If the sensor begins to malfunction, it can be identified by the characteristic signs indicating the presence of a breakdown:

  • The engine starts to work unstable;
  • The motor can not work at idle;
  • Power disappears, its lack is felt;
  • During the movement of revolutions disappear for some time;
  • Fuel consumption increases significantly;
  • Increased emissions from the exhaust system;

  • Now check the readings, only without the vacuum hose;
  • After removing it, the pressure gauge should give about 0.2-0.8 units. If the changes have not occurred, then the regulator has definitely failed and needs to be replaced.

One of the most common is the purchase of a special kit, which includes a special adapter for connection, a pressure gauge (thanks to it, the measurement is made) and a drain. For the purchase of these devices will have to allocate about 1500 rubles. But you can do differently - go to the service station, where experts for 300-500 rubles. will take the required measurements.


However, there is a more sophisticated method that does not require additional costs - you can measure the fuel pressure using an ordinary pressure gauge used to check the pressure in tires. In this case, it is desirable to use gauges for measurements, the limit of which is minimal (approximately 6-7 atmospheres). This will minimize the error.

It is important to remember that problems with the fuel system, as a rule, manifest abrupt "failures" during the achievement of high engine speeds. In addition, when driving a car can pull, it tupit at a set speed, and so on. In this case, be sure to check the pressure. Only after that you can find the main causes of problems - gasoline pump, injectors, filters, and so on.

We will use a simple tire pump. The main thing is that the limit of measurement was at least 4 bars. It will also require a part of a petrol-resistant hose, the length of which should be 150 millimeters, the inner diameter of which should be 10-12 mm. , as well as 2 more clamps. Cap wheel valve to unscrew the valve from the fitting of the fuel rail. At the fitting we put on the hose of the pressure gauge and tighten it with a clamp.

Turning on the ignition, while not starting the engine: after 2 seconds, the gasoline pressure in the ramp should increase to 2.8-3.2 bar and be maintained at this level (photo 3). If it is significantly lower (about 1 bar) and stays at such a level for a long time, it is necessary to check the flow line 4, it seems to be clogged. There are 2 problem areas: gasoline pump net 2 and fuel filter 5. First, check the filter. It is located under the bottom of the body next to the gas tank (photo 4). If it is in order, you need to look at the pump grid.

We get the fuel pump out of the tank, take out the mesh and rinse. Before installing the fuel pump, it would be nice to check it for tightness and reliable connection of its tube (arrow in photo 5) to the fuel line. You will certainly ask how to be if the supply line is clean, the pump is buzzing, and the pressure is still below normal. In this case, you need to change the pump itself, it has developed its resource! P And it may happen that the pump seems to be functioning normally, and there is no pressure in the rail! This can happen in winter if there is a lot of water at the bottom of the fuel tank.

P When freezing on the grid, it interrupts the flow of fuel to it. How to be? You can make a fire under a gas tank, heat it with a blowtorch or some other source of fire that cannot be done under any circumstances. It is preferable to remove the fuel pump and clean it of ice. The second option for a leisurely: roll the car into a warm room and wait. Then it would be nice to pour water from the fuel tank. The affair is gratifying, however.

Here we made sure that the pressure in the ramp is within normal limits. Does fuel flow into the engine cylinders? This is not a fact! The nozzles can be clogged, the gasoline supply is reduced, and maybe completely stopped. However, sometimes the control signal is not sent to the injectors, although they themselves are in good condition. Control must begin with inspection of the spark plugs.

If the candles are wet, then, therefore, gasoline enters. Dry? In this case, the probe should check the signal at the connector of the harness of a mechanical liquid or gas atomizer (nozzle) (as shown in photo 6). Made, but the candles are still dry? Then you have to unscrew the screws securing the ramp and lift it under the intake manifold so that the nozzles are visible. We turn on the ignition and crank the engine with a starter. In the absence of streams of fuel, you need to remove the nozzle and most likely, replace it with new ones.
