Advantages of seamless coatings

Made from polyurethane resins, all CONICA surfaces are seamless and installed directly on the stadium bulk method or by spraying.

The advantages of coatings applied directly on site for professionals are obvious: you get a completely seamless coating, without any joints characteristic of roll coverings.

  • Unlike roll and other coatings with joints, seamless coatings have the same characteristics and properties at any point.
  • Joints and seams are obviously a potential zone of deformation and destruction. Gradual peeling or bending of the coating in the joint area can lead to injuries to athletes, and regular penetration of atmospheric moisture under the rolled coating will accelerate the process of its destruction.
  • Possibility of optimizing coating properties. Even if the surface is already installed in the stadium, its properties can be optimized or completely changed without dismantling it. For example, you can give the surface additional roughness, increase or decrease elasticity and hardness.
  • Reducing the risk of uneven surfaces - when laying roll coverings on a poorly prepared or uneven base, the unevenness will certainly be reflected in the path itself. This can cause injuries to athletes during training and competition. In addition, on uneven areas wear-out coating speeds up tens of times.
  • Unlike roll coatings, the technology of applying CONIPUR materials directly at the stadium will compensate for unevenness of the base up to 3-4 mm.
  • Maintainability: CONICA coatings usually last 10-15 years. Depending on climatic conditions and intensity of use, this period in many stadiums often increases to 20 years. However, if it is necessary to restore the coverage after long years, it can easily be “updated”, including changing its original characteristics. Instead of expensive dismantling existing coverage, a new layer of CONIPUR can be applied. In case of repair of individual areas, you can also apply a special repair compound locally. No joints, overlaps or seams will spoil the sports surface, which cannot be said about repairs. roll materials"patch" method.
  • Possibility of operation in open conditions in all climatic zones world - CONICA has developed special water-permeable (“open”), UV- and weather-resistant coatings that can be used perfectly in open conditions at any time of the year.
  • CONICA offers you a variety of color solutions that no one else can offer - We can produce coatings for you in two hundred and ten colors on the RAL scale!

Treadmill at the stadium– this is a mandatory attribute, without which it is difficult to imagine a modern sports facility. It is the paths that experience quite heavy loads during operation, so it is important not just to cover them with gravel, but to make the most comfortable and safe surface. We should not forget that treadmills can also be laid in pedestrian areas, forested areas, and in the courtyards of residential complexes.

What standards must treadmills meet?

Seamless rubber covering for treadmill
COVER SPORT Economy - (analogous to ELASTUR) waterproof, bottom layer - 10 mm (black SBR tire crumb of 2-4 mm fraction is used), and upper layer 2-3 mm (black SBR tire crumb of 1-2 mm fraction is used), applied using a crumb rubber sprayer
COVER SPORT Basic - the first layer is 10 mm (black SBR tire and EPDM colored chips of fraction 2-4 mm are used), and the second is 2-3 mm (applied using a spray polyurethane glue and pigment dye)
COVER SPORT Standard - 10 mm + 2-3 mm EPDM done using a spray gun
COVER SPORT Mix - 10 mm black with EPDM + 2-3 mm EPDM, installed using a sprayer
COVER SPORT Plus (ELASTUR treadmill covering) – 10 mm EPDM + 2-3 mm EPDM applied by spray
REPAIR OF RUNNING TRAILS— our company also repairs seamless rubber coatings; if necessary, the damaged part is replaced with a new one. We will do it efficiently and on time.

They feature high-tech equipment. When constructing stadiums, first of all, attention is paid to the compliance of the sizes, markings and covering of running tracks with standards. The results of athletes directly depend on them.

Treadmill

Facilities for sports activities under open air, as a rule, are universal. There is usually a football field in the center. It is surrounded by stands and running tracks. There are fields intended exclusively for athletics sports. Then in the center there are specially marked areas for throwing the discus, hammer, javelin, long jump, high jump, and pole vault.

When constructing such facilities, the first place is taken by the covering of stadium running tracks. In fact, the latter are a separate sports facility. It is intended for training and competitions in running (including hurdles) and walking. The paths are equipped on a flat horizontal surface, the edge is framed by sides. They are rounded at the top and their height does not exceed 3 cm.

The covering of treadmills must have high wear resistance, good shock-absorbing properties, have a smooth surface without joints, provide effective adhesion to athletes’ shoes, and not change its properties even after heavy moisture (rain). The treadmill consists of 4-9 individual lanes. Standard width- 122 cm, this also includes 5 cm markings. The minimum straight length is 400 meters.

A little history

IN late XIX centuries the surface of sports tracks on Olympic Games was a mixture of sand and clay. In rainy weather, the stability of support on them was unsatisfactory. It was developed in 1903 to withstand adverse weather, but due to its hardness it was not widely used.

A year later, at the Olympics at the stadium in St. Louis (USA), a cinder track was tested. The porous material made it possible to conduct competitions in light rainfall, quickly absorbing moisture. A clear advantage was elasticity and good grip on athletes' shoes. Cinder coating has been used for many decades. There are lines about her in V. Vysotsky’s song “Marathon”: “I run, run, trample, sliding along a cinder path.”

With strong humidity, the cinder surface became unusable; in addition, considerable effort and financial costs were required for maintenance and repair. Other options for covering treadmills have been developed. In 1912, a stone-wood mixture appeared, waterproof, softer than asphalt, but short-lived. Later English company Rubber offered sheet rubber with water-conducting holes. It was a real breakthrough. One after another, more modern coatings based on latex or bitumen began to appear. They tied together cork, sand, crumb rubber and other materials.

Kinds

Surfaces may vary significantly. They are conventionally divided into the following groups:

  • professional;
  • semi-professional;
  • for mass sports.

The first two groups of structures usually have a rubber or synthetic running surface. The main difference is in the quality, number of layers and their filling, installation method, color scheme. Professional ones must have an IAAF certificate and can withstand the load when using spiked shoes.

In public places for lovers of an active lifestyle, treadmills are used:

  • Cinder or coke coatings. They are waterproof and require regular maintenance.
  • Asphalt or asphalt rubber - durable, quite rigid, do not allow water to pass through, and do not require additional maintenance.

Both options are not elastic and can lead to injuries during prolonged exercise. Today, architects incorporate modern coatings into their projects that are safer for human health.

Rubber cover

Rubber coverings for treadmills are most in demand. The amount of glue, crumb size, mixing proportions are characteristics according to which coatings are divided into two types:

  • moisture permeable;
  • impermeable to water.

They are also classified by the number of layers:

  • single-layer;
  • multilayer.

The advantages include the following:

  • convenience and comfort for athletes;
  • excellent performance characteristics;
  • choosing the desired color;
  • injury safety;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • excellent sound insulation;
  • attractive appearance;
  • easy care;
  • the ability to restore the surface if damaged;
  • versatility of use.

Laying options

Any covering is laid on the prepared site. The soil should have as smooth a surface as possible. The track itself is a kind of structure consisting of several layers:

  • natural base;
  • layer of gravel;
  • concrete or asphalt;
  • glue;
  • shock-absorbing lining;
  • finishing layer.

The top layer is mounted in several ways:

  • It can be poured - all components are mixed directly at the installation site.
  • By laying mats, usually measuring 120 x 100 cm;
  • Rolls.

Leading global manufacturers modern coating treadmills use environmentally friendly and quality materials. They must meet the following requirements:

  • Have increased wear resistance, withstand many years of stress under studded shoes, unfavorable climatic conditions.
  • Be safe, have an optimal coefficient of rigidity and elasticity.
  • Be comfortable and reliable, provide good grip on the surface of athletes' shoes even in rainy weather.
  • Do not fade in the sun, have an attractive appearance. Today, manufacturers offer a variety of color solutions.
  • Keep water out.
  • Does not require special care.
  • Meet IAAF standards.

Figure 6. Design of an athletics running track: 1-waterproof soil base; 2-sand drainage layer; 3 base made of limestone crushed stone with a particle size of up to 40 mm; 4-intermediate layer of boiler slag (fractions 20-60 mm); 5-elastic-moisture-absorbing layer of fibrous peat; 6 - coating made from a special mixture; 7-filter sprinkling; 8-tube drainage

The natural basis for the structure of the path is bulk waterproof soil, so during its construction special attention required the organization of drainage from the surface and from the thickness of the structure. A drainage layer of coarse sand 20 cm thick was laid at the base of the path, and a tubular drainage with a continuous filter bedding was installed under the inner edge.

Base material - crushed crystalline limestone grain size up to 100 mm, intermediate layers - boiler slag and fibrous brown peat. The coating is made of a special mixture based on ground ceramics. Both treadmill edges made of prefabricated reinforced concrete elements measuring 25X6X 100 cm, installed on the preparation of lean concrete.

If a drainage layer of sand, shell, slag, etc., is arranged in a layer more than 10 cm thick, the thickness of the base can be reduced to 5-8 cm by filling it with crushed soft stones. Avoid over-compacting the base when rolling.

The elasticity of the structure can be increased by replacing part of the slag layer with a sawdust-pyrite mixture with a layer 10-12 cm thick.

The fastening design of the prefabricated edge elements must ensure unhindered access surface water into the drain - a drain, what is the width for? concrete base under the edge should not exceed 10-12 cm. It is also possible to fasten a reinforced concrete edge similar to the structures of wooden edges on “jogs”, using concrete support columns and increasing the length of the prefabricated edge elements to 2-2.5 m.

Figure 7: Treadmill design: 1 - crushed brick, fractions 40-70 mm: 2-medium-grained slag, fractions 20-30 mm (80%) + lump fireclay clay (20%); 3-fine-grained slag, fractions up to 12 mm (70% - loam (30%), 4-crushed bauxite, fractions 1-10 mm (75%) + coarsely crushed fireclay 1-10 mm (25%); 5-crushed bauxite, fractions 0-3 mm (60%) + fireclay clay (20%) + tile flour (20%); 6 - sprinkling with finely ground fireclay clay with rolling.

Treadmill (Fig. 7). The base of the path is made of crushed brick (fraction 40-70 mm), laid on a planned and compacted soil base. The thickness of the base is from 12 cm at the outer edge to 20 cm at the inner edge, due to the slope of the bottom of the trough of about 0.01. Two intermediate layers with a total thickness of 13.5 cm are laid on the base. The first intermediate layer is made with a thickness of 8 cm from a mixture of 20-30 mm slag with clay, in a ratio of 4: 1. The second intermediate layer with a thickness of 5.5 cm is made of a mixture of fine-grained slag grain size up to 12 mm and loam in a ratio of 7: 3 The coating is made up of three layers of a special mixture total thickness 5 cm (including surface treatment).
