What is lining?

This is a material intended for finishing wall, ceiling, and other surfaces, in the form of a thin board with special connecting grooves. Eurolining is the same material, only better quality

Today we are familiar with another special term - “eurolining”. This is identical material, only made from a different tree, according to slightly different standards. What are they made of?

This is due to the heat resistance of hardwood, low heat capacity and high moisture resistance. The external attractiveness of coniferous wood is not inferior in beauty to deciduous wood. However, it can be used in all rooms of the bathhouse - in the rest room, dressing room, but not where the temperature reaches high values!

IMPORTANT! Coniferous wood when heated, it is capable of releasing resin, which is easily flammable or can spill from the ceiling surface onto the washable hair, from where it is very difficult to remove.

Deciduous wood paneling

  1. Linden. Leader in use for finishing steam rooms. Outwardly attractive, pleasant to the touch, the wood of this type of wood lends itself well to processing, but it is not easy to damage. Aspen lining is also resistant to steam and moisture, so it, along with linden, is used when decorating bathhouses. Softwood cladding board

Cedar. This refers to real cedar wood, not cedar pine. The bactericidal and antiseptic qualities of this breed are highly valued. But this disadvantage becomes an advantage when it comes to thermal insulation. It is thanks to the loose structure that a room decorated with spruce wood will be the warmest.

Made from larch. The wood of this coniferous tree It has a very dense structure, and therefore it is the only coniferous tree that is perfect for all bath rooms, including steam rooms. Moisture resistance is given to larch by a special substance called gum - a viscous water-soluble sap. But larch is difficult to process, chips easily and does not have any thermal insulation qualities.

How to choose quality material?

To ensure that finishing material made from any wood does not disappoint you during work or operation, you need to know the necessary information about its parameters. Namely:

  • the thickness of the board must be at least 12.5 mm - with a smaller thickness it will move or it will crack during installation of the cladding;
  • a tenon of 8 mm must correspond to the depth of the groove, which ensures density when installing the cladding;
  • high-quality chips, which determine the smoothness of the surface and low consumption of varnish during its processing;
  • the lining should have a humidity of no higher than 12%; higher values ​​indicate insufficient drying of the source material and the risk of deformation of the board, and in the case of pine lining, also turning it blue;
  • absence of fallen knots, otherwise the appearance and quality of finish will suffer.

In accordance with these parameters, finishing boards are divided into the following grades:

  • “Extra” grade - material of the highest quality, without any defects, knots, etc.;
  • grade “A” - high quality board, clean with a minimum number of knots without falling out;
  • grade “B” and “C” - cladding of medium and low quality, when there may be blind knots and microdefects.
