an acrylic sheet and an LED strip of any color:

  1. Take 2 boards of the same size. The thickness should be small - so it will be easier to work with them. Treat the material with sandpaper or in any other way to give a presentable look.
  2. Cut out a rectangle of acrylic the same size as the planks.
  3. Take one of the boards and draw a pattern or an inscription on it.
  4. Cut out the pattern or inscription so that it becomes transparent. If there is no CNC machine at hand, this can be done with an ordinary drill or jigsaw. Light from the night lamp will pass through these holes.
  5. Make 4 corner bolt holes in each of the boards and in the acrylic sheet. In an empty plank, also create a hole for the cord from the LED strip.
  6. Cut a groove on the acrylic sheet a little wider than the LED strip. The strip should be at the bottom of the workpiece and go along. Place the tape in the groove.
  7. Assemble the night light with the bolts.

The lighting device can be screwed to the wall with the same bolts with which it is assembled, or it can be glued or carefully hung on a nail.

Plexiglas

Plexiglas is made from acrylic resin and is commonly known as plexiglass, acryplast, acrylight.

Organic glass and acrylic are practically the same thing. Therefore, the key principle for making a Plexiglas night light is the same as in the previous version. The only difference is that plexiglass can not be hung on the wall, but, for example, put on a table or even on the floor in the corner of the room.

One of the simple options for creating such a night light:

  1. Make 3 rectangular plexiglass blanks. The size can be arbitrary, but each blank should be slightly longer than the previous one.
  2. Draw on paper any pattern you like. Place the paper under the blanks and circle the pattern on the glass with a scalpel or other tool. It is best if there is a protective film on the plexiglass. Take it off when you're done.
  3. Cut out a figure of the desired shape from a thick wooden board - it will be a stand. Make another shape of the same shape.
  4. In one of the figures, make cuts for acrylic blanks (you can use a conventional drill), and in the other, make a recess for the LED strip.
  5. Place the tape in the recess, glue the wooden figures. Then insert the plexiglass blanks into the slots. A spectacular night light is ready!

In order for the night light to shine well, the recess for the LED strip must “cover” all 3 slots.

Paper

Do-it-yourself paper night light is one of the less expensive ways to make it

Paper is a very malleable and flexible material. Anything can be made from it. Here is just one of the many examples of paper nightlights:

  1. Take a sheet of thick multi-colored paper, draw any image or pattern on it.
  2. Poke out this image along the contour with an awl. You can also make solid cuts with a blade.
  3. Roll a sheet of paper into a tube so that the outline of the image is inside. Glue the resulting cylinder.
  4. Place a small flashlight or a candle covered with an upturned glass on the table. Hide the light source under the paper cylinder.

Night light-garland

There are many options for such nightlights, because. you can choose a garland of any color and shape

A garland night light is one of the simplest ideas. Girls often make such nightlights at school labor lessons. To make a lamp, do the following:

  1. Take a glass container. It can be a jar, vase or bottle of any shape.
  2. Place a garland inside the container. It is better to use LED as it does not heat up and is therefore safe for glass.
  3. Pass the cord from the garland through the hole in the container and place the resulting night light with the hole down. To make it stand better, you can cut a small notch in the edge of the hole for the cord.

Use a container with thick frosted glass. Then the wires of the garland will not be visible - only bright multi-colored light bulbs.

With the effect of the starry sky

You can try to make the sky realistic by repeating the contours of real constellations, or you can depict schematic constellations that are not at all like real ones.

This is one of the most popular ideas of all time. The romantic effect of lighting does not leave anyone indifferent, and the area for experiments during creation is simply huge! In order to make such a lighting device, you need:

  • an ordinary glass jar (or an unusual one if you want a more beautiful ceiling) with a lid;
  • thick foil (a simple kitchen one will do);
  • a small flashlight (to fit in a jar);
  • marker or marker;
  • awl and scissors;
  • hard surface - plank, tray or the like.

How to make such a nightlight:

  1. Draw stars on the foil with a marker.
  2. Lay the foil on a hard surface and pierce the stars with an awl. The resulting holes can, if desired, be carefully finished with scissors, giving them a pentagonal shape.
  3. Cut a sheet of foil so that its height is equal to the height of the jar. Then roll it into a tube and place it inside the jar, smoothing it along the walls. You should get a glass container, tightly lined with foil from the inside.
  4. Insert the included flashlight into the jar and turn the structure upside down.

To give the night light a "heavenly" color, you can use a decorative jar from a home improvement store, and for lighting - a garland or light bulb with dark blue glass.

With infinity effect

Prepare materials - the main difficulty in creating such a night light

To make an impressive night light you will need:

  • acrylic mirror (regular or double-sided - it doesn't matter);
  • translucent glass;
  • aluminum strip;
  • LED Strip Light;
  • any piece of wood.

The process of making a night light is quite simple:

  1. Make grooves in the bar into which you can insert a mirror and glass. It is easy to make cuts of the required width with a jigsaw or a conventional drill, choosing a drill to fit.
  2. Fold the aluminum strip into a rectangle and fasten it with bolts to the bar between the cuts, as shown in the photo.
  3. Wrap the aluminum with LED strip. You can attach it with glue or wire.
  4. Insert the mirror and glass into the slots. The nightlight is ready! Place it on the table with the glass facing forward.

The moon-night light will become an original decor element of any room

To make a real glowing moon for your bedroom, you need the following materials:

  • round balloon;
  • a roll of paper towels;
  • glue (regular PVA is best);
  • sponge with large pores;
  • paint (preferably acrylic).

Match the paint to the color of the moon (pale yellow or ivory) for maximum effect. You can also mix white paint with ocher - you get the desired shade.

Such a night light is made quite simply, although it requires a lot of free time:

  1. Outline the knot of the balloon with a marker. You should get a circle with a diameter of about 6-7 cm. This area does not need to be used in the future, it will be removed.
  2. Dip a round balloon into a container of glue. If there is not enough glue, the ball can be painted with a brush.
  3. Cover the ball with paper towels. Wait until the glue hardens. Then apply another layer with a brush and repeat the procedure. There must be at least 3 layers of towels for the ball to come out hard and dense.
  4. After complete drying, paint the ball with acrylic paint.
  5. Take a large-pore sponge, dip it in the same paint and carefully “print” the ball from all sides. For realism, you can "copy" the image of the real moon. It is this stage that is important for creating the lunar surface with craters and seas.
  6. Wait for the ball to dry. Then cut a hole along the outline made with a marker and remove the balloon with tweezers.
  7. Place a bulb in a cartridge inside, a white garland, or use the moon as a lampshade for a floor lamp.

Cloud

A night light in the form of a cloud is one of the simplest and most cost-effective options for a homemade night light.

To make a night light in the form of a thundercloud, you will need a round or oval lampshade, cotton wool, an LED lamp (or several multi-colored light bulbs) and glue. It is also necessary to prepare a dense thread to hang the product from the ceiling. The lampshade can be replaced with a wire frame, giving it a round or oval shape. Such a frame will need to be pasted over with a thin translucent fabric.

The process of making a night light is as follows:

  1. Make a hole in the lampshade and insert a light bulb into it. Pass a thick thread through it. If the light bulb you are using is powered by the mains, the lamp can be hung on a cable.
  2. Cover the lampshade with cotton. You need very little glue - a small drop for each piece of cotton wool. Try to shape the cloud using both small and large pieces of cotton.
  3. The hole in the lampshade can also be sealed with cotton so that it is not visible.
  4. Hang the resulting lamp from the ceiling. During the day, it will look like an ordinary summer cloud, and at night it will “rage a thunderstorm”.

Rose

For the manufacture of such a night light, you can choose any color of paper, combined with the interior.

It is quite difficult to make a beautiful glowing rose, but the result justifies the efforts and the time spent. To make this night light, you need cardboard, corrugated paper, acrylic paint (pink, burgundy or yellow - depending on the chosen color of the rose), glue stick, and wire.

And here is the manufacturing process itself:

  1. Cut out a rose petal template from cardboard. It is important to give it realism, to make it look like a real petal - so the lamp will look more beautiful.
  2. Cut out petals from crepe paper according to the shape of the template.
  3. Round off the ends of the petals with scissors to make it look like the one in the photo. Applying scissors to the edges of the petals, iron the paper, and after a few such strokes, it will itself acquire roundness.
  4. Glue the petals in the shape of a rosebud, place the LED inside to match the color of the paper. You can, however, experiment with different shades.
  5. You can also make a stem, as in the photo, and glue a green LED to each leaf. But a rose without a stem will look good as a table lamp.

Such a night light can be either small, placed on a table, or occupy a distance from floor to ceiling.

Wooden nightlights are very popular because wood is much easier to work with than glass or metal. From it you can create the most bizarre shapes. And the varnished wood looks amazing and successfully complements any interior.

Materials that may be needed to make a wooden night lamp:

  • wooden boards, bars or logs (depending on the chosen lamp model);
  • paint or varnish;
  • a light bulb or LED strip (it is preferable to use the tape, as it does not heat up and is therefore safe for wood);
  • glue, nails or bolts (depending on the chosen method of fastening);
  • sandpaper.

Tools needed to make a night light:

  • small saw or jigsaw;
  • drill;
  • brush for applying glue;
  • screwdriver;
  • woodworking machine (needed when making complex models of lamps).

Step-by-step instruction

The process of creating all wooden night lamps is quite similar. Consider it on one very beautiful example:

  1. Take a flat log about 0.5 m long and about 15 cm in diameter. The exact dimensions do not play a role - the main thing is that it should not be too large.
  2. Saw the log into washers, make 2 of them somewhat thicker than the rest - they will be located above and below.
  3. Drill a hole in the very center of each of the washers. On two thick washers, the holes should be blind, and on all the others - through. If you have a drilling machine, you can make wide openings, no - narrower ones, slightly expanded with a chisel or jigsaw.
  4. Sand the holes with sandpaper to get rid of splinters. Then grease them from the inside with glue: this will allow the future night light to keep its shape and not “cry out”.
  5. Coat the wooden washers with varnish, let dry well.
  6. Thread the washers evenly onto the rail or metal rod across the width of the hole. The rod can be pre-wrapped with LED strip, or you can install individual LEDs after the structure is assembled.
  7. Try to distribute the lighting so that each gap between the pucks glows evenly.

LED

If you are making a night light for a child's room, you can use your favorite cartoon or book character.

LED night light is the best option for handmade. After all, diode tapes and light bulbs never heat up even during continuous operation, and therefore they are safe for wood, paper and all other materials.

Necessary materials and tools

In the manufacture of LED night lights, you most often need:

  • diode lighting element (diode tape or light bulbs);
  • base for a night light (lampshade, frame made of wire or improvised means, wooden stand, etc.);
  • glue;
  • scissors, awl or other tools.

Step-by-step instruction

The model of the LED night light can be absolutely any - what the author's imagination is enough for. Let's look at the process of making one of the simple lamps that require very little time and effort:

  1. Take a sheet of plywood and draw an image of a cat on it. Simply print and circle the template. You can draw any other animal or anything at all - it depends only on your imagination.
  2. Carefully cut out the image with a jigsaw.
  3. If the appearance of plywood does not suit you, varnish it or paste over it with the same wallpaper that is used in the room. Then the silhouette of the cat will merge with the wall, which will add showiness to the night light.
  4. Glue the LED strip to the back of the figure. Place it closer to the center - then the light will be soft and uniform.
  5. The night light should not fit snugly against the wall. It should be hung on any fasteners that you have. To do this, glue a small wooden block to the back of the plywood figure, and fix this block on the fasteners.

From improvised means

In order to make a night light with your own hands, just dig in your pantry or closet

To make a nice lamp, it is not at all necessary to go to the store for materials or look for suitable wooden bars in the country. There are many ways to make nightlights from any materials at hand.

What can be useful?

To create you will need:

  • any materials that you found at home (in our case, a bottle of wine);
  • old New Year's garland;
  • drill;
  • clay (if it is not - sand or earth from a flowerpot);
  • multi-colored threads;
  • glue.

Step-by-step instruction

To make such a nightlight is very simple:

  1. Remove the label from the bottle. To remove it easily and without residue, place the bottle in a container of warm water for a few minutes. After that, the paper will fall behind itself.
  2. Drill a hole in the bottom of the bottle, at a distance of 1-2 cm from the bottom. To prevent the glass from overheating and bursting, stick a little wet clay, sand or earth on the desired area of the bottle. Drill little by little, pouring water into the hole from time to time.
  3. When the hole is ready, wash the bottle and wait until it is completely dry.
  4. Push the New Year's garland inside the container, and pass the cord to connect to the outlet through the drilled hole. Here you have to tinker, given the narrow neck of the bottle, so please be patient.
  5. If you want to decorate the bottle with something, wrap it with multi-colored threads dipped in glue. Quantity and density do not matter - you can make a small pattern, or you can cover the entire bottle. The main thing is to leave holes through which light will come out. The nightlight is ready!

Making a handmade night light is a fun and easy process. It is not at all necessary to be able to handle wood or buy any special materials to make a beautiful and stylish night light. Design ideas are limited only by the imagination of the author.

The key goal of creating a night light with your own hands is by no means saving. Lighting devices are not that expensive, and anyone can afford to buy a model to their liking. The main charm of handmade is to feel like a real creator and create a very real reminder of the creative process. When looking at a “own-made” night light, a person will definitely experience more pleasant emotions than in the case of a night light from a store.

A night light is a device that is used not only for illumination at night, but also as a decorative element. It helps to create an atmosphere of coziness and comfort in the room. You can find different nightlights in lighting stores, but you can also make them yourself. An LED night light can be made from various improvised materials - music discs, paper, glass, fabric. The most important thing is to select and create an electronic circuit.

Advantages of LED night light

Decorative Led-lamp Luna

Making a night light from LEDs is quite simple. The scheme does not cause difficulties even for inexperienced people. The advantages of the LED light source include:

  • low power consumption;
  • long service life;
  • availability;
  • a variety of application schemes;
  • light quality;
  • good illumination;
  • lack of heating;
  • safety.

A homemade LED night light can be used for backlighting, allowing you to navigate in the dark. The device can be installed in any convenient place.

Types of fixtures

Autonomous LED luminaires

All LED night lights can be divided into two groups according to the way they are powered. These include:

  • Autonomous. Work from the accumulator or a battery.
  • Stationary. Plug into an outlet.

Autonomous products can be moved and placed in any convenient place. The disadvantages include waste on batteries, which need to be changed periodically. The model that receives electricity from a wall outlet can only be installed near a power point. There is no need to buy consumables for such a lamp.

Night lights with motion sensor

Wood lamp

Devices can be equipped with various sensors that make it easier to use. They do not need to be turned on, they are activated independently. It is not recommended to put such nightlights in the room, as they can detect any arbitrary movement and turn on. Usually they are installed in pantries, garages, hallways. The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted so that there are no false positives on pets. The range is 3-5 meters.

Wooden night light

This type of nightlight is completely safe. The wood is processed in such a way that there is no release of harmful substances when heated. Wooden LED night lights are even placed in the nursery, as they are durable, environmentally friendly and difficult to break.

Built-in models can be placed in interior items or furniture. Used for decoration. The disadvantages include the fact that over time, the backlight in one place can get bored, and it is difficult to remove the built-in light source.

Necessary materials

LED Matrix

To create a night light, you need to purchase LEDs or a matrix of diodes. The quantity is chosen according to personal preference. It is better to buy bright multi-colored LEDs. The current of each component must not exceed 20 mA.

You will also need to buy resistors. To create a circuit with a serial connection, you need 1 current-limiting resistor. If the circuit is series, all diodes must have the same value. When wiring a parallel connection, a different resistor is selected for each LED.

You will also need a semiconductor diode and a plug to connect to the network. An old disk, a bottle and other objects made of different materials can act as a case. The case can be assembled by yourself.

From the tools you need a plastic plate, screwdrivers, a knife, a heat shrink tube, a soldering iron, pliers.

The simplest circuit

Night lamp scheme

When creating a do-it-yourself LED night light, you will need a powerful 1 W white LED. The circuit is transformerless, stable and does not overheat. To ensure normal operation, you need to select a capacitor for 250-630 with a capacity of 1 uF. The LED is soldered through a current limiting resistor. A diode bridge is assembled from 4 rectifier diodes. The recommended current for each component is 1A, reverse voltage is at least 1000V. An example of such diodes is 1N4007.

The whole circuit is attached to the case with hot glue.

Assembly algorithm

LED night light - fan

First of all, you need to solder a circuit of LEDs, resistors and other components. After soldering, the contact points must be insulated with heat shrink.

Next, the body of the future lamp is assembled. There should be a diagram inside. The body can be made from any improvised materials. For example, transparent plastic elements from CD boxes are suitable. They are glued together with strong glue, and a disk is placed on the bottom so that the light is reflected from it. The entire structure must be degreased with alcohol. Optionally, you can glue the legs to the assembled lamp.

For the bedroom, a lamp on a fan is perfect. You need to buy a large fan and attach a soldered circuit to it.

Near the bed, you can place a do-it-yourself LED night light in the form of a rug. To make it, you don’t even need to solder - just buy a matrix of LEDs and weave it into the carpet.

Night light starry sky"

Night light starry sky"

Such a night light imitates the night sky with constellations. For manufacturing, you will need a glass jar with a lid, foil, an awl, scissors, an LED flashlight and a tray.

On the foil, you need to draw a sky with stars in any order that the master wants. The sheet must be laid on a flat surface and with an awl, make holes for the stars. The foil is cut to fit the height of the can. The paper is rolled up into a tube and placed in a jar. A flashlight is placed at the bottom of the jar. When it is turned on, a glow from the night light can be observed on the walls and ceiling.

Similarly, you can make a night light with your own hands from LEDs and a tin can. It needs to be painted, all stickers removed and holes made. A candle, lantern or garland is placed inside.

Night light in the form of the moon

You will need an LED strip and 2 transistors. They will regulate the device and turn the board on/off.

To make a plywood night light with moon-shaped LEDs, you will need a sheet of plywood that is cut out in the form of a circle. A printed image of the moon must be glued on top. Then you need to drill 2 holes for fastening and pulling wires. The base of the lamp is glued to the plywood. After drying, the LED strip is glued around the perimeter.

Night light from an electric plug or fumigator

Night light from LED strip and power supply

You will need LEDs, 2 resistors, 2 capacitors, a zener diode, a heat shrink tube.

The grounding pins are removed from the plug. You also need to remove the clamp and grind off the rim on the LED with a needle file.

Similarly, a night light is made from a fumigator. It must be disassembled, the heating element removed and the LED replaced. Voltage passes through the capacitor. A rectifier bridge is placed at the output, which smooths out ripples and equalizes the voltage.

You can put on a cover on the plug, which is made independently or purchased in a store.

How to choose a purchased night light

Night lamp for nursery

If it is not possible to make a lamp for the house yourself, you can buy it in the store. The range of products offered is wide, but you need to be able to understand the characteristics.

You should not take too cheap models. They are made from poor quality materials and can be unsafe. Also, do not take too bright devices with neon colors. They are usually made from hazardous materials.

For a children's room, a lamp in the form of a toy, a sun, a star, a fairy-tale character and another original shape is suitable. It is better to take a device made of high-quality plastic and wood. A durable night light made of plexiglass and LEDs is also suitable.

You need to decide in advance where the lamp will stand. It should fit into the interior and complement it. It is desirable that its design be similar to the style of the rest of the lighting fixtures in the room.

The color is better to take a white night light. Eyes will not get tired of it, and it will successfully fit into any interior of the room. It can be installed both in the nursery and in the bathroom.

If you still don’t have a lamp made of natural wood at home, it’s time to make it yourself. Wooden lamps and nightlights have flooded the market in the past few years and have long gained popularity along with metal and plastic products.
The use of wood in the manufacture of lighting fixtures has been severely limited by the widely used incandescent lamps. They actively radiated heat, strongly heated the tree and could cause a fire. However, the situation changed dramatically after manufacturers were finally able to offer their consumers a new generation of lamps - LED. This is what marked the beginning of the production of wooden lighting fixtures.

In order to make a night light out of wood with your own hands, you will need:

Materials:
- a wooden block of square section, better planed and calibrated (the author uses a valuable type of wood);
- acrylic rod with a diameter of about 10 mm;
- epoxy adhesive;
- oil for wood processing;
- LED Strip Light;
- control unit and remote control;
- ready-made legs for a night light, for example, silicone;
- a pair of beech dowels.

Tools:
- circular or miter saw;
- thicknessing machine;
- grinder;
- drill;
- rubber mallet;
- a pair of carpentry clamps;
- square, ruler;
- pencil.

Manufacturing process
Step One: Choosing Materials
The author uses valuable wood species in his work, however, even a pine block is suitable for creating a lamp, although working with pine will not be so pleasant.

However, the degree of processing of the material is of greater importance. If you do not have special woodworking skills, use a planed block calibrated on a thicknessing machine. The same applies to the situation when you do not have at your disposal suitable electrical equipment for self-processing lumber.

In any other case, use a floorboard or softwood board 40 - 50 mm thick. Dissolve the board into square bars and calibrate on a thicknessing machine. Grinding will take place already at the stage of work with sawn blanks of the night lamp body.

Step Two: Making Wooden Cubes and Acrylic Parts
The author duly prepared the bar before work. After that, he sawed wooden cubes using a circular saw. The resulting blanks should be folded together and thus check the accuracy of the cut. If the size of the cubes differs by 1-2 mm, assemble the layers of the lamp so that the length and width of all sides are equal.

To connect the cubes, the author uses an acrylic rod. This is a light, cheap and affordable material that can be easily purchased on the Internet. Depending on the size of the cubes, you will need a rod with a diameter of 8 - 10 mm.

Cut the pieces of the rod to the desired length in any way convenient for you. The author used a circular for this. Sand the ends of the blanks by hand.

Step three: assembling the lamp body
Mark on the cubes the sides where the connecting holes will be located. To mark the drilling site, draw two diagonal lines and mark a point at their intersection. Drill holes according to the diameter of the acrylic rod.

Assemble each layer of the hull in turn. The top layer has 9 elements, while the middle and bottom layers have eight. Connect from each other. Use epoxy to install the rods.

Sand each side of the night light with a grinder. Thus, you can correct errors when sawing cubes.

Step Four: Making and Installing the Lighting Element
In the two lower rows of the case, one central element is missing. Thus, there is formed a cavity for the lighting element. The author made it from the same bar that he used to make blank cubes.

Install the body of the night light upside down and drill a couple of holes in the top cube for wooden dowels. Place metal marks in the holes and transfer the markup to the part of the lighting element. Drill holes for dowels.

Prepare your LED strip. Wrap it on the workpiece as shown in the photo. Press the inner end to the bar and secure with glue. Fix the outer end with glue and leave a segment of such a length that you can bring the tape through the case to the outside.

Place the lighting element into the body of the night light, connect the control unit and check the operation of the LED strip. If everything is installed correctly, secure it to the dowels inside the body using glue.

Sand the edges of the cubes and round off. To do this, the author uses sandpaper wrapped around a wooden slat.

This article describes the most interesting workshops on creating your own unique night light.

Almost all children love to fall asleep under the mysterious and soft light from a night lamp. Yes, what can we hide, even adults like the cozy atmosphere that he creates. And even more comfortable to build a night light yourself!

Do-it-yourself night light soaring in the air: photo, description

  • Now pieces with sides along 13 cm need to be glued with bars on 25 cm. Use glue to connect. The frame must be kept at least 5 minutes otherwise good bonding will not work.
  • Further bars on 23 and 25 cm glued to the bars 13 cm.

  • Now you can build base. These will be pieces 12 cm- they need to be glued together.

  • Frames stick together among themselves, as a result of which the master receives a cube.

IMPORTANT: It is necessary to allocate time for the cube to dry. At the same time, it is preferable to press it down with weights - this way the gluing will go better.

  • After the workpiece has dried, you can start doing holes under the power cord.

  • It must be remembered that the holes are certainly worth clean with sandpaper.
  • Next is do the stand. To mark it correctly is almost the main task of the master. Here lies the answer to the question of how the night light is going to soar in the air. The fact is that the cube should shift slightly relative to the base, and the latter should not be noticeable in the result. Get the optical effect of floating in the air.

  • Then the base and the cube are glued together and left to dry for a while.

IMPORTANT: If you glue the base and the cube incorrectly, the whole zest of the idea will disappear. Therefore, it is very important to pay special attention to this stage.

  • Now you can paint the workpiece white paint. Everything is painted - both the frames and the bottom.
  • Next, you need to awaken the electrician in yourself, skipping the wire into the holes previously made collecting the cartridge and connecting the wire.
  • Wire fixed hot glue gun.

  • The cartridge is also glued. But already to the base of the workpiece.

  • Sheets are cut out of colored folders, equal in parameters to the sides of the cube. It will light filters. They are glued to the sides of the cube so that they end up from within lamp.

  • And here front end pasted over with ordinary paper.
