Anyone little man It will be pleasant to spend time in your personal “fortress”. Children's house or a tent will allow you to please your child and lighten up your own day a little for personal matters.

Making a wooden playhouse with your own hands is not difficult; almost every one of us can make a tent or cardboard structure, and this article will help you in this exciting activity. So, we build a children's playhouse in the apartment with our own hands

Children's playhouse: choice of material

Each of us has an idea of how to build a children's house: you just need to draw up a plan for the future construction and decide on necessary materials. A house can be built not only from wood, but also from cardboard, although wood as a raw material for this construction is optimal for a number of reasons:

  • Wood is stronger and more durable than cardboard, and in the case of building a house for children, this plays a huge role;
  • can be made with various decorative cut-out elements, thereby making it attractive and interesting for the future owner;
  • a wooden structure looks more aesthetically pleasing than a cardboard product.

Despite all the above advantages of wood as a material for constructing a children's play structure, you need to decide for yourself where the constructed product will be located. According to many parents, for an apartment it is still better to choose a cardboard option or even install a fabric tent.

This design will take up much less space; construction will not bring it into the house large quantity garbage, and it will be much easier to dispose of such a house if necessary.

House dimensions

The next step after choosing the material will be to determine and calculate the dimensions and parameters of the future house. To make it interesting for your child to be in it, keep in mind that the more free territory there is, the safer and more comfortable it will be for the child to play in his “fortress.”

If you are building a house outside the apartment (for example, in the country), also choose a freer plot. Although, of course, the territory of the dacha plot will allow you to express your plan much more freely and widely.

DIY wooden house

If you prefer wood when choosing a material, then pay attention to the option of construction from beams. First, we make a frame from them, which should then be covered with boards.

We used to build play structures out of chairs, pillows and blankets. So why not help the younger generation today and build a real children's house with your own hands? You can use any available materials - wood, PVC or aluminum pipes, plywood, wooden pallets or thick cardboard.

Playhouse in the apartment

Even in a small room, it is quite possible to install a small frame covered with fabric in the form of a tent or wigwam. If square meters allow, build a full-fledged wooden or plywood house in the nursery in the form of a fairy-tale hut, carriage, trailer, rocket or ship.

Wigwam house

As you know, wigwam - special design, consisting of several long poles connected at the top and covered with thick fabric. Such a structure can be easily disassembled and stored, moved from room to room, taken out into the fresh air, into the yard, or packed into the trunk of a car and transported to the garden plot.

And it’s not at all difficult to make such a children’s wigwam playhouse.

You can use the following as a frame:

  • carefully sanded and varnished or varnished wooden slats 120 cm long and 2-4 cm thick; for installation on fresh air You can also use strong tree branches, but only if (!) even the smallest knots are cut off
  • PVC water pipes
  • lightweight aluminum pipes, for example, left over from old curtains

To cover a tent house, it is better to choose thick linen or cotton that allows air to pass through well. Under such an awning, children will feel comfortable and easy to breathe even on hot days.

The simplest structure is a wigwam– three poles, firmly tied at the top at a distance of 10-20 cm from the top. To make the fastening strong, it is better to connect them with bolts by drilling holes in the upper part of the frame. The design can be slightly more complicated by making a rigid base for it from wooden slats or pipes, which will be installed on the floor. There is no need to make a crossbar from the entrance to the wigwam - children will constantly trip over it.

In principle, you can build a full-fledged tent in the shape of a quadrangle or a tent, but you will have to tinker with the frame fastenings a little longer. We'll talk about this below.

Several small pillows made of colored fabric, a mattress or a soft fluffy carpet will decorate children's wigwam and make it more comfortable.

Tent or marquee made of PVC pipes

Craftsmen have long been using plastic water pipes not only for their intended purpose. After all, they make quite durable and comfortable garden chairs, tables and even greenhouses.

Fairytale cardboard house

There are already ready-made cardboard buildings on sale - all you have to do is decorate them at your discretion. But it will be better if you make and paint the house from start to finish together with your children.

Its design can be as simple as a door and window, or as complex as design. You can attach a tower, a porch to it, make a home for children from several rooms with furniture, etc. The costs of making such a structure are almost negligible. But this will hardly make the children less happy.

To make a cardboard house we will need:

  • several large cardboard boxes(boxes from under a refrigerator, TV, etc. will do)
  • construction knife: it will be more convenient for them to cut parts
  • stapler and tape for fastening individual parts

It is better not to cut doors and windows all the way through - let them be opening and closing. Although they can also be hung with tape. It is better to make window and door openings in the form of an arch or any thematic figure. The gable roof is also secured with tape. The joints must be glued on both sides.

To make furniture, use a double layer of cardboard - this will make it stronger. If the home turns out to be spacious enough, you can make from cardboard not only tables, chairs and armchairs, but also washing machine, a kitchen stove with painted burners, a TV, a refrigerator, a crib for a doll, etc. Attach a bright doghouse to the house in which your favorite toy puppy will live. Build a cardboard fence next to the house and “plant” a few carrots, flowers, or an apple tree cut out of cardboard from colored paper.

Decorate the windows of such an impromptu house with chintz curtains and lay down a rug. The outside of the home can be covered with fabric, remnants of wallpaper or colored napkins, painted with paints, decorated with appliqué, bright inflatable balloons, flags and garlands. Let your child participate in the finishing process by handing him a brush and paints.

Plywood construction

It will take no more than a couple of days to make such a house:

  1. There are a lot of drawings for making a children's house on the Internet. You can use any of them. We will only describe the assembly principle itself.
  2. The floors in the house are warm, and the house can do without them. But it’s still better to make a small elevation using wooden logs with plywood screwed to it. It will be more convenient to attach the frame to such a base, and the structure itself will be more stable.
  3. We mount a frame of rack-beams attached to the floor. It is better not to use nails - they may become loose. Fastening with screws will be much more reliable and durable.
  4. Horizontal jumpers are screwed across the racks.
  5. A block is attached between them, forming the ridge of the roof.
  6. For gable roof you will need to make a pediment - wooden slats knocked down in the shape of a triangle.
  7. All that remains is to sheathe the walls and roof with plywood, paint it or cover it with wallpaper.
  8. The roof can also be made pitched by covering the upper part of the building with plywood at a slight slope.
  9. The door is made of wooden boards or only a frame is made for it, and the door itself door leaf cut from plywood. It is hung using ordinary metal hinges, which can be purchased at a furniture store.
  10. You can paint or cover the house with fabric, wallpaper or bright appliqué from the inside.
  11. Curvilinear figures from plywood are cut out at home with a jigsaw. If you know how and love to work with wood, make furniture for your child that he can put in his new house.
  12. Plywood can even be bent if you soak it in the bathtub first. Thick sheets should lie in water for a couple of hours. For thin plywood, 10-15 minutes of soaking is sufficient. The softened part is laid on the surface and secured with self-tapping screws so that during drying it takes on the desired shape.
  13. Paint the plywood with regular oil or enamel paint. Don't forget to prime the surface first. In this case, the paint will lie more evenly, and much less of it will go away.

Children's house in the yard

For children living in an apartment, the dacha may seem like a boring place. To make the process of addiction go as quickly and unnoticeably as possible, take care of creating playground and a cozy house with your favorite toys. Such a structure will be an excellent decoration for a garden or local area.

There are many options for making fairy-tale dwellings in the yard. A children's cottage for a summer cottage can be built from:

  • tree
  • plywood
  • Fibreboard or chipboard
  • polycarbonate
  • vinyl siding
  • pallets (pallets)
  • waterproof fabric stretched over a frame made of PVC or wooden slats
  • tree branches, etc.

There are many ideas for children's houses. The design can be based not only on images from the Internet, but also pictures from children's books. Add a slide and swing to the house. It is better to place the pool further away, otherwise water will constantly get into the children's home. Drywall should not be used for the construction of roofs and walls - even if it is moisture-resistant, it will quickly swell in the rain.

For a children's playground, you must choose a well-visible place without drafts. You should not start construction in a low-lying area where rainwater constantly accumulates.

House made of colored translucent polycarbonate

It is mounted on a metal frame, PVC pipes or wooden blocks:

  1. For such a light structure, a foundation is not needed. It is enough to dig four supports to a depth of 50-60 cm into the ground to ensure stability. Otherwise, during a strong wind it will turn over.
  2. To protect against moisture, add a small layer of crushed stone to the bottom of the holes prepared for supports. Bottom part metal poles it is necessary to treat them with anti-corrosion impregnation, and then wrap them with roofing felt. Bottom wooden poles covered with bitumen.
  3. The dimensions for the children's house are chosen arbitrarily. It is more convenient if they match the dimensions of the polycarbonate sheets.
  4. The floors will need to be raised using wooden beams and floor slats - children staying in the shade on damp ground for a long time is unacceptable.
  5. To prevent the tree from quickly becoming unusable, it is better to install the structure on bricks or concrete blocks. They are dug into the ground at the corners of the base on the bayonet of a shovel.
  6. To obtain a durable structure, you will need polycarbonate with a thickness of 8 mm.
  7. They cut its sheets with a construction knife.
  8. The protective film is removed after construction is completed. Otherwise, scratches may appear on the plastic.
  9. Any arched structure can be made from polycarbonate - it bends easily, but only in length.
  10. The strength of this plastic is ensured by the special structure of the sheets. They are made in the form of honeycombs (stiffening ribs). However, this also has its drawbacks - if it is not fastened correctly, water can accumulate inside. To prevent polycarbonate from darkening from moisture and losing its attractiveness, cut the sheets so that the stiffeners are positioned vertically. The ends of the sheets are covered with a special end profile to prevent moisture from entering.
  11. To avoid exposure to ultraviolet radiation on the material, the sheets are attached with a protective layer on the outside. There are always inscriptions and pictograms on it.
  12. If one sheet is not enough to cover the wall, dig additional support into the ground so that the joints of the sheets fall on the center of the wall.
  13. When temperature changes, the material can change dimensions, so you should not place the sheets close to each other. It is necessary to leave a small technological gap. When installing, use thermal washers to help compensate for expansion.
  14. When drilling holes for fasteners, make them a couple of millimeters apart larger diameter self-tapping screws They should not be screwed tightly, otherwise the plastic will crack during thermal expansion.
  15. To make a gable roof you will need a ridge element made of the same plastic. You can buy it at a hardware store. You can also protect the ridge from moisture by bending a strip of metal at the desired angle.
  • A wooden children's house does not require a foundation. To protect the wood from moisture, you can install it on a brick base. You can also use low wooden or metal piles. It will be possible to attach a slide to the porch of the house, installed on such supports and raised above the ground.
  • The floor must be strong enough and of good quality. Use better floorboard or plywood. They are mounted on beams. The side facing the ground is impregnated with an antiseptic.
  • A thick beam 50x50 mm thick is mounted as a frame in the corners and at the location of the windows and doors. To add rigidity to the structure, horizontal bars are attached at the top and bottom.
  • The corners are reinforced with spacer bars - bevels, the racks - with metal corners.
  • It is better to make a gable roof so that the child is not tempted to climb into it. First, pediments are prepared from the bars - end sides, having the shape of a triangle. Between them there are horizontally running bars on which the lining is stuffed or plywood is attached.
  • To avoid splinters, the wood must be cleaned and sanded.
  • To ensure ventilation, sufficient lighting and ease of observation of children, several windows are made in it. They are placed 50-60 cm from the floor.
  • The height of the door should be at least 20-30 cm higher than the height of the child.
  • Near the house you can install swings, slides, sports section. For a girl, you can arrange a small flower bed with flowers, which she can take care of herself.
  • It’s great if you organize a grand opening of the house with a tea party, festive posters and music.

    Covering light structures with heavy slate is unacceptable. After all, in the event of a collapse, the child may be injured. Use lighter polycarbonate, wood or plywood covered with soft tiles for the roof of the children's house.

    To organize a child’s leisure time, parents have to rack their brains in search of a suitable solution. In fact, the answer is quite simple: in order for a child to spend the day in active games, it is necessary to organize his personal space. The way out of this situation would be a do-it-yourself children's house. In any yard you can highlight small area for the construction of a playhouse. All that remains is to select a diagram, materials, tools and get to work. You can find detailed instructions in our article.

    Common types

    In order to make a children's house, you can use a variety of materials that were left over after construction or renovation; if there are none, purchase them at a hardware store. Undoubtedly, the most popular lumber is:

    • bars;
    • plywood;
    • boards.

    Let's look at common options.

    Plywood

    The construction of a plywood playhouse begins with design, that is, they create a drawing or layout, from which it will then be possible to calculate the required amount of material and make blanks. At this stage, the places allocated for the door and windows are marked. To build the simplest summer hut, a couple of sheets of the selected material will be enough, but in general, the consumption will completely depend on the dimensions of the structure. Consider a few more important points:

    • windows are located from the floor at a height of 60 cm;
    • the doorway should be 15–20 cm higher than the child’s height;
    • the dimensions of the future house should allow the child to feel comfortable;
    • the roof is arranged at an angle of 45°;
    • plywood sheets can be cut regular saw and fasten with nails;
    • all corners must be sanded with sandpaper so that the child does not get injured during the game;
    • When choosing paints and varnishes, it is best to give preference to safe and non-toxic types.

    Note! The location of the house should be advantageous for parents: it should be as visible as possible from the windows or from the porch of the house in order to constantly monitor the child.

    Wooden boards

    If you want to equip a durable and reliable house at your dacha in which your child can play all year round, then you should choose wooden boards. This material has a clear advantage - wood correct processing practically not subject to wear. The following points are taken into account:

    • for the frame choose beams with a cross section of 5 cm;
    • to enhance strength, the frame is covered with planks 2 cm thick;
    • the finished house is covered with deck varnish;
    • approach the coloring stage from a creative side, choosing bright colors and drawing your child’s favorite cartoon characters.
    Note! As with any building, it is necessary to provide waterproofing for the roof in a wooden playhouse.

    Hut on legs

    To make not a simple house, but a fancy place for playing games, it is best to choose a fairy-tale hut on legs. An important step is precisely the initial one. Having a drawing that is correct and calculated to the smallest detail, you can count on getting a practical and good-quality house. When choosing a material to create the most interesting element - legs, you can focus on:

    • wooden blocks;
    • metal pipes;
    • stones.

    A variety of combinations are suitable for decoration. In addition, you need to pay attention to the following points:

    • The height of the legs should not exceed 70 cm.
    • The base of the legs is poured with concrete for stability.
    • For convenience and comfort, there should be a low staircase or open steps.
    • The entire house is assembled from wooden boards: first, the frame is knocked down, which is then sheathed with boards.
    Note! Since the house is a place for active games, the legs should not be high. The structure must be safe and stable.

    Step-by-step construction instructions

    To make a simple children's house made of wood, you will need to allocate a little of your time, collect the material with the tools and get to work.

    Materials

    Any construction must begin with planning. Only a clear diagram will allow you to calculate required quantity material and make a purchase. For the described playhouse you will need the following materials:

    1. Board panels (180×240 cm) – 6 pcs.
    2. Treated timber (with a cross-section of 10×10 cm, length 180 cm) – 4 pcs.
    3. Treated timber (with a section of 5×10 cm, length 240 cm) – 6 pcs.
    4. Treated timber (section 5×7.5 cm, length 240 cm) – 2 pcs.
    5. Ruberoid – 1 roll.
    6. Screws (30 mm) – 2 packs. 500 g each
    7. Screws (75 mm) – 1 pack.
    8. Tar paper nails.
    9. Wood stain – 10 l.
    10. Thin planks.

    The racks are formed from timber with a cross-section of 5×7.5 cm and a length of 240 cm. It is from these that the base for the board panels is made.

    Note! When choosing a stain, you should choose two colors: 7 l - “light cedar” and 3 l - dark green.

    Tools

    From construction tools you will need:

    • shovel;
    • tamping;
    • level;
    • hammer;
    • drill-driver;
    • Circular Saw;
    • beat;
    • tassels;
    • stationery knife.

    Note! Make cuts circular saw necessary with inside panels so that chips do not form on the outside.

    Completing of the work

    Before you make a beautiful playhouse with your own hands, just familiarize yourself with the following algorithm of actions.

    Floor and walls

    1. A site for the future house is selected, leveled and compacted. If desired and available funds, it is recommended to dig trenches and fill a layer of crushed stone for support beams with a cross-section of 10x10 cm.
    2. The length of the support beams is equal to the distance between the two outer posts of the board panels, that is, 140 cm. For convenience, you can take a beam with a cross-section of 5x7.5 cm and a length of 240 cm, attach it to one panel, and mark the locations on it. Thanks to the existing markings, you can install the logs without much difficulty.
    3. The soil is leveled, focusing on the most low point. First, the first support beam is installed, which will be the front, after which it comes to the rear. They check the evenness and horizontality, and then you can install the two central ones.
    4. To fasten the supports together, use 2 beams with a cross-section of 5×10 cm and a length of 240 cm. They must pass between the racks of the board panel that will be the floor. They are fixed with screws. The resulting voids must be filled with soil, leaving air gap about 3 cm, which is necessary for normal air circulation.
    5. Board panels are cut according to required sizes and choose the smoothest one for the floor. It must be laid so that it does not come into contact with the ground anywhere. To achieve this, you can additionally use timber trim. The edges must completely coincide with the support bars.
    6. To cut the side panels correctly, first mark the height of the side panels, that is, 150 cm. You also need to leave a margin of 5.5 cm. Cut only from the inside.
    Note! Don't forget to leave a little extra width for the back and front panels. Thanks to this, they will be able to cover the side pillars. To ensure overlap, it is necessary to measure another 2 cm from the outer edges of the posts.

    Roof

    1. Since the roof is the most complex element of the structure, you will have to concentrate and give all your attention. Labor intensity also lies in the need to unscrew all the rear panel posts in order to reattach them later. On the front panel, measure the distance from the top center point to the side point located below. This will allow you to decide where to place the roof panel racks.
    2. Please note that the post that runs along the ridge must be placed exactly 5 cm from center line. In this case, during installation, both racks will not overlap each other.
    3. It is best to use beams with a cross section of 5x7.5 cm as additional racks (if any are needed). During installation, you should constantly check their perpendicularity to the top of the roof. If necessary, they are aligned along the bottom edge.
    4. All irregularities on the tops are successfully masked by the ridge.
    Note! Only remove and reposition the posts one at a time to maintain rigidity and strength.

    Final stages

    1. For a doorway, dimensions of 60x120 cm will be quite sufficient. This size will fit perfectly into the span between the racks. But if necessary, you can choose other sizes.
    2. First of all, cut out the window(s), and then move on to the door. Please note that you need to be careful and attentive with the door; do not cut it completely, as the panel is not yet fully secured and the structure will lose its rigidity.
    3. All elements are covered with stain and varnish. Apply paints and varnishes should be done both from the inside and outside to form a protective layer.
    4. Using 75 mm screws, all elements are fixed to each other and to the support bars. Once the frame is secured, you can completely cut out the doorway and install the roof.
    5. The door and shutters are made, the porch is assembled and fixed.

    The most the finishing touch is the interior decoration of the house, making furniture, for example, tables and chairs.

    Note! It is not necessary to insert glass into window openings; you can do without them altogether. Plexiglas, which is safe, will also work.

    Don't forget that interior design also plays a big role, especially when it comes to little princesses who imitate adults during play. Regardless of what material and design was chosen to create the play space, your baby will be happy. It is in the house that he can spend hours with pleasure every day active rest, developing imagination.
